    Happy New Year!

I am planning to move the home office downstairs this year instead of a bedroom, better use of space I think. Hope you office move plans go well.

I am 2 flights of stairs from the kitchen and would love to be on the ground floor, but the garage conversion has no natural light so I'm moving to the smallest of the bedrooms. We still have the spare room and the conversion for people to stay over if needed. Our house is one with the lounge on the middle floor which did take some getting used to!

  • Hi all

Just a quick update as we head into the weekend, this was not a NSD for me as I paid for the hospital parking and treated my sister to lunch after her appointment. We have had a real giggle over the past day and time has flown!

I sent £5 to the sabbatical this morning, there are things happening at Casa Determined and our real life in general which may mean some unexpected costs. Additional travel and accommodation could be needed which may impact my NSD target but we will see how things pan out. A perfect example of life getting in the way I suppose.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend

In the South Wales valleys there are lots of three storey house, when we was looking to buy our first house we look at a few, the stairs was off putting due to the fact I was pregnant and couldn't imagine running up and down with a baby. Would happily live in one know.

  • Good morning and happy Monday. I hope everyone had a good weekend? I can't seem to get warm this morning so I may have to turn the heating up. I already have 3 layers on!

I had a couple of NSDs over the weekend but not today as I am planning on going out tonight.  Should be able to get a few more later in the week though.  Not much happening on Prolific lately so I will be keeping an eye on that throughout the day.

I made my usual £5 PAD to the sabbatical this morning which has just hit £350...can't grumble at that really.  Not much else happening finance wise... I set up a few dice challenges which I will be doing on Wednesdays into Monzo pots. The envelope challenge is a week old now and already we have seen some fantastic savings so I am very excited about that.

That's all from me. Have lovely days

  • Good morning and welcome to Tuesday... the weather is quite clear here this morning but it's bitterly cold. I will be layering up again today!

After my unexpected NSD yesterday, it's another one for me today. No plans for the rest of the week so we will see how many I can get... Today's PAD included £5 to the sabbatical and I will see what I am left with at the end of the month to add more in on an ad-hoc basis.

Everything for 'changing rooms' has now arrived with the exception of the blind as that is made to measure. So this weekend I am going to start stripping wall paper (a job I detest) and prepping for painting. I have already put up the curtain pole and curtains as the window wall isn't being changed. Just one feature wall.  I will be so pleased to get it finished and looking how I want it. The other thing I am considering is a lamp for the office. There have been some days where it hasn't really gotten light during the day lately and I think a lamp would give a bit of light without having to use the full on big light... might see what's on market place.

Nothing else much happening here, it's all a little boring.  19 days to pay day :D

Good morning, just a quick update from me today before I start work, I have calls from 8am on Wednesdays.  This week seems to be going really slowly for some reason... maybe because it's January.

Anyhoo...Today is a NSD for me, I'm not going out and I'm trying to save as much as I can in Jan as we have a week off in Feb and will be quite spendy then. We will be at home, but going out from here each day.

The next instalment for the holiday has come out so PAD included that and £5 to the sabbatical.  I have my weekly spending money as cash this month (I'm trialling it after watching hours of Ira on YouTube) and so far the reluctance to part with actual cash money is working well.  Will see what happens as it goes. I have retained electronic money in my Monzo as you can't use cash for everything.

That's about it from me, Prolific has gone quiet again...no need for middle aged home-workers for their studies :D

  • Good morning, I hope everyone is safe and well and keeping warm as best they can.

Not much happening in the house of determined lately, it's been busy with work and then general chores and TV catch up on an evening. Today will not be a NSD for me, I have given in and made a nail appointment. I can't seem to do it myself in a way that lasts and don't even get me started on even length from filing... so £20 of this weeks spending money will be used on my nails. But that's all I will have spent this week so that's good.

Today's PAD was just £5 to the Sabbatical, nothing else happening with the accounts at the moment although a few DD's are due tomorrow I think.

Off to make another coffee and maybe sneak a biscuit!
