Morning:santa2:
Oh Aussie, poor you, too hot
Haven't been out yet, but bet it's freezing again.
Braving Somerfield today to get my turkey crown (hopefully), and then one last present for my sisters GS. Already bought home something, then noticed the little letters 'not suitable for under 36 months' and he's 2 1/2
DH finishes today, so Chinese for tea as I have now finished for Christmas
Have a good day everyone, and hugs to anyone feeling down. I'm not using that grouphug icon any more since someone pointed out what it actually is :eek:You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning all
Hugs to all who need them and to all those of you who are poorly and have poorly children.
UP early to study. At least I know what I want to write about now which is a great bonus.
Spoke to Mum yesterday only to find out she had had a fall. Thankfully nothing broken but she had a whole year of being very ill not so long ago wher she broke various things and was in and out of hospital with her diabetes.
Off to do the last bits of shopping later and pick up the turkey. OH wants to have people over on Xmas eve, he's got a thing about parties. I can't say I'm keen. I'd rather veg and watch Carols from Kings. I really am anti-social as I've got older:rolleyes: .
Have a good day everyone:A xxx0 -
Good morning
I thought I'd pop my head in - mainly for some motivation. Although 95% of grocery shopping and wrapping etc is done, house continues to have a party without me knowing. Full of Christmas clutter and stuff, had a really good go on Sunday but it keeps coming back !
Kids finish school at 2 both will beat me home this afternoon, hubby doesn't finish til Monday.
My plan is to fling boogie - again, change all beds, sofa throws and reduce ironing pile by at least 50% this afternoon.
Really want to enjoy my week off, no-one to entertain, just us this year. The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

Good Morning All
Doesnt seem as frosty today but is still very dark outside so cant really tell.
I dont have to go anywhere today :j so will be hitting the housework, washing and ironing. Must do the wages today - normally do them on a Tuesday but they wont get paid in time.
All wrapping done, just need to sort out the wii when the kids arnt around - easy said than done. Might see if sis will have ds for a while but not sure what she is doing today.
Have put some photos up in the hall and it is looking very nice now - will be lovely when the carpet is down which will be 2nd Jan. Glad its not done for Xmas as we have loads of kids here and sis kids are very accident prone - also mum brings her dog which insists on going upstairs.
Need to chase docs today for OH's scan and also phone the farm shop to see if they are open Monday. Think will also book our cinema outing to Fred Claus on Sunday.
So feeling I am getting there thankfully.
Have a great day.

WEll, DH has just gone. I've just checked internet banking and the invoice he put in for work done two weeks ago has only been part paid so I shall be on the phone chasing that up, although I think the accounts department there is now closed for two weeks. Like DOGROSE, I could do without having to spend valuable time doing someone else's job! It makes it so difficult to plan moneywise.
AUSSIE - you would not believe how cold it's been here! Colder than I remember for years. My pond didn't thaw at all yesterday and all the cars are frosted up. Looks very pretty but feels horrible!
DOGROSE - how on earth do they think families cope with same-day appointments at surgeries? I hope you manage to get DS seen today.
Re choccie - I keep getting offered reduced Cadbury's Turkish Delight! The local petrol station has the big bar right next to the till for only £1 - and I have to get some petrol today! I have tins and boxes of chocolate ready for Christmas but there is something about the Turkish Delight - the sort of 'Colin Firth' of the chocolate world!
NICOLA - if you're reading this, good luck - it sounds as if the new arrival is imminent!
(((Hugs))) to everyone today - I think we all need some. I'll be so glad when it's Christmas Eve evening and too late to do anything else! I'm planning on today being my last proper food shop and then I'll just visit the local shops for some extra milk on Monday and take my Mum to the village just to soak up the atmosphere.
Well, off to have a shower so will call back later.

Good morning everyone. Didn't get on yesterday - DH has finished w*** and was being a demon with the hoover, so I was worried that if I sat down for too long, he'd hoover me up, too
Very excited - we get our tree today :j :xmastree: :snow_laug :xmassmile :rudolf: DH will get it into its pot tomorrow morning, then we'll decorate tomorrow evening once it's gone dark, with a few glasses of mulled wine and a CD of carols. We have a tradition of buying a tree decoration for each of the Small Penguins each year. They're wrapped and on the mantelpiece.
Did all my wrapping yesterday, made 50 mince pies, and some HM puff pastry for a boxing day pie is in the freezer. Will be making another batch of mince pies today, some Florentines, and chocolate truffles.
The Small Penguins break up today, and DD is then off to a sleepover. DH, DS and I are out to a friend's for supper tonight, then we're all off to a party tomorrow evening.
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Morning all
No frost here today but still very cold, I've taken hubby to the station, had to go to the mainline Station as the train he wanted to catch from the local station was cancelled just after he got to the platform, good job I waited while he checked.
I'm fighting off a panic attack just thinking about getting the lodger on her coach, the traffic will be horrendous as the coach leave from a local retail park & I know she's taking 2 huge suitcases & 4 bags.
Have a good day all, I'll pop back later to let you all know how I get on.
Hugs Hester
