@[Deleted User], I can't switch because there is a debt on the account, due to EDF incompetence, but I still have to clear it.

So, still no info on kWh any used or any updates/clues on what caused the massive spikes in January or April? I can't help thinking that you really do need to listen to the people earlier in the thread and get to the bottom of this, otherwise you may find yourself coming up against these expensive issues again.
I don't understand why it's taken so long for you to question why the £64.50 direct debit was set up as a second collection from your account, why didn't you ask what it was for when it was set up last May when you noticed it on your spreadsheet?1 -

I can only assume this detail was all laid out in the bills, with when and where the kWh where used and why it was happening. And if not spotted there, it's easy to see everything changed in May 2022 from the spreadsheet that was being kept due to the complete change in payments - it wasn't a small rise - being made.
Customers really do need to learn to read each bill as it comes in, that is where the company will be communicating with you. If you read your bills, then you wil know about direct debit changes, how much energy you are using, etc. It's pretty simple really.0
