Karinski
Crewe to Chester take about 12 minutes and costs about £8 so making London to Chester return about £10 I calculate.0 -

Coach G has 1st class seats in and although you will not get the 1st class at seat service you do get the wider reclining seat and additional lighting.
It might be that all VIRGIN Pendalino routes will be operating the same policy as maybe not much 1st class business travel takes place during the summer.
So when booking ask for reserved seats in coach G.
Kerching!!
I can confirm that this is available on all Pendolino routes.0 -
UPDATE!!!
Bookings now available up to:
10 October 20080 -
Be aware, if you are travelling in August, that trains are being routed via Birmingham and the journey is taking 3 hrs 20 mins or so. Once September kicks in, the website is saying trains will be normal again, but I never entirely believe engineering work deadlines! If you have to travel then, head for coach G which will be downgraded from 1st class for at least a week into September, if I remember correctly.0

How annoying, no tickets available for 14th Aug!!
Oh well there's always National Express to fall back on. The only thing is I'm not actually going to Manchester which will mean I'll have have to pay the full fare. Well full fare with 10% discount that is.
Thanks all the same.0 -
I did this journey, arrived back yesterday. You just take your copies of your printed off ticket onto the train and ensure that you have THE payment card.
I'd like to get my parents down to visit from Edinburgh at xmas but it's unlikely that my mum will be able to fly due to her health so this is a fab deal.
They don't have a clue about computers and the web and I usually buy their tickets for them - anyone any idea if there is a way round having to show the actual card that paid for the tickets short of having them pay for it over the phone with me? Is it possible to do Manchester to Leicester on any of these deals or any special offers outside of these promotions for flexible travel dates in September?0

Looks like they've stopped this service? Only one more booking available then it's just blank.
A bit annoying that they don't accept Electrion/Switch too.. potentially a very good resource if it returns.0
