    Hello!:hello:
Shez - those pies look yummy! Well done!

Penny-Pincher - I know you won't see this if you've had to stay in hospital, but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you anyway.

Scuzz I couldn't believe they didn't offer you time off in lieu! I dohope you're going to ask for some!

dlb - so sorry to hear about your poorly kids! hope they will get better really fast. Same goes for everyone else with poorly children, or who are poorly themselves.

((((HUGS)))) to all who are feeling stressed - which seems to be most of you atm!

Well DD2 is finally in labour:j :j :j , but things are progressing very slowly so far - she had a "show" last night and has been having contractions since, but although they're uncomfortable they haven't become any stronger, so she and her DH have gone for a walk in the hope that that will get things moving a bit. We were poised to rush over there to babysit DGS this morning, then she didn't need us! I noticed that in her book about pregnancy it says that "with a second or subsequent baby it's best to go into hospital once the contractions are 10 minutes apart, because they may suddenly get much stronger and more frequent right near the end" (which happened with my own 2nd and 3rd babies), but our local Maternity Unit is so busy that they currently tell people not to go in until they are having 3 contractions in 10 minutes. And yet the people in charge of the 4 local PCTs want to close the Unit, insisting it isn't needed! It beggars belief, especially as its lovely new midwife-led Birthing Centre has only recently opened!

I was just about to hoover upstairs to try and get warm - I'm wearing plenty of clothes but my hands and feet are freezing - but DH, who isn't well atm, has just announced he's going for a lie-down, so looks like I won't be hoovering after all. He did say to "give him a kick" if DD2 rings to say she needs us in a hurry!

We've done most of the Christmas shopping, and DH isn't well enough to go far afield so anyone whose present hasn't been bought yet (only DD1''s husband, i think, as he couldn't decide what he wanted - he has got a chocolate car from Thornton's though, so better than nothing) will have to wait til after Christmas/new baby/ MIL's operation etc.

Better go now - must at least hoover the living room:A

    Best wishes

Right, I will have another go at posting; my last one went into space.

(((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one……………Penpin, thinking about you……………

Funeral went very well, saw people I have not seen for years, managed to get back in time for youngest son and GS &GD to visit, they stayed for over an hour. DGS has AD what ever, but he was not too bad this afternoon…..they seem to have got hold of it fairly quickly and he is doing quite well at school.

We have to visit the library tomorrow and I forgot to get a loaf for toast yesterday, so will have a quick trip into Tesco for that at the same time. I need to put the bread maker on……….fish and chips for supper tonight so OH can cook for once.

After the lunch on Wednesday my freezer has some spaces at last, so not so much worry about how I am going to get my shopping in the freezer until this time next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just had a really nice surprise; the residents who were at the lunch on Wednesday have bought me an orchid as a thank you, how nice is that.

Well I am going to sort out some laundry and take it down, I am running out of nightshirts…………I only do a delicate wash when I have a full load, but I will be changing the sheets, so clean nightie needed and the draw is empty.

    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Afternoon all,

    Saxy1...condolences

    PenPin...good luck at hospital

Have not been around for last couple of days...my friend who is alone and was expecting her baby on 26th started labour at 3.30 am Wednesday, went in to hospital far too early, we came home, collected DD2 and DGD1 from airport...flight delayed one hour leaving Heathrow, got back to have something to eat and off to Maternity hospital again at 9pm, laboured all night and delivered 8 lbs 12 oz baby girl at 6.10, all well...eventually got home at 8, fell into bed, woke at 11.30 when friend who had arranged to drop in for coffee arrived, got another couple of hours around tea-time.

I really felt as if I was not going to be able to continue functioning, but slept well last night...to be wakened this morning at 7 by my visitors from Holland...they had been caught in traffic in both France and England and missed their Holyhead /Dublin crossing so came on next one...at least there is only one more to arrive and she will be driving so hopefully that is the end of the hiccups!

Still lots to do before my Christmas baby...who has no name as her mother was convinced she was a boy!
