We aren't being offered the fix - only available tariff is NextFlex.  Is it only offered to certain postcodes?
Nobody has mentioned postcodes only having previously had a fix with them.

I think that although a bit ambiguous under the T&Cs you are only charged an exit fee if you change supplier rather than tariff...11.2 "You can arrange to switch to another of our tariffs or to another supplier at any time without giving notice, but if you switch supplier before we send you your renewal notice we may charge you an exit fee. See your confirmation letter for details."

I can't see that they will charge you a change of tariff fee if you stay with them

I don't understand their logic, there's nothing obvious about it. I was never offered any of the previous fixes, but I can see the v4 now, so maybe wait and keep on checking?

I think that they are dipping their toes in the water and the more activity on customer fixes the more likely they will offer to least a wider internal audience. I guess at this point the won't put out an open market deal because Admin could be drowned with applications so they are probably expanding it bit by bit to cope with demand. They'll be wanting commitment so that they can forward plan block purchase of fuel and I think that gradually new offers will become available to jump on to. It may end up that you have to tariff hop as new deals appear. There's probably little admin for tariff transferring.
The boss of Centrica has already warned not expect the prices to drop away massively any time soon.
I guess that anyone who has been with EOn for a long time should be phoning up to see if it's available to them.

Self contradictory - fact they allow tariff switching from 12 month fixed rate without exit fees - no commitment.

It says they fix will save me £3 per month. Doesn't seem enough if the price cap will go down again in October.
Does the fix fee always apply  (octopus ?)  or can you transfer to another fix (BG wording) or any other internal (SVT or fix - EOn Next loyalty V4 etc).

That sort of detail makes the £3 decision hard to easy.

But for many the £3 and stability for the year will be more than enough.

No one is currently predicting a return to last winters £4200 - but such predictions are not  risk free.

I've had a look at the loyalty fixed 4 tariff as I had an email offering it to me. However after working it out it doesn't seem worth it for me. With my current usage it saves me £60 over the 12 months. Although someone has been told you can switch to another E.on tariff with no exit fees how easy is it to do this? Do other tariffs available on your account show once your tied in or would I have to call them.

You are committing though by agreeing to stay with the company for the next 12 months with a get out of jail exit fee if you leave before the end. You may have to pay an exit fee only if you change suppliers. It's to stop a mass exodus if a significantly better deal comes onto the open market that they can't compete with. The boss of Centrica has already come out and said that he doesn't expect the open market rates to drop significantly any time soon. The way I read it in the contract I received and the T&Cs is that you are committing to a 12 month fix (subject to exit fee) with fixed tariffs but if a better fixed tariff comes along you can jump on to that free of charge. The only part that is fixed on the deal I've got is the committal to stay with the company for 12 months without having to incur an exit fee. I've got a hunch that fixed tariffs will track just below the variable tariff which means that you've got to keep an eye out for better fixed deals within the company and jump to them. If the variable market price goes higher you will be on a better deal. It's usually cheaper for companies to block purchase. It would also increase the market value of the company by having a stable customer base. Having a deal in advance and having a guaranteed customer base will give the company more stability and bargaining power. Probably the main reason that it seems to be released block by block to EOn customers is to prevent the risk of Admin being deluged while they dip their toe in the water. Setting up a new account will take significantly more work that just transferring customers between tariffs and they will work on the premise that most won't bother for small adjustments.
There's effectively approx a 14% drop in your standing charge (45.39+14%=52.74) and a fraction off kwh. If, like me, you have solar panels or other renewables and use them efficiently the standing charge makes a significant difference.

Screenshot I previously posted today in reply to post of yours clearly states "free to switch across Eon Next tariffs"

I signed up for their V4 fixed tariff last month when it was offered to me.  My payments were meant to be £154.11 from 1 July.  Today they took a payment of £191.70 out of my account.  I have emailed them to ask why this is the case.  I'm not happy :(
