It's taken a bit of searching but I've finally found a 'Mark as Read'. It's a PITA though.
Go to 'All Boards' and at the top right of each category there is a three-dots menu with 'Mark Read' in it.
So it appears that if you want to 'Mark all as read' then you have to do each topic individually?
EDIT- It does work BUT - if you do click one it will jump you to the head category of that topic rather than staying on 'All Boards'.
eg. clicking this one jumps you to the Banking & Borrowing category rather than staying on All Boards.

Small niggle:  'latest post' on a board does not show the time of that latest post, so I don't know whether I have to check that board for new posts or not.  It would 'only' save about 2 clicks/taps per board, but when everything on here is taking longer anyway it's just extra annoying.

Very annoying: links *still* don't open in a new tab without right clicking/long pressing in order to choose that.

How do we add alt text for images?  All of the talk about accessibility with the previous failed rollout of the commenting box led me to believe that would be a function coming with any upgrades.

Having an underline button is something the old forum didn't have either.  That's a niggle still (but don't replace the strikethrough, please, just add underline).

I can't fault people for not reading all of the pages before posting, but in case anyone sees this and is under the impression that the changes have been good for mobile users (a comment I've seen from desktop users a lot through the pages) - it's not.  There's not the wasted space either side, but the rest of it isn't any better.

I can't even see the forum on my mobile, it's an IPhone 11 so should be ok, it was before the upgrade and now it's just a blank page.

    That occurred to me too.
I asked earlier why the # of 'thanks' needed to be shown.
Get of of that and replace it with the time of the latest post.

A feature that hasn't changed but that would be really appreciated is the email notification for bookmarked threads.

At present you get an email for every single post in a bookmarked thread, which can be a lot of emails if a thread is busy. A much better solution is to send a single notification for the first new post on each thread and then no more notifications until the user has viewed that thread. This works really well on other forums.

It's horrible - especially the Card effect on posts which has very little contrast between the title bar and post .   Text size on posts is way too big - especially in contrast to the articles in the side bars.   This appears to be even worse in the editor.

It's just not a comfortable reading experience, which is a major issue for me for health reasons.   I'll be using the forum less until there's some changes to address the comments in this thread.

I can't dismiss my notifications. When I press the bell icon and then "Mark All Read" nothing happens. If I follow the notification links and read the content it makes no difference - the same notifications are still there when I click the bell again.

Just a point about the lack of contrast/ dark theme - enabling a dark theme isn't a universal solution.  Dark themes hurt my eyes, I can't read more than a few words of light text on a wholly dark background*, it moves around and gives me a headache.  I know I am not unique there, marginal maybe but certainly not the only one.
(*The things like the 'preview', 'save' and 'post comment' buttons are fine because they are surrounded by a light background; it's when the whole page or whole large boxes are dark that it's a problem.)

The solution needs to be increasing contrast in the light theme.  As well as enabling a dark theme for those who want/need it.
