At least you are only restricted for a few weeks.Don’t blame you for closing down the survey account. Seems a bit over the top wanting a photo of you and your driving licence!Do you have a medical savings pot. Might be worth starting one if not. My DS & his gf get the midnight ferry when visiting the island as it’s cheaper but I can see it might not suit you arriving at that time for the hospitalIs there a big backlog with NI ?0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I used the travel pot for accommodation and travel. Fortunately stent removal will be at the local hospital.
There could well be a backlog but I will check in a couple of weeks. I don’t want 4 or 5 months worth leaving my account all at once! I do have a pot of money saved for the NI that I can feed into the current account as necessary.
Yes hopefully completely sorted by end of the month but planning on beginning to return to normal gradually from tomorrow.
Dentist on Wednesday and hair on Thursday plus the chiropodist visiting Tuesday week. Got to keep up my appearance lol5 -
Gradually improving but somewhat frustrated by having to limit physical activity each day. Hair appointment was brought forward to yesterday so both that and dentist were sorted yesterday. I have also replaced all dining room and sitting room rugs which has made a great improvement to the feel of the rooms.
During the next couple of days I am replacing my study desk chair and putting in another book case. I have also put a new rug in that room too!
The lawns need mowing but they will have to wait until the weekend and then I will do a section at a time. When fully recovered I need to trim the shrubs ready for winter, clear the summer pots and containers, paint the new part of the fence and generally ensure the garden is tidy.Financially things are ticking, along although spending has been higher than expected. However, all spends have come from allocated budgets and their own pots.
My mother was 84 this and several relatives came yesterday evening around for a fish and chip supper and birthday cake. Very pleasant evening.
So today’s plans are to assemble the book case, replace batteries in smoke alarms and some general household regular tasks. I may try a little walk as my exercise routine has almost ceased since the day surgery.I’m probably being impatient as I know by the end of October I will be fully on track with routines and tasks.
Best Wishes to all.7 -
Good to hear you are improving as we get older recuperating seems to take longer. Having officially end the working part of my life in June my days seem to be filled with endless tasks where nothing is actually done. The days fly by but l have nothing to show for them, it hasn’t helped that l have a trapped nerve in my shoulder for which l am having physio but l think lm now using this as an excuse. I am resolved that by the start of October l will have some routine to my days and set some milestone tasks to aim for. I used to love a list and tick things off when completed so that might be the way to go for identifying what needs to be done maybe room by room, l will ponder on how to formulate my list over the next few days.Count down to retirement 20233

Take time to adjust. After years of work there is nothing wrong with just pottering about doing nothing in particular. Gradually things will settle and new opportunities arise.4

Today didn’t turn out too badly. New bookcase assembled and put in position in the study. Books and papers sorted. New desk chair ordered, which should arrive tomorrow. Smoke alarms given new batteries. I also had the car cleaned inside and out as I can’t do that myself at the moment. I also fed and watered my sister’s dog.
Tomorrow plan is to assemble the new desk chair and research possible new all in one computer purchase as my current model needs replacing. Window cleaner has just sent a text to say he is coming tomorrow.
At the weekend I will cut the lawn section at a time and rest in between.2 -
I know it’s hard to slow down when you are normally fit and active. Make sure you don’t overdo it. The lawn could wait until next week. 😉0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I received an email yesterday from school asking if I wanted to keep my casual hours examination invigilator contract open. I know it’s daft but I am bit torn about what to do. It is easy work and has the potential to bring in about £1500 a year but can also be a little boring. I’ll give myself a day to think about it. I am keeping my DBS up to date ( I pay an annual DD to keep it current) just in case I decide to do some voluntary work or whatever.2

If it doesn't interfere with any other plans like holidays, why not? But don't do if it makes you dread going in.

Have to add it is not about the money but more about severing the link. As I said daft I know !2
