LittleMissDetermined said:Hi all, and thank you so much for your kind words. I was awake at 4am worrying and to be honest I walked out of the hospital wondering what all the fuss is about. It's the same every time but I just can't stop myself from getting in a tizz about it. I guess that's what phobias are about (insert shruggy emoji here!)
So, tomorrow is pay day. I've cashed out £10.32 from Prolific this morning, sending £5 to the Sabbatical and then £14.41 to the 24-sealed pot account that I set up last night. It's not an instant access but pays 4.53% interest so that will do for me.
Not an NSD obviously due to hospital car park, and I also had a coffee as I arrived early. Now that I work from home I hardly have a coffee out so that was like a little treat.
Not much else happening. Tomorrow will be a different matter with it being pay day.

Morning everyone and happy Friday. As usual I am up early as it's pay day so I have moved money around and updated the budget for the next financial month. Even though it's pay day it will be a NSD for me as I am out shopping this weekend with my sister and will hopefully get the bulk of the Christmas presents out of the way then.
I've sent £95.85 to the 1p challenge this morning (part of my sealed pot) and £5 to the Sabbatical fund. £400 has gone to my savings pot too. I will try and remember to update my signature later. Off to the gym later too, not been for a while so I have some catching up to do.
We have 2 weeks before we go on holiday so this weekend I will order our currency. I will also need to work out a realistic target for NSD's in November with being away twice, it doesn't look to be a high number! We will see what I can manage...
Hope you all have a lovely day (and weekend) ahead

The weekend passed in the blink of an eye and we are back to the grindstone today. Body clock is all out of sorts and I’ve been awake since 5am. I’m sure it will soon settle.
Yesterday was fairly spendy but on the up side I have well over half of my Christmas shopping done. The rest I can probably pick up on my Black Friday shopping trip so I’m not panicking.
Today will be a NSD, I am busy with work meetings and then we have no plans this evening so will probably just catch up on some TV or maybe watch a film or the football. I’m not a fan of dark evenings, it makes me just want to go to sleep.
My PAD today included £5 to the sabbatical fund. I had originally planned to reduce this back to £3 a day once the EF was completed but it has been manageable so I will leave it as it is for now, I can always reduce it later.
I also used some of my sealed pot money this weekend to have my car valeted whilst we were shopping. I must say they did a cracking job! I think because I hardly use my car I don’t tend to think it needs cleaning. (But obviously it did!)
Anyhoo, that’s my update today, I hope you’re all doing well and had a lovely weekend

Hey @LittleMissDetermined, I've been a bit AWOL on the forum so had over 70 posts to catch up on your diary 😳! Glad that your hospital visit went well and your dog is feeling better. I can't believe you're doing so well with 2024's sealed pot already, that's very inspiring. I need to get back onto a sealed pot as I was enjoying the challenge.
Good to see your emergency fund all completed and that you're onto the sabbatical fund. Keep PADding, it makes all the difference doesn't it? x

I’ll definitely keep PADding as it’s totally addictive and there’s always one pot or another that needs money adding…Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25711 -
I'm slowly getting there thanks, and no you've not been waffling on, as reading your diary is like sitting with a mug of tea and having a good catch up, it's really comforting and inspiring.
You've also motivated me to rejoin the sealed pot challenge. I'll be doing mine virtually and banking the coins as I go along. I'll declare early at the end of September as the money is for my son's 18th birthday in early October 2024. I'm going to use my round-ups and cashback to boost it as well. I think I'll be psychologically more motivated if I can see it climbing. And I've made a smaller penny challenge tracker that adds up to £30 for all change under 50p, so hopefully I can complete that a few times before September 2024.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

How lovely of you to say @Keedie that’s very kind. I’m a bit of an open book to be honest so I’ll chatter on to anyone who will listen 😂
It’s probably for the best that I work from home these days.
I find the sealed pot challenge to be motivating and I hope you do too, it will be good to use it as a way of saving for your son’s birthday, good thinking!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25711 -
Morning MSE-ers and welcome to Tuesday... It's miserable weather here today and if it doesn't brighten I doubt we will have many trick or treaters this evening. Any that do come will probably be soggy!
Not much happening in Casa Determined today, meals are from the freezer as we are not doing any shopping until tomorrow. Today will be a NSD, I have no desire to venture out in this downpour and it's taken a cold turn these past few days in my opinion. My PAD today is just £5 to the Sabbatical, tomorrow is bills day so that will be a different matter.
I've done a couple of surveys on Prolific already this morning and have £15+ pending but nothing is available just yet so I will check throughout the day.
That's all from me in terms of updates, I will be spending lunchtime making a packing list for holiday as I don't know what needs a freshen-up wash or what needs ironing... I'll be much happier once I am packed and ready.
Catch you all later

Morning all and happy 'hump' day, this week is passing quickly and I've already been busy as I was up early again. I had an opticians appointment this morning and have parted with a fair old sum this morning for new glasses. Therefore it's not a NSD, not an ideal start to November.
Accounts have been depleted in general today as it's bills day (most of them, and the mortgage) but hubby gets paid tomorrow so at least the joint account will have a boost in the morning. My PAD included these along with £20+ interest send to sealed pot, and £5 to the sabbatical fund.
Now I am back at my computer though I've been able to cash £6.87 from Prolific and I've sent that to the sealed pot too. There's still about £7 in there awaiting approval and I will hopefully be able to do some more surveys today.
Not much else to report really, work is busy and I have late calls today which is quite annoying as I like to finish on time but it's the run up to holiday so it's getting really busy. Not much I can do about that. The one saving grace is that the rain has at last stopped around here, there are some small patches of blue in the sky tooit's windy though, but I can deal with that!
Nothing else to add, I hope you're all OK and having a good week.
LMD x
PS, no news on hospital results yet - no news is good news?Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25712 -
Hi all, it's raining cats and dogs here today, I feel sorry for the bin men... True to form, the dog has taken to his bed and isn't even bothering to look up when I leave the room. He's such a sunshine worshipper and despises the rain
Today is a NSD for me, yesterday was spendy enough and I'm conscious that this time next week we will be off to the airport. This morning I cashed £11 from Zipzero and sent that to the sealed pot, I also sent £5 to the Sabbatical fund.
Short and sweet this morning!
