I love Christmas too. I am a sucker for the food items they sell in the NT shops. I've bought a few items already - I find buying a few bits and pieces every week soon mounts up and you don't notice the extra money as much as buying in one go. I also like the food items they do around Christmas time at Lidls.Debt free and Keeping on Track2

Sorry for my little faux pas this morning @Baron Dale. Didn't realise sharing codes was frowned upon. Not sure why we can't help each other out that way but heyho. I'm still £97 up using jam doughnut and will continue thus for groceries, fuel and other planned spendingI have borrowed from my future self

You can share codes, but only on the Referrers' board, so I'd try to find that.Signature removed for peace of mind1

What a night here! Torrential rain for hours and it’s still raining. Fortunately we are at the top of a hill but parts of the garden are still waterlogged! There is some flooding in others areas including some properties. Shopping this morning has been cancelled until later, although I will attend my hair appointment this afternoon.1 -
We are certainly all different in our outlooks and feelings.
Although I have lived in my current house for 20 years I would have no issue moving to another property. I do not tend to get attached to houses or cars and can move on from them without an issue.
As far as equity release is concerned at the moment I wouldn’t consider it, but in the future if it meant having more comforts and an easier lifestyle, I would investigate the process. However I don’t have any direct descendants to consider. I have also made it clear that anything I leave to my nephews and nieces should be seen as a bonus and not a given. Fortunately, they agree.Downsizing would not be an issue for me. A 2 to 3 bedroom detached bungalow or smaller detached house would be fine. After being detached for so long I don’t think I could be attached again lol. When I am alone and, hopefully not for a few years yet, I will have to move as other beneficiaries will require their 30% of the house. I have no problem with this. Indeed I asked for it to be this way rather than me living on here with a lifetime trust thing. I also don’t want to rattle around in a large house with 4/5 bedrooms lol!The one thing I wouldn’t compromise on is having a garden. There is no way I would move to an apartment. I don’t like the idea of sharing a building with strangers lol! I did own a flat before moving into this house and hated it. The flat was spacious and lovely but I didn’t like the communal side of things.3 -

Well the last few days have been incredibly wet! Torrential rain for several hours a day. Floods in several places, which is fairly unusual for this area. Luckily we are on top of a hill.
I managed a long forest walk in between the rain bursts of about an hour which was enjoyable.
I have also got back into my exercise routine.
i have been spending from pots. I purchased 3 long nightshirts from 3 different companies online all at a good price to see who is best. I’m pleased to say that they are back in fashion lol, although I have always preferred them from a young age! Nightcaps are available too.
I have also purchased several Christmas presents which were on an offer for half price!
I have also ordered a new paper shredder.I spent a couple of hours last night writing out the majority of my Christmas cards ready to be posted on December 1st.. All purchased at a very good discount last January.
It is pouring with rain again this morning. Plan is bed change so bed linen and towels are ready for collection by the laundry company. It’s great not having to worry about washing and drying that stuff. It always comes back fresh and beautifully ironed !
I may then wrap some presents!Financial update will be posted on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Best wishes.6 -
Could I be nosy and ask a) who's put nightshirts back in fashion? and b) whose did you rate?
Asking for a friend, did some research last year but £90? For a single nightshirt???Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
If you google long nightshirts lots of online companies are flagged up. There is one company where they are quite expensive and £90 is not the most expensive on that site. I will let you know when they arrive about the quality. I think altogether I paid about £90, or so for my 3. To be honest I am not worried about the cost. If the most expensive site has a sale I may buy one of theirs as they are very good quality and stylish. I think they have become more fashionable as lounge wear has become more popular. I prefer them because I do not like anything around my waist at night😉😱1

Ah, I haven't repeated last year's research which offered next to nothing!Signature removed for peace of mind0
