Ah, thanks @kayannie, I'm sure it wasn't there before! Once again, I feel very stupid. Seems to be a theme on this diary, not sure I wanted that much of an insight into myself! Appreciate you informing me ☺

In your quote it looks like I've typed 'fanOpcy' but in my post it looks as I intended; 'fancy'- have I done something stupid format-wise do you (or anyone!) know? I'm quite capable of making myself look stupid without computer coding doodah joining in!

If you look at the My Profile under Quick Links it tells you what each of the Badges against your name mean.  For example the 100 means you've posted at least 100 posts now; once you get to 1000 you'll get a 1000 badge by your name.
  • I am not sure what the terminology is down South but you should also look into advanced medical directive. It might be included in your process (I don't know) but it's the thing that tells your gp etc what you want to happen if you were unable to make medical decisions yourself.

The OP has been showing for some time but it is only recently that it is in bright red & therefore very noticable.  It can be quite helpful on threads that get taken off track, not normally debt free or mortgage free ones, as it can be too easy to lose track of who it was that actually asked a question in the first place.  The energy boards are a prime one for this.  When the OP original poster has gone off to try the things suggested & everyone piles in.
  • Thanks for your comments all 😊

    Today's things:

    Did a Sainsbo receipt survey

Moved a chunk sum from zopa to tandem for the better interest rate- had managed to get over £100 in interest so put a share of that in the tax pot and the rest in the flat pot

Did some wussy situps to try to make up for lack of activity this week what with period

    Did a Coop survey

    Put up some Vinted listings

Did a new survey provider survey for £2

Did a little Aldo shop, got a couple of beers to have at home rather than going to the pub- I'm impressed with their own brand Summer Ale with Peach @EssexHebridean especially at £1.35 for a bottle!

Found four McMo tokens, one of which I didn't have

Also found three lovely hydrangea heads on the street so I brought those back and they're now artistically arranged (put in a variety of small vessels where their tiny stems could reach water) and will be much admired

Now doing the free paper cryptic crossword with mum (competitively!) and will have a peculiar pasta leftovers dinner to clear some of the multiple tupperware containers with a few bites of a portion each in them

Hope everyone has a lovely Friday evening x
  • Ooh I’d missed that beer in Al’s - might have to wander in for a look as it sounds extremely similar to Badger’s “Golden Glory” which I love but they only do as an occasional special these days. (Also from Badger - and more regularly available in supermarkets is “Master Stoat” - a fabulous coffee stout!) Thanks for the tip!

How lovely finding those hydrangea heads - that’s one of my planned purchase plants for the house, possibly in a big tub in the front. I love a hydrangea!

Mr Blackcats lost his swimming pool locker £1 coin between the car and the pool so keep a look out for that when you are saving snails and clearing up litter created by McD's.
I had to try very hard not to act like a patronising parent and lecture him on keeping his £1 very safe in his bag until he needed it and whining on about how few £1 coins are available to replace the lost one.  I could easily have resorted to "money doesn't grow on trees".
  • Ooh I'll keep an eye out for Master Stoat @EssexHebridean

That did make me giggle @Blackcats
Is it the same sort of set-up as trolley tokens? Could be a low-ish budget stocking filler for you there!

Today I had given myself permission for a lovely lie-in so of course I woke up at normal weekday time and couldn't get back to sleep despite being knackered. Obviously I'll spend all week oversleeping and dragging myself out of bed 🙄

But after usual admin and household bits, I decided to seize the day and get a good walk in dropping off a vinted sale to the lockers, and spotted two McMo tokens. Somewhat concerned as the InPost locker that opened already had a parcel in it that was to be collected by a receiver. Didn't know what to do so just put my parcel in with it and hoped if anyone else uses the same locker they're not a thief...

On getting in from this tiring walk I obviously had another email saying I'd sold an item on vinted and they'd chosen the same delivery method 😂 All money in the pot though (she repeats to her weary joints)

Entered some competitions- today I'm mostly looking forward to winning a National Trust Christmas hamper

Did a new survey provider survey, it's the same set up as Yougov so you can't cash out until you get to £50, I'll continue with it and if they're a pain when it comes to getting over the withdrawal amount I'll not do any more with them. We shall see

Updated my vinteds and got another small sale

    Did a Coop receipt survey

Did some reading, realised I have seven books on the go, which is fine but I really should prioritise finishing a couple before I start any more!

Went for a few local beers with a very dear old friend who's leaving the country for a year or two next week, was so lovely spending time together and we'll try to do it again before he goes. It might put me in a lesser budget position for next month but I won't be getting into debt, and making the most of time with a close mate of over quarter of a century is worth tightening the belt a little bit for

And on my way there I found 1p and a Peter Robinson DCI Banks book on the street, so things are already starting to balance out 😁
  • Perfectly reasonable to have 7 books on the go at once a la Rory Gilmore. Mine sometimes looks like a book for my bag, a book for the bathroom, a lazy book, a reference book...
