Well done, @PennysIntoPounds..Good compromise & a worthwhile saving. I absolutely do not miss periods at all. Had an awful peri-menopause, but thankfully very few menopause symptoms once the damned things stopped. Be gentle on yourself.

  • Thanks @foxgloves I get horrendous periods, actually begging for menopause! Fingers crossed it'll be not too dire...
Thanks also for the reminder to be gentle on myself, it is not one of my skills
  • Today's doings haven't been terribly productive, but I did manage to a) not cancel and b) walk to have a couple of pints and a catch up with family friends who, if they can sell a family home, may be able to rent me and Mr PIP their flat at mates rates for a year. I'm not depending on this as there are many, many variables but it was good to hear their progress and know that's still a potential future option.

We were also gifted some cauliflower and two sturdy courgettes so that was a nice bonus.

Mr PIP spotted two Mcdonald's monopoly tokens on the street, one of which was for 10% off Go Ape Adventures- we won't use it so if anyone wants it do PM me (obviously I can't guarantee that the purchaser hasn't already used the code but no harm in trying to apply it)

Nothing quite like a gift of a sturdy courgette to brighten up a Sunday afternoon 🤦‍♀️
  • Thanks to Blackcats for lowering the tone before I got here - excellent work and saved me a job!

That's the same model of Jaws I have albeit they've changed the design quite a bit since I got mine. the anti hair wrap tech really does work though - I confess I was very doubtful as I've owned vacuums before that have claimed similar. Shark have nailed it though. Well done for asking for and getting the price difference refunded too!

  • We constructed and tried the Shark today and we love it, thanks so much for your recommendations all.

Today's other bits, in between feeling period nauseous and tired:

Admin including repeats of some competitions I've already entered to up my chances

Gentle small walk in between downpours to get some essentials from Aldo, found four McDonald's tokens

Bit more work on a client job

Refreshed V!inted listings and accepted an offer on an item

Used up some frozen leftover pizza and odds and ends of salad for lunch

Entered some competitions, entirely for cash and wine

    Did a receipt survey.

Not a terribly productive day but I'm feeling quite pleased with it considering I was fighting the temptation to go back to bed all day
  • That sounds reasonably productive to me - and especially on a day when you were feeling rough too!

  • Between period exhaustion and gale force winds (the weather, not me) there hasn't been much temptation to get steps in or push myself productive-wise, but some small things have been done:

Sold an item and put £10 in flat pot

Collected some Olio rolls and potatoes (from three minutes away), and picked up a packaging bag on the street I can use for V!nted

Worked on a job throughout the day

Had a bit of a panic on looking at my £50 voucher and seeing it had to be redeemed by Sept 24- fortunately I figured out that meant next year, not next week. I am not at my most intellectually sparkling atm 🙄😂

Watched a free lecture online which was interesting

Got some steps going to Aldo, where I felt a bit guilty for spending £1.09 on some own brand chocolate but I think I'll manage to get over it. Budget is looking a bit tight but not dreadful for the rest of the month but will be fine if this client who owes me for two jobs from two months ago pays me. Dear reader, they did _not_ pay on Monday as promised (by the way, is there a guide to how to put italics, bold etc on here? I've looked but can't find anything)

Found two McDonald's monopoly tokens, one of which was a station to keep my many Fenchurch Street stations company. I'm fairly sure I must own actual Fenchurch Street Station by now

That little lot has taken up all my meagre energy so this evening is some comforting leftovers, some comforting red wine, some comforting chocolate, and some comforting reading

Hope all your weeks' (week's? weeks?) are progressing well and no-one's been blown so far away by the wind they have to pay for a cab back x
