@Swipe, live and learn, but what use is this equipment if the information it displays isn't accurate ?

What is your current unit price and standing charge? You can work it out yourself against the amount of KWh used.

As others have said, please post information from your actual bills, showing billing dates, meter readings, estimated or actual. Without that vital data it's impossible to know why your DD has increased.

Your supplier is responsible for sending the correct tariff data to each of your meters. The IHD takes its tariff information from the meters.

yes it does and why many of us have binned thew IHD devices long ago. As I've mentioned above, the Bright app on your phone would be a bigger help than the IHD.

I came off my EDF fix on Sunday and my In Home Display had updated its tariff by the time I'd woken up the next day. get on to your supplier and see if they can update your smart meter with the current tariff details.

How often do EDF generate bills? I know BG it's every 6 months so it looks like a user has a bundle of credit accumulated. . .until the bill is finally generated at swallows most of it.

EDF operate a six month billing cycle, if they have not generated a bill recently it is not unusual to be in a large amount of credit.
When did you last get a bill from EDF and what was the balance at that point? What was the total of your payments since that last bill? What is your usage in kWh since that last bill?

@Swipe, @MuckChucker , I'm a professional software engineer so I have a good idea of what is possible and the IT of these companies is shockingly bad, our bills have been up and down all over the place and the information shown on the web-site is also bad, not helpful or informative. Is this intentional? I feel sorry for those less informed and willing to take everything at face value.
Earlier today our account was showing over £1000 in debit, now its showing over £3000 in credit.
