I'm on a legacy Plusnet deal which started off at £5, went down to £4 when they matched a new customer offer for me and has trickled up since with the price rises. Still no official notification, but have started the process of moving to Lebara as MSE have got a current deal of 49p for the first 6 months then £4.90 for 3GB/unlimited calls & texts.
Is 3gb enough data for you? If so (and you get good reception from vodafone [try ordering a free sim first to check signal if in doubt]) then it is a great deal for 6 months and a safe bet thereafter.

I've already ordered one on plan (Vodafone is fine here and Wifi calling as a backup), but might get a free one as a backup. I've done a few SIM swaps on giffgaff for people who lost their SIM with the spares/refer a friend spares they used to send through. Plusnet's only method to replace a lost SIM was through the post, so this is another bonus.

You could say "a real plus'!

Presumably BT are making the assumption that maybe half their Plusnet customers will move onto a more expensive EE tarrif, and the other half will move elsewhere. If they don't want your business, there are plenty who do.

    Well we know a number of things;

You can't buy a BTMobile contract
You can't buy a Plusnet mobile contract
BTMobile customers are now EE customers
Plusnet mobile customers haven't officially been told their service is stopping

Some plusnet customers have received an offer to move to EE

Some are being told by rumours to look elsewhere.

I wonder why the two divisions are being treated so differently, iirc there wasn't much difference in price between plusnet and btmobile.

Don't see why they can't just rebrand it EE and send you out an EE simcard, and honor their contract with you
Because they no longer want to sell at the current budget rates. You already have an EE SIM, that what PN runs on.
The cheapest 'special deal' to ex PN customers is £8 a month: that's a near 50% increase on the £6 I was paying until a month ago.
    How is a £2 increase 50%?

My wife is paying £6.87 a month for 1gb data and can get 5gb for £8 plus free Apple TV and Music for 6 months, I’d say that was worth the extra.
@Birdman How did your wife get that offer? Did she ring Plusnet? I’ve only seen EE offering Apple Music, not Apple TV as well, which would be nice!

She’s not made the move yet as she’s waiting for the official word from Plusnet. It seemed that both services were available for free when we looked.

I'm on a very low price monthly contract for many years with plusnet and it will be a loss in price but i've rarely had good mobile data speeds, my phone (a few years old branded 4G phone) is mostly on 'E' for data ('edge') which is very slow and was out before 3G or GPRS. Previous phones were the same so it's plusnet.

Last year they said "we're upgrading you to 5G for free and will send a new SIM". I didn't get it.

You’re right. Actually, they include Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Arcade. That makes the deal a lot nicer. Annoyingly, I already paid for a yearly Apple Arcade subscription in March.
