@PiP - I think the unknown name is worthy of investigation because if both names are on the account, it will look like a flat-share kind of situation. One thing I remember from years ago when I lived in a couple of  student HMOs is that the person they can find tends to be the one who ends up paying the bill. One possibility could be that this 'person unkown', whoever they are, has energy bill arrears. I'm just thinking of possibilities.

    Big client job day 1/3

Hour walk collecting the clock, we were very proud of ourselves in this heat (28/29 degrees, feels like 31 in London and so close)
Found a McD token for a free hash brown.
Another ten minutes walk rewarding ourselves with a cold beer!

Dinner is leftover pizza with leaves and hummus
  • Forgot to tell you PiP- was the beneficiary of a McD token. Free milkshake :)

  • Nice work @WelshmansDaughter, was it given to you or did you find it?

  • Up daft early as was just laying awake worrying about everything so thought I may as well get up and on with things!

Email drafted to utility company for Mr PIP to amend

    To do today:

    Spec work
    Hang laundry
    Shower and hairwash

Steps, especially getting things recycled and to charity shop and small tasks off the to-do list

    Client job

    More admin

    More steps

Hopefully Mr PIP can get time between work stuff to chase Thames about the build permissions

Some flat to-do tasks getting done would be great

Hopefully Mr PIP can get time to discuss with his Dad and brother about possibly getting started on the excavations, which we are technically allowed to do what with it being our land but it'll be a waste of time and money if we dont get these permissions soon. But it'll be a waste of time and money if we do get the permissions and haven't done everything we can to be ready

    Evening client work

Hoping other client who got in touch yesterday will get back to me with a brief so I can get started or at least schedule that

    Everything else on to-do list/s 😂

That energy bill sounds dodgy but it will likely take several hours of wading through treacle to get it resolved and I'm sure treacle wading is not good for your joints.
i foolishly thought that changing my leisure centre membership would be simple enough.  "You can do it all on the app" pronounced the bored leisure centre worker with a well honed blend of boredom, disdain and pity that the oldies might think that there is any other way to do anything.  So, the app decided I wanted 2 memberships, probably because it's obvious to the app that I'm an ultra fit person on the cusp of triathlons.  Customer services (via email) advised that I should not have used the app to change my membership (why would I have been so stupid as to do that? 🤷‍♀️.
So now payments for 2 memberships will be taken on 1st July (too late to stop them allegedly) and I can waste some more time claiming a refund - you guessed it ON THE BLOOMING APP!
I need a cup of tea!

  • Oh for flips sake @Blackcats, why can no organisation just blimmin function properly!
Sun's over the yardarm, I'd be calling it retirement privilege and having a glass of wine in the garden!

I assume that when MrPiP moved in there he did set things up in his own name/get his own prepayment card/key? Has he got any of the correspondence with the energy company from that time addressed just to himself?

Also - does he have an online account with them which clarifies what was paid in top-ups? They seem to be a bit confused anyway as prepayment is literally paying for what you've used, and on the old style meters you just put on credit and were then charged at the rate set by the meter until you topped up again, and then that rate would be amended to whatever as current, is my understanding? Smart meters have the rates amended when they actually change, I think...
