I did a focus group some time ago now, got £50 for it. We had to review and discuss a new Leg0 kit. We absolutely slated the product, we all agreed it wasn’t great. Turns out the Leg0 big chiefs were over from Denmark and behind a two way mirror listening to everything we said 😬 We all went home with the £50 plus one of the much slated kits.

I also have September goals, good time for fresh focus, new term feeling and all that.

Well done on almost finishing the I.O.ME pot 🥳
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Finally caught up with your diary
well done on the £5k pot ! Very impressed - it’s so easy when the amount us Londoners need  to save for a deposit  is so huge that you want to give up and have a nice pub lunch instead :)

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

    Admins and comping
    Rice pudding pot for breakfast

Someone came round to pick up a sale so that's £10 in the flat pot

Took some of the bonus foods round to mum, got a nice big portion of her veggie spag bol in return

Shower and hairwash, shoulders still attached

35 minute lunchtime walk with Mr PIP to pick up an olio 1.75kg bag of tesco finest potatoes

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k but I'd be very glad of some cheese too, ooh and some beer to go with it if poss

Sitting in communal garden catching up with Mr PIP over beer instead of going to pub

Dinner is two of our free olio mac cheeses with leaves on the side, and Mr PIP says he'll make us some garlic bread with one of the olio half baguettes from the freezer. What delightful extravagance for a Tuesday!

Edited to add that it was an olio bag of spuds, supportive as you all are I doubt anyone needs to know the exact measurements of everything we buy- unless it's free!

Personally I was hoping to hear from Ernie yesterday, but naturally didn't.  Still I am just winning enough to make what would be a reasonable interest rate, so can't complain.

Mr PIP won £75 but hasn't got an email yet @badmemory so you might still be in luck!

I'm not patient enough to wait to get an email so I checked first thing this morning on the site that just needs your holder number.  Small win biut I could have done with a big one as I have spent a LOT recently.  I totally lost the plot & got solar panels.
Over a month on & I keep sitting here watching arrows going from a picture of a roof to either a house or a battery & saying to myself stop that when the arrows are going from a pylon (the grid) to the house.  I just need to learn to use them properly.  I'm not getting the export tariff yet but even on a bad day I seem to be saving at least 50%.  It is a good job I just jumped in though or I would never have done it.  Is this or a heat pump something you have thought about?  Both should be cheaper to do when you are building,  Would it encourage the council to pay attention.  They really should be ashamed of themselves.
