Good morning and happy Wednesday! I had a very late night last night and was still awake past 2am, but had to get up at 6 regardless. I wish today was my day off so I could get some napping done but unfortunately I have to wait until Friday. I may need some match sticks for my eyes by this afternoon!

Armed with some strong black coffee I did my dice rolls this morning. They were better than they have been lately and I have added £59 to the sealed pot from those, plus some change to the physical tin from last night. £5 was sent to the sabbatical as usual.

It's definitely a no spend day today, I spent too much yesterday and I certainly don't have the energy to go anywhere today. At least I don't have many meetings today so I can get on with some project work.

That's all from me. I hope everyone is keeping well!

Well, I managed to sleep better last night but I feel like I still haven't caught up really. I feel a bit groggy this morning!

Just a quick one from me, as I have another busy day ahead... although I need to get through some laundry this morning too! (the benefit of working from home)

PAD was £700+ as it included a holiday payment but £5 as usual has been sent to the sabbatical. My new tracker has been printed and I have laminated it so I can clean it off and re-use it for the other 5 £1k's to reach my target.

It's another no spend day for me today, no plans except work, we have plenty of food in the house and tonight will either be board games or a movie for us.

I am almost at the end of book 26 for my challenge, so book 27 is already on standby (plus a few more!) and then I will reserve some more from the library. Not many charity shops are taking books at the moment, I suppose lots of people have gone digital and they struggle to sell them on.

Anyway, that's me for the day :)

It's my day off today, but popping in to say I had £40 left over from the budget which I've added to the EF. I'll be posting my end of month totals at some point tomorrow.

    Happy Friday!

Hi all, here's the current position...

    End of month update:

    Sealed pot           £4931.04
    Emergency          £669.99
    Sabbatical           £3026.49
    Travel funds         £1791.31
    Sinking pots        £1961.20
    Total                    £12380.03

Not bad really considering the amounts paid this month for holidays and the car insurance. I will update the signature to reflect the new totals and I'll be back on Monday when another envelope will be stuffed! :)

Thanks! I'm really pleased with the amount I've been able to add back into the EF, and it means I have the confidence for if I need to use it, I can replace it :)

A late update from me as I was travelling back from staying with family over the weekend. it's a NSD for me today though so that's a good thing :)

Today was mortgage day and all the other stuff so it was a big PAD, but that included £41 to the sealed pot and £5 to the sabbatical as usual.

We have had confirmation from Nationwide that we are both getting the fairer share payment. In the past we have used this for whatever we wanted (I saved and hubby spent) but I suggested that when it lands we pay it as an extra payment off the mortgage, and he instantly agreed. It makes sense, it's money we didn't know we were going to get and therefore we won't miss it.

Anyway, I'm taking this as a definite win that I'm influencing some of his financial mindset and I hope this can continue :)

That's it from me today, take care

Love the mortgage overpayment idea LMD. It was something I got over obsessed with though as I cleared the mortgage, but had a load of balance/money transfers instead  :) Overpayments as and when is definitely a great idea though and will make your home your own that bit sooner

Thanks @AntoMac, I am really pleased he's started coming round to my way of thinking... better late than never!

Not much going on for finances today, just the usual £5 to the sabbatical, and it's not a NSD as I'm out tonight... No plans after today though until Sunday so there should be a bit left for the EF on Friday. It was a spendy Sunday at the weekend though for a family member's birthday.

Tomorrow will see the dice rolls boost the Sealed pot, and unless I roll a 1 for all of them and a 0 for the percentile (highly unlikely!) the sealed pot will pass the £5k mark. Impressive really considering it doesn't seem long since we hit £4k does it?

Anyway. that's me, hope everyone has a good day!

  • You have achieved so much in terms of savings. Well done! I would be tempted to move £331 from other pots to the emergency fund to make it £1000. But that’s me, and my need for rounded up figures lol!
