Hugs @beanielou that must be frustrating.
Lolling @f0xh0les
loved the superman quote @grandmanerd it must have helped reading that this morning as I chomped my way through a load of frogs consecutively without vomiting or even so much as a grimace! And on a Monday too!
Had a bit of a busy and frustrating day work wise but I was able to cope with it well and that’s what matters. Meditation and exercise done, NSD 3 and listened to a podcast in spanish. Bf has had some bad news work wise so I’m off home to try to cheer him up.Grateful for the gym, for gaining a bit of confidence at work, for being able to support bf while he works stuff out.Student loan £5655

I have been stabbing today, with one blade and with multiple blades. Fortunately it was stuffing on the receiving end of it.Today I am grateful I made a decision to turn down a contract, for coffee with a friend, for a neighbour who is going to lend me their gazebo at the weekend, for the kids playing outside now it's lighter and warmer (don't worry f0xh0les, not long to the shortest night and then the nights will get longer for you).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!10

Managed to do the first day of my new cleaning routine - tackling the bathroom. I went over the allotted 25 minutes by about 2 minutes. I wanted to do other tasks in my lunch break today, like drop off a bag of stuff at the CS and to sort a new home insurance policy, but by the time I ate lunch and cleaned, I didn’t have the time to do anything else. Hmm 🤔. Any ideas on how to fit it all in, turtles?Another question for the mama turtles… how do you get a 6-year-old to listen? DS’s ears seem to be turning to rubber. It can be really frustrating and I worry it’ll hold him back.Grateful today for swallowing frogs at work, for getting the bathroom clean, and for an easy dinner from a batch cook.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Did yoga before breakfast & hung the washing out. Had an inset day at work, doesn't the whole day in the library, but at least it's tidier now, all books logged into or out of the system & back in the shelves. Went for a walk at lunchtime with work bestie & she bought us a cake each 😋 phoned the drs after to ask advice about DH, she said she'd like to see him, so I took him up. Then she recommended him going to A&E, so we went there. They've decided to keep him in for a night or two, so I dashed home & packed him a bag, then took it in to him. I'm shattered now! DS3 had done some weeding for me & watered the plants in the greenhouse, DS1 brought the washing in. Have decided that the dishes will have to wait until tomorrow & will have to do double skips tomorrow too. It's the evening before our silver wedding anniversary, no celebrations here though, til DH is better.
Grateful DS's helping, the NHS, my friend's supportUse it up, wear it out

Sending hugs and dishes fairies your way Thrifty, via the DS's. I'm glad the doctor seemed on the ball and hope DH doesn't have to spend too many nights in being poked, prodded, observed etc, but does get the treatment needed. You sound calm, but I am sure you are burning off loads rushing around. Take a free pass from me on the extra skips if you want it!
Thanks @Toni'sfriend, @beanielou and others. It's the combination of fear, uncertainty and also the logistics of a set date to see the medical bods and a fear of them not being able to park or being late for Important Events With A Limited Time Slot And Impenetrable Contact Details that makes this waiting hard, but I know lots of turtles have had similar recently and I am relieved to know these feelings are fairly normal!
I've left a message for the breast care team to call me back to find out what mum's appt is all about, and managed to get through all the push 1 for... push 2 for ... push 1 to start again faff to jiggle dad's appointment for surgery, as the date on his letter doesn't exist - the day of week and date of month didn't join up..Easily done but frustrating!
Still on NSD #2 as bought DDs train ticket for tomorrow.... I am travelling to the big city for work so they pay my ticket, but she is coming with me on the same early train, so hers is a bit more expensive than I had budgeted, even with her railcard. Worth it for the company, although at 7am I anticipate any actual interaction between us might be limited! She is all packed up for her next uni summer course in Europe. I'm super excited about 24 hours off in London, as am not working tomorrow late afternoon or early Wed am. Am staying at a really not MSE hotel with a lovely pool and amazing building. Making the most if it as after DD departs super early on the 🚄 a friend is coming over to eat the breakfast DD won't have had time for and we'll use the hotel spa which is for guests only.
My thanks tonight to @f0xh0les as I am fairly sure it was you that mentioned switching bank accounts.... I have just completed my second switch and am about £375 better off! It's only been a bit of minor faffery as I am not great at remembering to complete things at the moment, so I got a locked out of one accounts online banking mid-switch, but folks, if I can do it, so can almost anyone! I am finding it quite interesting trying out the different online platforms to see what suits me best. My first switch was to FD and they made it so easy and had such responsive online chat agents, I was sad to switch away. I might go back when I have finished this little merry go round as so far I think they were the best.
In the spirit of a little bit better, while DD and I are at our own house for about 10 hours overnight - bonkers to live this way isn't it? - I have sorted out a bag for the doorstop collection of old soft toys from DN toybox, fabric, a couple of jackets that I've worn for years but didn't suit me - one of which was a hand me down left behind by a Airbnb guest, so very thrifty! . If I just do the tiniest bit of sorting to begin an area, then I find it so much less daunting to plan to come back and do a bit more. Have also washed the very special soft toys that are staying with us, in a box somewhere I guess...
sleep well turtles!9 -

Starlight - The one I really hate is the voice message (lots of pressing 1 and 2 and 3) asking you to confirm an appointment that you know nothing about because the original appointment letter hasn't been delivered yet and at the end of the message it says "if you cannot keep this appointment you will go back to the end of the queue". Why can't they just get a real live person to phone in the first place and give you an appointment that is suitable. Hope it all works out for you. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9
