Has anyone who has ported out had a refund for the unused part of their line rental?
Not a refund as such, but my last bill from Plusnet was pro-ratad so I only paid for the days I was with them during the last billing cycle.

My 'port out' happened yesterday and so far I've not heard from Plusnet at all.

The day after I logged in to my Plusnet account and the allowances had zero'd so I assume the account is closed. No other communication though.

I was billed fairly recently, so I'll probably wait until the next cycle (which should be a credit) before chasing up.

It rather depends on what you are billed for. Normally mobile contracts and bundles you pay upfront. and out of bundle charges are taken from a credit balance. But that may not be the case for older deals or contracts which have run over their minimum term.

Yes, same here. I would have expected some sort of fairly immediate 'goodbye' email on porting out though, with final bills and any refunds following some time later.

On 30 day rolling contracts and we have received nothing about them closing. I have known for a while due to
the threads on here and elsewhere. Just getting billed as normal, with the billing emails arriving with no issues
so not an email problem. Strange they have not sent emails to us?

    Had this today:

    "
We recently reminded you that your Plusnet Mobile plan price would increase from 31st March 2023.
Due to a technical issue, this price increase has not yet appeared on your bill. We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
Don’t worry, we’re not backdating any charges and the monthly increase in your price plan will only apply to your bills after 1st July 2023.
We are also making some changes to our mobile service. This doesn’t affect you today and we’ll get back in touch to let you know more.

Currently getting 12GB for £9.15. Reality is, after Covid left me almost entirely WFH I hardly use data these days, most of it was listening to music in the office. The £8 for 5GB feels like a worse deal, but in reality it would just be a cheaper bill and the lower cap is unlikely to affect me. Except... The one month I do hammer the data is August when we go on holiday, where I've no Wifi and the kids are tethering their devices to mine. I definitely want to keep my 12gb to then at least. Will have to see if the EE offer lasts that long.

Looking at the alternatives I'm not sure. I've been with GiffGaff in the past, having to repeatedly buy the 'goody bag' every month was a chore, and GG users were distant second class citizens on the O2 network, with very poor speeds, while O2 natives in the exact same place got much better.
Three were OK while I was with them, but I regularly visited a couple of locations that were dead spots on their network, and they didn't offer wifi calling on my handset.
I've actually been with EE between 3 and Plusnet, and the service was pretty good, but that was when I could justify paying for a huge data plan.

I might go back to EE if the £8/5gb is still on offer. I might have finally considered Sky mobile after all their attempts to entice me, but my sky TV package ends in a week, and unless their July retention deals are any better than June I'll probably be jumping ship there too - ironically probably to plusnet.

I was going to suggest that you could "boost" your data allowance just for the period you are on holiday but I was completely unable to find the details of periods/data/costs on the EE website. It may be that an account is required before the tariffs are visible but even so it's not great that this information isn't easy to find.

As I found recently the EE website is full of numerous broken links, forms that don't work etc. and could do with a tidy up.
