lcc86 said:Didn't post yesterday as OH and I went to a spa day (early birthday gift from him to me). Was going to walk but was hammering it down all day so got a cab there and back, split the cost. It was local so less than £10 each. I also spent on a couple of additional drinks for us both. All in all a lovely day, made good use of the gym and pool before afternoon tea and a massage, absolute bliss! OH wanted takeaway but he paid so I caved
Today I woke at 6, quite sore from my massage, couldn't sleep so I got up. Annoying as it was the only day this weekend that I don't need to set an alarm and I woke up at that hour! Went riding on my share horse, just a gentle plod today on a newish route which I enjoyed.
Have done a quick shop for a few fresh bits and did some batch cooking so we both have lunches for the week. Have hoovered, cleaned kitchen and bathroom. Went to dye my hair but realised I didn't have a box in store so added some to the shopping delivery.
OH has gone to a friend's today so I'm going to watch some coronation highlights (not a massive fan but would like to see the event as I'm interested in history more widely!) And then watch some F1. Am on call tomorrow so will need to get some clothes ready just in case. Am hoping for a quiet day as I want to get to the gym.
@grandmanerd if you can't find bamboo toothbrushes at Wilko they def sell them on ebay, I get them there all the time.Do you find when you get out aand do something life feels much better? I've been going stir crazy for months.I knew just walking to the Coop would lift my mood, I hadn't been there since last September and it was lovely to see all the staff I got to knowyears ago when youngest dd and I would shop there after her 2 weekly appts with our GP over the years; His practice is on the same site.Making a big river order was alien to me but I thought I have to do something or I'll hit the floor. I was in bed in pain and sleepless so I got out a lined A4 pad and began writiing orders, That single page morphed in to 4 pages in a coup;e of weeks. I was forever tracking those orders some were delivered when promised others were all over the place. Ome parcel force driver was a liar. I was up at the crack of dawn each day curtains open with a good view of the road outside. No knocks on the door but when I went in to there was couln;t deliver card on the floor.I did eventually locate the big heavy package behind my dustbin. A few days later another card Taken to Post Office.Istill have no idea what was in that package. Amazon hadn't named or pistured it in out for delivery email. To sort the problem I ried going on the Amazon help link. Only problem is you have to click on the picture of the item you are contacting them about and i had no idea what he'd taken to posr office miles away from here. There is one with an Amazon counter at the top of the road so I can't understand why he didn'ttake it there.II've trawled through all my orders but nothing seems to be misssing and I'm not well enough to travel that far to the post office a long way away.. Delivery firms stopped using Parcelforce here years ago becuse of them delivering to the wrong addresses and claiming they'd delivered but hadn't so I wasn't impressed with the firm. I have decided to be like Elsa and Let it go and wont bother about it againNo doubt I'll regret mentioning Let it Go. It took me years to get over the two younger dds pllayng and singing that songEven worse was youngest with MMMBob by Hanson on repeat.pollyx

NSD#5/6, will have to double check!
Went for a 5 mile walk with DH this morning. Finished a book whilst eating my dinner, then went out & did some gardening for 3.5 hours. My feet were freezing when I came in, so I made a hot chocolate & filled a hot water bottle to out under my feet. I soon warmed up 😊 DS3 was looking for a dvd, so I helped & discovered we had some duplicates. Will see which are in the best condition & add them to the big CS pile. My friend is helping fundraise in one of local CS's the week after next, so I'll drop it at hers at some point.
After tea I started watching a series on dvd that I'd got ages ago from a CS, & did more of my rug. Went for a soak in thr bath with some Epsom salts & started another book.
Grateful for time spent gardening, chat with next door neighbour over the wall, a nice walk with DHUse it up, wear it out

Good morning turtles
I overspent at the weekend but not by too much - I am trying to buy less often and better quality clothes, have a list of things I need and I’m trying to save up for one item at a time. One of the cheaper thingson the list is a baseball cap - saw one that I liked for €20 but didn’t like the colour so the girl in the store ordered me the colour I wanted.
On the plus side managed to avoid buying a new duvet cover as managed to locate one that had gone missing.
Also had a few meals out and drinks which in total came to about €50 so pretty cheap and had a good time so won’t begrudge it.
Watched king Richard film last night, really enjoyed it.Still no NSDs!Student loan £5655

