Sunday. Slept until 6 am and then took my pills and had something to eat, dozed off until 8 am then brushed my teeth and showered, another doze then got dressed and downstairs before 10 am. Got more done than expected but stopped whilst I could still get upstairs (starting to doze off again). Lots of rubbish and recycling moved on but not out to the bins yet (many cans crushed but more to do). Good progress with my corner (the herbs responded to the tlc). Started a new book (more than one as I'd left the one I was reading upstairs so started on the small pile downstairs) and watched some of season 2 of Sister Boniface. Progress with my puzzles which were totally incomprehensible earlier.
Grateful for easy food, progress and rest.
Have just selected the 'least good' pair of leggings' (the ones with paint on are in the wash) and pulled out 2 past their best t-shirts, so I can hopefully get on with some outside work (currently can't get down the yard or shut the back door).

I just think you are all so amazing and inspirational. Practical advice, emotional support or just a hug. Over the years (and I didn't realise quite how many there have been) my Turtle friends have helped me through so many traumas with compassion and laughter. Take a bow one and all. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10

Here, here, @Toni'sfriend.
Struggling to control my inner wobbles today (and less said the better about outer wobbles of the physical and the emotional sort 🫣) we had a flurry of letters with urgent appointments for mum and dad's consultants arrive. Always worrying if you don't quite know why they want to see you in person or out of routine appts and a bit of a logistical nightmare as there are long distances in different directions involved...plus....I work. Everyone now very nervous and it presents in different ways that cause a lot of tension in the house. Am struggling to concentrate on work today, but had cleared my diary to chew some work frogs, so know I will feel better if I do just get on with it really. I don't want these frogs following me on a combined work and DD trip to London tomorrow. Going to make a cuppa and do just that.8 -
Oh Starlight, I really feel for you. I've had all sorts of letters over the last six months and every time one arrives your mind goes into overdrive. You're in my thoughts. And a huge hug from me to you and everyone else who is struggling in one way or another just now. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7

We were out for a walk at 7.20 this morning. Three miles. I know it's not all that much but it's all adding up. Although I have to say that browsing is food shops is not helping my NSDs. Still so long as we stay in budget.
Himself and I decided to make a monthly payment to a cancer charity (one each I mean). There are so many it's difficult to decide but eventually we settled on the local unit at which I am being treated. This is more about supporting people rather than research. I am very lucky that I have Himself (although he struggles a bit at times but perhaps that's the point), a small family group, a limited circle of good friends and ,of course, and possibly more important my Turtles. But some people don't even have that strong support so it's important to feel you're not alone.
Other than that I've done a bit of planting. My little "garden" is looking really good (even if I do say so myself).
Off to make dinner. Pork filet wrapped in Parma ham and potato croquettes.
Have a lovely evening, xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Hi had an easy day of cover, and now I'm shattered, need to go for a run, and haven't cooked dinner even though I said I would. Will report outcome back later, there must be a way!
EDIT: I woke up the boy who was also napping, and after moaning a bit he cooked a decent red Thai veggie curry, I ran off and am now watching James may cooking Japanese food. All is good.Isa help to buy: 400/3000 13%

HMRC tax payments: 0/388 due before Jan 31, which I think I can do.9 -

Monday Pep Talk
Make people feel good this week but don't forget you are someone too. Give yourself reasons to smile and FEEL GOOD. Give yourself kindness and understanding. You deserve it.
(couldn't go round telling people to go round being a shark, biting people and reminding everyone else that they're a shark, could I).
Affirmations for pushing through
(from LEMONADEBRAIN,com)
I love myself enough to push through
That finish line could be just around the next bend in the road
Keep going
Don't stop
I deserve the BEST life I can live
I deserve a healthy body
The best things in life come to me
I want to stand on the top of this mountain
The best view is atop the hardest climb
My mind will give up before my body ever will
I've got this
I can conquer any challenge
I am strong and fearless (I'm weak and wobbly but I'll just keep going and rest when I need to)
I have everything I need to succeed
I'm going to stop there. I'm not keen on affirmations. We had a friend who would stand in front of the mirror each day and tell herself she was 'getting better and better in every way@ but I just felt silly. Some of these are okay (they were getting wilder, I'm not planning on world domination) but I'd still whisper them quietly. My fall back when things are desperate is "I will not cry. I will not feel sorry for myself".
Monday Motivation
Look at you being kind of awake and stuff.
You are reading words and probably aren't even stabbing anyone, right now.
You deserve a coffee, you magnificent little sunbeam

An old favourite
Whatever you're doing today, do it with the confidence of a four year old in a Batman T-shirt
Also today I did an amazing job of being awake and not stabbing anyone, as did we all (presumably!), so cheers to that everyoneMake £2025 in 2025 #18 - £569.66/£2025
