Wet and windy weather continues. We are hunkering down for Storm Ciaran now!. All garden furniture put away as well as pots and containers in safe places. Plenty of food in and going to sit it out lol!3

Good Morning.
Here is my financial round up for the month of October.
My main current (NW) account started the month with £1214.10 and ended it with £1188.86. Total income was £1654.67. A total of £1680.69 passed through the account either being spent or as I put it ‘sent’. (To other accounts or pots or savings or my S&S ISA).
The co-op current account now has a balance of £1167.57.
I spent a total of £650 from various pots to cover travel, birthdays, clothing, house and garden maintenance/goods and early Christmas expenditure.
£200 was sent to S&S ISA
I have now stopped doing surveys completely.
I also have also spent all Boots and M&S vouchers!
I have just spent an hour or so reorganising my budget and savings spreadsheet to make it more relevant to my needs. I have also streamlined the number of budget/savings pots.
Looking ahead to November additional spending will be in preparation for Christmas using the allocated budget pot.

Well for the first time in days it is not raining! It has literally poured here day after day. There has been localised flooding and in some places cuts to the power and water supplies. Fortunately I live on a hill! The Sun is out today and the sky is clear! I need to cut the lawns one last time, but they are far too wet at the moment. Maybe by Tuesday it will be possible.
Plan for today is check out the garden as best I can, maybe give the car a wash and then a walk.Financially I am happy with the changes I made to my budget and the restructuring of the savings pots. However, when adjusting the monthly payment from my main account to my back up current account I may have inadvertently cancelled the monthly standing order. I will have to check that out tomorrow!
I have received an appointment for my follow up CT scan in December to check that the day surgery went as planned. I have also been asked to book a blood test as part of my annual well man review. In addition I have been placed on the waiting list for the orthopaedic clinic regarding a ganglion that has developed on the base of my little finger on my left hand. At the moment it is not causing much of an issue but I want to get removed before it does. Quite impressed with how quickly I heard from the hospital as I only went to my GP last Tuesday!I have also purchased a dehumidifier for when I may need to dry clothes in the house. I have a tumble dryer but sometimes only small amounts need to be dried off in the house.I have also purchased a Christmas wreath for the front door that has led lighting. I am pleased with that and saved some money using vouchers and online offers. I am waiting for the Christmas candles to arrive that I have ordered online. They have the Frankincense and Myrrh scent which I love at Christmas. For the past couple of years most shops seem to have stopped selling them favouring the Winter Spice aroma instead.Anyway time to get up and face the sunny day!4 -
Sunny here in South Wiltshire as well today
. Slight nip to the air, but thats what we get for getting up too early.
Spent yesterday removing leaves and debris from the recent storm from the grass and borders. Felt very satisfied when I ended up with a full green wheelie bin, 4 extra black bags and a lawn I could actually see looked green again! I plan to give both lawns a final cut on Tuesday as well.
This morning we treated ourselves to breakfast in town and then had a walk up the river to check out the recent works that the environment agency are doing to prevent flooding. Trying to keep the faith that it will look better when they finish next spring, but it is still a terrible mess at the moment.
Off now to hang up a load of washing to catch the sunshine while it lasts.....

Previous GP (long since retired) advised to whack ganglion with family bible. I didn't try this as didn't have one to hand but my ganglion vanished of its own accord after a session cleaning kitchen units using a significant amount of elbow grease. Will be interested to know what medical science recommends nowadays.I have borrowed from my future self

I think my one is going to need treatment as it is causing some changes to the bone structure in the palm of my hand and beginning to affect the movement of my little finger.0

I was interested to read that you had ordered nightshirts @[Deleted User]. Looking for some for my OH but struggling to see any under £95 which seems a lot when it is a trial. Looked on cott0n tr@ders but not in his size. Hope you don't mind being asked but wondering where you had ordered yours from?0

I looked on ebay lots of companies there, and an online company called LightInTheBox. If you search long nightshirts for men lots of ideas come back.1

I've had several ganglions over the years which have just disappeared on their own, although none of them were anywhere that caused a problem. Like you @Dansmamm the advice I received from various people was to hit them with a bible. Didn't fancy that so let them go on their own. I hope yours are sorted quicklyMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I have been informed that hitting them can be very dangerous. In some people such action has led to sepsis!0
