Glad you are feeling a bit better 😊
Question though …. How come you know about work emails coming in over the weekend ….? I turn all my work devices off over the weekend - my boss and my team can get me on my personal mobile if they really need to, but I really try to give myself a full break from thinking about work over my time off. If it is disturbing your down time (“can’t sleep when thinking about work”) maybe it would help to do the same? They don’t pay you for your thinking time outside of work ….

This job doesn't expect anything to be done out of hours so I should really try and break the habit. Especially as I have been awake since 4:30

I know @FootyFanDan, I completely agree, habits are just hard to break... Good news is that I slept soundly last night and feel super-refreshed this morning.
It turned into quite a day yesterday, I got a message that my new glasses were ready so I picked those up and it's a miracle that I can actually see both near and distance (and bloody intermediate!) without having to take my glasses off! I'm so chuffed and a little bit annoyed that I put it off for so long.
This morning has also been eventful, I rolled the percentile dice along with the others and ended up sending £87 to the sealed pot for those altogether, on top of £17.17 in change I've been carrying about... that roll has tipped the sealed pot over the £3k mark...therefore I have some colouring in to do this morning... some of my coins have reached the point where they can be bagged and banked so I may do that at the weekend.
It's a NSD for me today, last night wasn't too spendy with a grand total of £7.75 spent, not bad for a night out with the girls, it's because I was driving.
That's all from me this morning. Once I have coloured in I will pop back and update my signature as I've not done that for a while now.
Hope you're all doing OK?

Ooh, I forgot to mention... it looks like (hopefully, knock on wood) that I won't need to raid the savings as long as I have a fairly frugal month in terms of spending. So, we have 15 frugal days until pay day - wish me luck!
The important thing is that it's in the general saver pot if I need it, but I will be super-happy if I can cope without it!

We are all different when it comes to how we like to work. I was able to work well both on my own and with lots of activity around me. However, if the task was not one I favoured I would be more likely to complete it with others around me lol. For example, if I had a large pile of books to mark I would sit at a table in a fairly busy public area of the school and happily mark away. However, when marking tests or exams I tended to work in a quieter place.
I have always preferred going to work rather than working at home. ( Although spent thousands and thousands of hours working at home when teaching.)
Even at university, when I lived in college, I always went to work in a study area or the library. My room was equipped with a desk, but I liked to have a working day outside of it!One thing I am not clear about is the PAD approach that is often mentioned on here by yourself and in other threads. Where does the money come from that allows people to do this? Surely most people are paid weekly or monthly and monies allocated to various places on a regular basis. I prefer to send money to savings pots on a regular basis usually with standing orders set up.I suppose some money may come from surveys and ad hoc selling/ work. Just curious, that’s all.
Congratulations on your progress so far!2 -
Thanks @[Deleted User], I do get paid monthly.
My daily £5 is budgeted for as the moving to savings and posting keeps me motivated and that's why I choose to do that daily. The extra money for PADs comes from a variety of places, some are DD's (mortgage, utilities) I also PAD from survey pay outs.
I also run the weekly envelope savings challenge, so I pick a random envelope each week and stuff that. Plus I do some dice saving challenges at home on Wednesday mornings so they also get included. These are based on a dice roll and are therefore very random in amounts saved.
So, that's where mine comes from but everyone who contributes to the PAD thread is different, some post daily like me, others less often. It's not a rule that you have to pad each and every day.

Good morning MSE-ers, I do like these bright, sunshiney mornings
I've been listening to the birds whilst having a brew and it's so lovely. That's why I am late today...
It's not a NSD for me as I am out for dinner with friends tonight, I have received my cashback for my glasses though so that's a bonus.took longer to pay an onine claim than make the bloody things but that's insurance companies for you
PAD today includes £5 to the sabbatical, nothing much else to update on finance wise. Still counting down to pay day and in fairness I'm still enjoying the cash budgeting. It seems to be working for me anyway!
Have good days

Morning! It's a boring day for me today but it will be a NSD.
I've sent £5 to the sabbatical for my PAD this morning but nothing else to report. It's another really busy day for me today so I am looking forward to 4pm! Also will be watching the football playoffs tonight with a few beers
I hope everyone is doing OK? This week seems to have absolutely flown by.
