I do marmite pasties - I roll out pastry to a square or round and spread marmite on half (using back of a spoon is easiest way), then sprinkle grated cheese over. Fold in half and cook. It's very yummy. My OH loves it but doesn't even like marmite!

You could also freeze your pastry to use on another day, if not already defrosted.

I usually use ground cumin and ground coriander, sometimes turmeric - I like them quite spicy.

I have had a look on search but cant find a pastie recipe. Does anyone have one bearing in mind - I have no clue pastry. My son adores the cocktail pasties from Jenkins bakery but cost cutting means I cant afford them - so the next best thing is to make them. :D

Hiya, I've added your post onto the thread that PP linked to.

Really, once you've got your pastry you can put pretty much anything you like into a pastie - as long as you don't call it "Cornish" :)

ARGH!!!!! mince in a pasty!! sacrelidge!! LOL
Has to be beef steak chopped up sealed in a hot frying pan before putting into the pasty, along with potato, onion and turnip. Absolutely NO peas or carrots!! Lastly, crimped on the side Not the top!! My family have always drained some of the cooking juice from the beef into the steam hole of the pasty before putting it into the oven...................proper job me andsome!!
