Happy Friday all, hope everyone is well? We have made it to the end of another week - woohooo!
I am doing a later shift today as I have late calls (boo for a Friday) so I slept in a little and I have been to the gym this morning. My PAD included £5 to the sabbatical and it's a NSD for me today. I did enjoy having my nails done yesterday and I am very pleased with how they look.
Yesterday I also switched down my sky mobile tariff, I never use the full data and my introductory offer had run out so I have moved it back down to the £8 a month option. I have plenty to use from rolling over if I need to so there's no danger of me running out of data. It only saves me £48 over the year but in my view a saving is a saving!
That's all from my updates today, I am hoping for a spend-free weekend as I will be decorating and sortiing stuff for switching rooms (actual switch planned for next weekend) and I have no social plans... which is good as I am still not drinking. Hubby failed on day 4 I think
Right-o, I am off to make coffee and get cracking with work - have a lovely weekend all!

I tried doing my own gel nails during lockdown, bought all the equipment. Not had much success but guess this is down to practice. Every so often I give my nails a rest and paint them with normal varnish which then chips after one day 😞 That’s when I go back to gel varnish done by the professionals.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

My DIL trained as a nail technician and she said it’s all about the prep. You can get stick on colour that you cure under the UV lamp, I do have a set to try so will let you know if successful. It’s about time they invented some decent nail varnish that lasts!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Just delurking to say gel polish tends to last longer when it has a touch of sparkle in it. I have been doing mine at home since 2019 and practice really does make a difference. As SA says prep is key as is capping your free edge and leaving enough space at the bed for you top coat to seal the colour. I get minimum 10 days and max 17 days out of a mani, neutral colours tend to wear better on me and the growth doesn’t look so bad. But like you once one starts to lift they all get picked off 🤣 I still do love a professional mani though as a treat and my recent Xmas one lasted 3 weeks 😀 x

It’s my one thing I’d refuse to give up tbh, love my nails looking good. I’ve a kit that I use if I horror of horrors chip one between appointments - I do my own toes with gel as they are much easier.Sealed pot challenge 822

The thing is, I can afford it now but still in the habit of not spending on things like that.Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25710 -
Good morning and happy Monday. It's been a great weekend as we had an unexpected but very welcome visitor on Friday afternoon and they're staying with us for the week. So, on Saturday we went out for food and drinks and I did have wine...so 1 resolution broken already. But, no more plans to go out drinking for the rest of the month.
In terms if NSD's I only spent on Saturday and not planning to spend today so that's not too bad, it could have been a lot worse. My PAD today included £5 to the sabbatical and I will be having a look at the envelope challenge later to see which ones I will be filling this week.
That's about it from me in terms of updates. Seems a little boring but that's real life isn't it?
Hope you all have a nice day

Filled 3 of the envelopes this week, 3, 4, and 27... so that's £34 to savings