Morning Turtles
Well, I was warned that there would be side effects with the new tablet and there are. Not too bad, though, I'm sure I can cope with it. Another lazy day but things that made it better:- Email from my brother in Canada
- Email from my cousin in Canada. I don't hear from her very often
- Lots of photographs of the coronation lunch the lovely cousin organised for her church
- A long chat on the phone with the Boy
- The two vases of lilies Himself bought my last week being in full bloom. One a lovely yellow and one the purest white.
- Little "garden" also blooming and looking very cheery.
- The second book proving to be even better than the first

Morning turtles!
I hope all who are not feeling great recover soon. I've had a couple of days being wiped out by fatigue/hayfever and stress, so the list of stuff that needs to happen before our short holiday (leave house at 6am tomorrow) has all ended up needing to be done today. I have at least woken feeling less unwell today!
I worked at the election on Thursday as a polling clerk. It was a long day (615 until about 2230) but I really enjoyed it. The other poll clerks were good company and I had underestimated how much of a community feel there would be. Lots of local people interested to see inside the building (it was a college site that was redeveloped about 9 years ago) and many keen to chat. Made several cups of tea for those who needed a short sit down, held a few babies and dogs to enable their voter to vote. Looking at the electoral register it was striking there are many homes with just one adult in them, and also with multiple adults of voting age with same name - kids who haven't moved out yet perhaps. Overall, would do it again, more for the experience than as a good source of income though -£250 for half a day's training and that very long day. All helps though. Hopefully this income will come in before the flat purchase goes through.
I did accompany my folk to a coronation afternoon tea on Saturday - and inadvertently drank a bit too much prosecco as everyone around me didn't actually want to drink theirs, just toast with it. Was then asleep by 6pm right through to next day, bar getting up for caring tasks.
Watched a whole series of Malpractice on ITVX this weekend - thanks to whomever suggested it! Was a good distraction from feeling rough.
NSDs so far - somewhat aided by fatigue - 6. Happy with that. Will be far spendier over next few days as we head to Liverpool...

Just lost a post so in brief, I've had a successful first trek of the day downstairs. Moved laundry on, went to the bins 3 times, rearranged my tall bookshelves, ate breakfast and brought many veg and a small knife back with me to chop for eating raw/ in salads and to throw in curries and pasta bakes.
Rested when I got back upstairs and have since had a shower, given my mask and hose a thorough clean and had lunch. Relaxing now and will restart when I feel ready. Getting up and down the stairs is so arduous that I need to plan properly to get as much done with as little stress (physical and mental) as possible. Big tick for today (I don't have any gold stars).
Grateful for being efficient, using my limited resources to the full, lots of ways to relax (plus foot wiggling and stretching).4 -
grandmanerd, I think I bought some bamboo toothbrushes from etsy - they were only £1 each! They each have different coloured bristles so we don't muddle them up.

Did a £40 shop this morning before 10am. Bank Holiday Madness! Have cleaned things, fed random wandering things, read a bit of a thing, and am baking flapjacks and a sponge full of odds and ends of packets of things ( goji berries are coming to an end). Still have to hoover and mop on the ground floor, but things are looking tidier.

Absolutely bucketed down today so been a day indoors. Still I had a sudden and unexpected flurry of activity:
- Changed the bedding
- Did all the washing. Drying upstairs as we speak.
- Cleaned, tidied and organised my bedside cabinet.
- Cleaned and tidied the bedroom. Well, after a fashion. Haven't touched Himself's things. His idea of tidy and mine are two different things. I like everything in drawers and cupboards. He stuffs everything in willy nilly until he can't get any more in and then piles it precariously on any surface he can find.
- Thoroughly cleaned the bathroom and tidied all the drawers and cupboards
- NSD No 5
- Decluttered some flavoured flatbread from the freezer for lunch. Jazzed it up a bit with peppers and sundried tomatoes
- Having omelettes for dinner. Will probably be more like a frittata by the time I added things
- Book coming along. I might finish it tonight
- Watching to Tudors from Series 3 onwards.
I've started watching some of the TV series that we've missed. I don't like having to wait for the next episode. I would rather "binge" on them. I like spy stories, political "conspiracies" and good detective series (preferably British and not American). Any recommendations?
Just had another message from my Canadian cousin. Must go and read it. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6
