Just use bisto gravy made up as you normally would. Don't add too much as it could make the pastry go soggy.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Agree with above - only use a little bit. You can always use the extra gravy on the side or on top of your cooked pasty!0

aghhhhhhhhhhh! you dont need to put gravy in a cornish pasty! if you coat the meat in seasoned flour it will make its own gravy! janeMember 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

ok........... i made these for tea tonight. and apart from the meat being a bit 'chunky' (i used stewing steak) they were rather nice!!! so a bit of fried stew steak, put on a rolled out bit of puffpastry a drizzle of thick bisto on the meat, folded into a kinda envelopey square jobby and put on a floured baking tray @ 180c for 25minsish (with a slight milk coating) turns out kinda nice!!! but it needs perfecting tho.does my bum look big in this sig?0

hi all
Ive got about 1.3rd of a poacket of shortcrust pastry left.
Ive just done 5 spinach feta, comte & gorgonzola ones - very nice indeed - ran out of spinach or I wouldve done more - cheese left is cheddar and a bit of gorgonzola)
As Ive only got a small amount of pastry left can anyone think of any good storecupoard fillings? I couold probably only make 3 small ones?
( ive done jam tarts & mincemeat lattices out of this packet as well- so nothing sweet!) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

How about cheese and potato? I make these all the time and they are yum! My kids love cheese, potato and baked beans in pasties as well, although I would say they are a bit of an acquired taste!Friday April 9th 2010 the day I become Mrs Jones!
