If you were to get the special fare for the Virgin Train from Euston to Manchester, could you use it to Chester? in other words, get off early and then get back on at Chester when you want to go back to Euston?

In theory yes, but I've never been on one that stops at Chester. It was Stoke On Trent - Stockport - Manchester Picadilly.

Does anyone know if this deal will extend to July? I really hope so!

I think the best thing to do is keep an eye on their website. Since these tickets have been in existence they’ve been extending their booking availability every month or so.

I doubt it as their terms & conditions specify:

    Break of Journey

You may not break and resume your journey at a station in-between except to change to/from appropriate connecting trains where these are shown on your ticket(s).

You must board and alight at the stated departure and arrival stations. You may not board or alight at otherpoints on the route. If you do a penalty or full fare may apply.

    Hi,

Does anyone know if the fare is the same as an adult for my 7 year old son for these special fares from London to Manchester? I know they are very cheap already, but one can always live in hope that there will be a discount for a child. :p

    Thanks.

As far as I can see on the booking site, it only asks for the number of passengers and does not specify between adult or child. But with tickets on there for £1, £3, £7 or £9 it really is a great price anyway. If you're flexible then you can make sure you get the cheapest prices!

I meant to ask if anyone was having any problems with the booking site for the Virgin cheap fares, as everytime I go on it misses out 2 weeks in July - they were there earlier!

Yes it doesn't specify. You could try calling Virgin Trains 0121 689 6541.

What annoys me about these P@H ticket is why they have to have an availability limit. Why can't they just keep this offer open in the same way as Mega Bus/Train and National Express do with their Funfare tickets?

I didn't see your post earlier ollysmum. Try closing the page you're viewing then retry again. I do this with National Express Funfares when I hit the back button otherwise when you go forward again their prices are always shown at a higher price. Strange but true!
