I'm still working and am in the 2015 scheme. I did have something like 9 months in the 2008, which I drew in April and the small lump sum for that paid for some work on my home. The benefit or not by changing the date of accessing is something that I'm very much on top of.
I only wish I had been in the 1995 scheme, as I would have retired at 60 on a very good pension but only joined the NHS briefly in 2014 and again in 2019.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I was in the 1995 scheme for 13 years until claiming at 60 so its nice to know that was the right thing to do. Then I went back to work after a month enforced leave but only part time, at that point in NEST pension as you werent allowed to rejoin. About a year ago they let us rejoin the scheme (2015) as long as you came out of NEST which I thought would be a good idea because otherwise no "death in service " cover, my dad died in the 1960's while working for post office but they gave us nothing and left mum in financial straits. Anyway due to this thread I looked up the 2015 rules and found it was a kind of final salaryish scheme which was a surprise as I thought I would just get my contributions back. But I only work 10 hours a week these days at band 3 so it won't be much.
So thanks everyone for info!

I had my hand surgery last Thursday. All went well. Hand is now in a part plaster cast and bandaged. Absolutely excellent care and attention during the day surgery unit stay.
Now another 10 days wait until the stitches come out. I then have to do a bit of hand therapy. Hopefully, can return to driving in about 3 weeks time. I am getting used to just having the one hand for a while, although I can use 3 fingers and thumb a little. The bandaged hand must not get wet at all so have to be careful. I bought a hand and arm cover for the shower, which is working very well.
Spending will certainly be down in he next 2 to three weeks lol. As I can't drive for a while I probably will not have to buy fuel for alt least 3 more weeks lol!
I am still very pleased to have paid off the loan after only three weeks!
I have just paid £500 into my cash ISA as a first step towards rebuilding savings. Another £250 has gone to the annual expenses savings account. I will add another £450 into annual expenses savings before the end of the month.6 -
