  • One must have a book ready for all reading moods @WelshmansDaughter

Not much to report today, did the usual admin and a youguv survey

Washed my hair (always going on the achievement list!)

Liddle has an offer on of £3.99 for a 600g tub of Quality street so I thought I'd do a price compare and think about stocking up for relatives Christmas gifts... Tescoo has them for £4 at Clubcard price- and the Cadburys brands have gone down to 550g the cheeky beggars! Will definitely be buying Quality Street or Celebrations tubs this year!

    Continued with reading

Wrote a letter to my penpal

Cut my nails properly as they had fallen apart with period

Prepared a vinted parcel to send tomorrow

Used up odds and ends for early dinner; Mr PIP and I are going to a pub quiz with friends this evening. Mr PIP had won a bar tab so only need to pay the tube fare. Wish us luck!
  • Well hurrah for Mr PiP winning the bar tab - that's a great start to a good night out isn't it!

Books - I'm a "one at a time" type of girl - just confuse myself if I try to read multiples, pus I can guarantee that the one I actually feel like reading won't be in a convenient place either...

  • But what do you do when you want to read but you're not in the mood for the book you're reading @EssexHebridean and @lucielle?! The thought of depending on just one book is slightly stressing me out 😂
  • Well we only went and won! Another bar tab so that'll be a budget pleasing way to have a catch up with our friends in the next month or so

Bits and bobs of housework, usual admin and an email from Shepherd Neame to say there's a free pint of cask beer available so I'll see if any plans can take advantage of that, that's a fiver saved if I'm meeting up with a mate anyway

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning a Sainsbos gift card, would be very helpful for Christmas

Booked smear test, no appointments available until the end of November!

Dropped off a vinted parcel and found four McDonald's Monopoly tokens, one of which wasn't high value but is completely new to us- I wonder if they release different 'properties' throughout the competition to keep people playing 🤔

I don’t really do mood reading, just start a book and keep going till it’s finished.

  • I do feel a bit like I'm just clogging up a bit of internet with this diary as it's not as if I have anything particularly useful to say, but hopefully it will prove to me that even if one is only capable of small efforts, put together they all add up... one day... hopefully!

    So today's things:

Yesterday we bought a multipack of maltesers to share with mum as she was feeling low as her friend, who sadly died today, was obviously fading.
The chocolate/thought was appreciated, but today I noticed one of the small packets had a tear so the contents will probably be inedible. Emailed the manufacturer just in case they feel like sending an apology voucher

Did a couple of coop surveys

Got free exercise walking to drop off a vinted parcel, and while in that area recycled a bag of plastic packaging

Got two McMo tokens from the street

    Had a client call

Did a new survey provider survey

This evening's dinner will be odds and ends of leftovers with a glass of budget but perfectly pleasant wine, and trying to get through more of my reading pile so that I can start afresh and hopefully get some more in the ziffit pile.

Hope everyone's week is going as well as can be x

Remember this is your diary and it’s for you to keep yourself in check. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t come up with a boatload of money saving tips it’s still worthwhile. So you’re not clogging up the internet 🙂

Sorry to hear about your mum’s friend 🙁
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Thanks on both counts @Sun_Addict it's much appreciated.
I guess what with the sadness of mortality in the air I'm feeling like my tiny efforts are pointless in terms of ever achieving anything so huge as a home. Which, to be fair to my miserable side, is completely accurate!
But one must keep on keeping on where's there's hope, I've just mislaid the hope bit today. Tomorrow's another day eh (preferably a better one)

Fingers crossed you will locate your hope tomorrow,
The death of your mum's friend is very sad and will impact on you both.
We enjoy your diary - you have a very witty writing style and your approach to your situation is inspiring.
