  • Happy Thursday! Hope you're all OK?

Today's another manic day for me, but I am hoping to get a few breaks to sort some laundry out get it on the line as it's going to rain from now on apparently.  Hopefully not for too long as it's supposed to be Summer now after all!

So, today's PAD was just £5 to the sabbatical.  I should have £30 cash left at the end of this week (no plans) to add to my holiday spends pot which is my primary focus now that I've got enough to pay the holiday balance at the end of the month.  Once I have my spending money saved I think I will try to set aside some airport spending money as we will be catching 4 flights so there will be a lot of time in airports.  I may take inspiration from Iris Budgets for that.

It's a NSD for me today, tomorrow should be too as I have no plans at all.  I have ordered a few books from the library so hopefully I will be able to go and collect those tomorrow but it's free to park on the high street so it should still be a NSD

That's all from me. Enjoy your days!

All seems to be going consistently well with your finances LMD, with savings habits very much embedded. It would have been easy to slip back into the old spendy habits but you’ve well and truly broken that cycle.
Enjoy your down time when you get some

  • Good morning and happy Friday everyone.

It's another NSD for me today, so that left over cash has been popped into the holiday spends fund which is growing nicely.  PAD also included the £5 to the sabbatical as usual.

There's nothing really happening today, aside from going to collect my library books I'm not going anywhere, we will be in watching the football tonight, so we will see how exciting that gets.

    Off to work I go...Hi-Hooooo

  • Hello, I am enjoying my time off already and my head feels a lot better from not bouncing from one meeting call to another.  That's why I'm late, my schedule is a bit messed up as I don't update on weekends anymore.

So, finances... Some of you may remember that at the start of the year I realised I needed to apply for a new passport to be able to go on holiday. Well if you do remember you're better than me as I completely forgot about it until Saturday when I hurriedly took a photo and applied online.  It's cheaper to do it online but it was £100 by the time I factored in the special delivery for sending my old passport...that's come out of the general saver.

So, spendy day on Saturday but it's been NSDs since then so I'm not doing bad really! And to be honest it's kind of an essential spend anyway :D

PAD today included £5 to the sabbatical and then £30 to the weekly envelope challenge which goes to the sealed pot.

Might have a snooze before I have to make dinner... you know, because I can! :)

good win on the broadband - I changed mine a while ago and until I was sat on holiday last week I had totally forgot I hadn't cancelled the previous one - luckily only a few months but now cancelled it! I really need to remember things better.

Enjoy your break, its certainly well earned.
  • At least it was only a few months @FootyFanDan, I must admit I'm good at checking direct debits and payments so I would've picked up on that. It's just the important passport I forgot!!

Hope everyone is well? The weather is bloody horrible, wet and windy. The long forecast looks like it'll be that way for the foreseeable too. I am starting to crave sunshine.

Today's PAD was just £5 to the sabbatical, no plans to spend so it's another NSD for me. Just some pottering and probably reading my book, walking the dog and cleaning up.

Sorry it's a short one today. Not much going on, which after the last few weeks is positively blissful :)

  • Hi all, I hope you're OK? Mid-week already and almost half way through June...where is this year disappearing to?

So, today will be another NSD for me, not going anywhere except walking the dog today and that doesn't involve any spending :)

TOday's PAD is my dice rolling, mostly low but the percentile dice did me in by landing on 80 so all together £114 has been sent to the sealed pot from my dice challenges and then the usual £5 to the sabbatical.  It's tough going on the bank now, but when we get to open the sealed pot in October I will reap the rewards!

That's about it from me, nothing else happening in the accounts. OH gets paid tomorrow so that will be a boost to the joint account at least.

    Have fun

  • Good morning!  For the moment, the sun has made an appearance here and I do feel much better for it!  It's still blummin' cold though and I will be going to put socks on after my update...

I've made my PAD today of £5 to the sabbatical. I have no plans at all for the forseeable, me and OH have discussed maybe going out on Saturday afternoon but it depends on the weather.  So, today will be another NSD for me. That makes 9 now and is half way to my target.

We received our £200 fairer share payment from Nationwide this morning, so that's being allocated to the grocery shopping for our week away in Wales next month.  A good use of it, as we will feel like we don't need to scrimp with our choices and it'll probably also stretch to a takeaway :)

That's it from me, I do hope you're all doing OK and I've not bored you all to tears with my very non-spendy week (so far!)

Good idea to put the NW money into your holiday groceries. I am saving my Nectar points for when we go to Yorkshire in a cottage for Christmas. Hoping we will be able to actually get a delivery as I hate going food shopping near Christmas and the local Mr S there is only a small one.
I allocated my NW £100 to paying towards the holiday accommodation.
