Just phoned the local tyre place (my stomach was fluttering as I don't have a clue what I'm talking about) - anyway, they seemed really nice and I managed to give them all the information that they required without any pauses!!!
Of course, sod's law dictates that they don't have any in stock at the moment but they're ringing me back (supposedly...) as to when they can get some in for me!!!! :beer:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

Hi All
Fingers crossed for PP & big hugs to Saxy.
Thank heavens I took the lodger to the coach stop & stayed with her till she got on, she kept trying to get on the coach to Bath instead of to London, if she had got on the wrong one, no doubt she's have expected me to go & get her. She only took 2 cases & they let her put them in the hold. I've no idea how long she's going for, she can't decide, it may be Boxing day or she might decide to go to family in Ealing, which she told me today isn't in London! Maybe there is another one. I made sure she had the phone number for National Express & from now on I'm not answering her calls till the New Year. Hubby keeps telling me I look like !!!!!! & I know it's the stress of having her here that's causing it. I'm seriously considering looking for a 2nd job so I don't need to have a lodger any longer.
I did the last of my food shopping at Sainsbugs as it is next to the coach stop, I need to pop up the road to my DD2 to drop of some of the shopping I got for her & then I think I'll hibernate till Christmas is over.
Hugs Hester

Hi everyone. Got up this morning, got ready to go out, OH was complaining coz i had just spotted the avon grabbit and had decided to place order before we went out. I got in the car and ... it wouldn't start (he had had the engine running but I wanted to borrow keys to lock door to save rummaging for mine) he was furious!!! so we missed our appointment and my name was mud!!! then we went into town and I went in to PO to draw some money out to pay a bit extra off mortgage and the teller told me I could not withdraw at branch and had to do it by post, she gave me a form that I shoved in my bag. I drew some money out of another account and made the payment as I intended. Then, when I got home I looked at the form and it blatently said on the back, that I could withdraw from PO after all, so I was furious. It's been one of those days so far. Hoping for improvement this afternoon!!! Hope everyone is having a good day. Better go, he's just had a little whine that I'm on here-but he was laughing-that's because he knows I can't help myself!!! lolGE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hi all - it seems like the real Christmas panicking madness has descended on the thread!
SAXY1 - so sorry about your sad news.
PENPIN -(((hugs))) to you.
TRU - that's one of my favourite Christmas songs - I love it.
Well, I had to go to the bank - no queue, what's going on?, then I had to nip into Savers to get toiletries and some more Lemsip - they're a lot cheaper than the supermarkets or Superdrug, and again, no queue. Then I went to the Co-op - slightly mad in there but not annoyingly so. They always have local children helping with packing the bags at this time of year, which is a real help. They collect money for charity so I was more than happy to donate. Two girls packed almost everything away for me - a real luxury. Then I handed in my coupons and got £21 off the bill. I nearly died when it came to £98.82 (although I don't know why I was surprised because I had bought alcohol as well and other extras) but the coupons brought it down to £77.82. I was delirious with excitement about that! A real saving.
Anyway, the shopping is still in the car but I was desperate for a cup of coffee so I had to have that first and, then, of course, I had to just check in here to catch up with you all.
I'm going to put the shopping away, have some lunch and then get on with the wrapping up. I've sort of been ignoring the ironing all week and it has just jumped up and bitten me - where did all that come from? I may just ask DH to do it tomorrow.
DH suggested we have fish and chips from the chippie for dinner tonight but I know neither of us will want to go out and get them in the cold and dark, plus I have a feeling that everyone else in the neighbourhood will have the same idea; I tried to get one of those Indian 'meals for two' in a bag but the Co-op didn't have any so I've compromised and we will have oven chips and frozen haddock fillets with HM rolls to make butties with, so that should be an easy meal.
Well, I'd better unpack the car - I should have got petrol but I forgot; I'll leave it till Monday when I take my Mum up to meet DS2 and GF's new mad-as-a-box-of-frogs kitten. With any luck, my DH might fit the new toilet seat that is still propping up the wall in the loo. If I threaten to do it myself, he soon get his tools out!
Anyway, love you and leave you and will check in later. Hope everyone's day is going smoothly although TATTYCATH's got off to a bad start as did DLB's.
HESTER - I'm so glad you have finally got her out of your hair even if it ends up being for not very long. I think she has caused you a lot of stress - I take my hat off to you for how you have kept your cool. She would have driven me completely bonkers by now.
Cheerio!

Haven’t been around much lately. So I apologise if I have missed anything important and send you a big hug if you feel you need one.
Well I’m all ready for Christmas just waiting for the big shop to be delivered tomorrow night (better not come while strictly is on!)
Hope everyone else is ready or getting there at least.
For Xmas there will be me, OH his mum and my mum. I’ve not seen MIL for a good while, probably because her other son is now living with her (when it suits him) and is coming off heroin. (Again)
We had him here in the summer and I told him then that he could get stuffed if he thought he was treating our house like the priory every six months when he fancied coming off the stuff. I would help anyone but with that stuff he was told one chance saloon.
Anyway he asked a few weeks back to come here and after a long chat with OH we said no. I said then I thought he was back on it....I’m as good as a witch because he was! I’m hoping we don’t get asked to have him for Xmas.
Enough of the wonderful goings on in my life.
I have noticed TRU‘s songs (loving them!)
Hope TAPLADY and MRS MIX are ok.:hello: :hello:
Will be around more in the next few days now I’m all sorted!
Chow for now ellie
