Courier watch is finally over. I was up at stuoid o clock this morning on a very wet and cold day. There were 3 items still to be delivered. Eyebrow Tweeers , Tweezerman Nail Clippers and a pack of bank card size magnifiers. All things I've found useful over the years. I don't have thci eyebrows but like to keep neat. Used to buy the tweezer man nail clippers in our Boots in town but haven't been to town for 2 years. The pharmacy put youngest on the care home protacol a few years ago when there were shortages of meds and now have been delivering a months worth to her free of charge. There is a care home next door they deliver to a nunber of times daily The pharmacistsid it made sense as they were always delivering there.Todays deliveries were due by 4,50 but a while ago I noticed a whilte van over the road at a neighbours house their car wasn;t on the drive so they must have gone out he knocked next door and they took it in,I heard a sound in the hall and found 3 small cardboard packets on the door mat. He must have walked across the road to push them thrrough the letterbox. My vigils are over. Each of those items had disappeared in to the ether over the past years or so., I had origially bought the card size magnifiers when I'd left my reading glasses on the shelf in a shop having put them on to resd small printI have really missed having then in the card section of my purse so am glad of a pack of three. Finally found out what was in the taken to a post office package. With a message in my emails today from Openreach reminding me to collect.Pack of 4 jars of Galaxy Hot Chocokate.they were a very cheap offer. Hot chocolate and Cappuccino were often out of stock in the Coop and I was growing tired of only having tea to drink. I had already been ordering both over the last few months to build up a good stock.I had a think after reading that. Weather has been foul. As it's a bank holiday taxies with be very busy and could involve a very long wait in both directions. They will be very expensive as it's a long journey both ways. Not sure the post office will open on a bank holiday and the low cost of the item doesn't justify the cost and hassle involvedI'm going to eat something then catch up on posts.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Pollyanna - We used to have problems with deliveries. Not Royal Mail or Parcelforce but just about everybody else. In our case it's because of the crazy council numbering. Amazon man asked me to put very specific directions to our house on our account and we haven't had a problem since. However, we seem to be regularly directing couriers, takeaway drivers, etc to other people's houses. As far as Parcelforce is concerned can the Delivery Office not arrange to redeliver it to you. If this is an ongoing problem it might be worth speaking to the Delivery Office manager. Himself and I both worked for Royal Mail for years. They really should be able to sort this out for you. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7

I was so busy at work today I didn’t have time to think about anything else or think about spending. NSD 4.Me and some colleagues worked today but we have banked the holiday to use at another time which is quite good. I’ll use it when I need it.Grateful for getting lots done at work, a colleague’s compliments about the work I’d produced, and for some magic energy driving me through the day… more of that magic please!NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6

The houses here are easy to find all numbers as normal. Everyone here has avoided Parcelforce for years as they were so bad. When the first card was in the hall I couldn't understand why he couldn't deliver when I'd been downstairs for hours and hadn't had a courier at the doorI'd gone outside and found a very heavy box behind a bin. 100 sachets of Galaxy Hot Chocolate- perhaps he's anti chocolate. His feedback then was could not deliver. I checked a few days later and the feedack had been changed to delivered to Concierge, Janitor, Secretary all sorts of people . He'd altered his feedback there was one little word Bin at the at the end of a long list and having found the heavy box myself all he'd said that day was could not deliver. It was the following day he put the could not deliver taken to Post Office card through the door. I looked at the location of the post office and thought so there's an Amazon counter in the Post office at the top of this road. One n the Coop round the corner and a lot of Post Offices before the very far away one you chose. The Amazon couriers have been really good sometimes later than expected but with the volume of orders being handled were often waiting for hours to get to the end of the queue and out on the road. The two who were late here explained the back log and apologised for something that wasn't their fault.pollyx

Evening turtles
Had an accidentally early night last night as I fell asleep on the sofa! Slept quite well but had to get up early as I was on call. Luckily I didn't have to do anything so took the opportunity to do some dusting and mopped the floors.
Once I'd finished work I walked to the gym, had a bit of a headache so didn't go too crazy.
Made a nice slow cooker mac and cheese, nice and simple. Nothing particularly MSE achieved. Still got the headache unfortunately so another early night on the cards.8 -

DS3's GF was coming over for the day, so I went to fetch her after breakfast. Went for a walk with DH, then got out my sewing machine. Spent 5.25 hours making a skirt for a customer. It was in a lovely African print, black & orange on a teal background. I've had it a few weeks, so thought I'd need to get it done! Took GF home again.
Haven't done much for myself today, though have read a few chapters of my book. Booked a table at a restaurant next month got our silver anniversary. It's at the same hotel we spent our wedding night. We never go out for a meal, so thought we'd make the effort!
Grateful for chatting with a lady from the village on our walk, pretty fabric, getting a sewing job doneUse it up, wear it out

Whoops, I missed 30 posts over the weekend. Had a busy weekend and a productive one. Got so much more decluttering done, talked to husband about the room reassignment plan etc. The builder neighbour advised to do a full double height extension to extend the shape of the house rather than replace the conservatory or get a office pod. So while we're getting that planned the main focus is now to get the conservatory habitable and move DH office in there so the kids can get their own bedrooms this summer. I will paint some windows with reflective paint, insulate the roof a bit from the inside and paint the wood. Got a lot tidied or removed already. Next I need to tackle the shed to move the bikes into there and remove the mouldy blinds in the conservatory and disinfect the place.
Couldn't get any gardening done as it was just too wetDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/257 -
Hi turtles,
Glad your deliveries came @pollyanna_26
that skirt sounds lovely @Thrifty_Taylor
no nsd again yesterday as I paid €3 to free practice aerial hoop after work - today won’t be either as I need to go to the post office to collect something sent from uk and will have to pay customs fee (cheers brexit)
on the plus side I managed to eat a frog yesterday and have already eaten today’s! I’m working from home today and it’s already so much more productive than being in the office yesterday.
Grateful for seeing some fighter jets flying over, for looking forward to my friend visiting on Thurs, for a 3 day week!!Student loan £5655

We have made it onto the train Eurovision-bound! A very hectic dash around today saw me nearly complete the list of that-which-must-be-achieved-prior-to-departure. Made a heroic attempt anyway.
Best of news and most fun (if tiring) task is that DD has arrived home from over the ocean. I picked her up from our regional airport rather than London today, it was fog-bound and her flight was held overhead for about 90 minutes, so I was relieved they did land there in the end, and not get diverted as next nearest is about 2 more hours drive away.
Somewhat fortuitously I was running fairly late anyway, then stopped at a farm shop for fruit for a post-flight picnic breakfast. Despite being only 5 min drive from the airport there were no parking restrictions, so I hung out in their car park for a while (it was before 8am) then moved up to a formal waiting area just outside the airport where you can stay for 60 min free, then when DD had cleared arrivals went into the short stay car park, which cost me £1.25 / min as I swooped her up in a total of 4 min, but there was a minimum charge of £5! Worth it to have her home though!
Second adventure of the day has begun, 🇺🇦D, her 🇺🇦 friend, and I are off to Eurovision, via a night in Brum. Weather is conspiring to complicate our plans but assisting in our MSE plans as the train is running late, delay repay is on the cards!
