Incredible price hike, how can they do this ?

No arguments there, I'm only familiar with BG and the new system is not fit for purpose at present - bad enough to make me move to provider infact

@pochase , @MuckChucker , keep watching and refreshing the EDF web-site, can't believe what I've seeing now and no response officially received from EDF either.

@SPlatten gather all your historical data and just create a quick spreadsheet to work it all out for you, then you dont need to rely on anyone.

yes, I've put together a spreadsheet that contains everything and am keeping records and copies of statments, still struggling to take this in now…

Other than for pulling unit (kwh) readings forget the providers portal and stop looking at the monetary figure, it's not helping at this point. If we can't establish your actual energy useage, we can't really help. Put your monthly readings into a spreadsheet for as far back as you can and we can work from there

@MuckChucker , that will take some time, if things change again I will do just that.

Bear in mind that you do appear to be a fairly high user as well - I'm an almost entirely electric household - we use gas only for cooking - and at the moment I'm using roughly 7 - 8 kWh of electric daily. That includes water heating - no room heating as it's switched off now. If you are all electric then your use is probably reasonable but if you have gas for heating your water then that suggests high electricity use, to me.It appears from the earlier thread linked below - and at least one prior to that too - that the OP is all electric, and has an ASHP.
As others have said - if there is an option to change your IHD display to kWh alone then use it - and then calculate things out yourself from there. The Meters app for smartphones can be helpful as long as you set it up with the correct tariff info - I've used it for years now and it's great to have a picture to look back on although again I'd rather it was focused more on actual use rather than cost.

Would switching to Octopus and getting monthly bills help you stay more organised?
11 kwh a day now that winter is over would give a bill of around £120, The DD would want to be a little more to build some credit ready for next winter.0
