Spend day! First spend day of May! Whoo hoo! Now we have bread and slices and people can feed themselves.Went to the Drs, was in and out in 10 minutes - they found nothing wrong with my blood (not sure why they thought they would) did more tests, and so have been referred elsewhere. Still none the wiser, and no further on.Soaked some sultanas and goji berries in rum yesterday, so bought some vanilla icecream DIY pudding.NSD 34/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD 3
Grateful for more of mother-outlaw’s rhubarb crumble at lunchtime, for getting work and house tasks done, for good songs on the radio and the sun shining.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸7 -
So many of you are getting so much done! I've not been online much to check in as all the spare waking moments are currently puppy focused! She is very cute and has settled in pretty well.
I'm on 2 NSDs, and the day to day house work is up to date. There was a mad tidy up of DDs stuff before pup arrived so we do have a "disaster" room where lots of stuff got put and the door is shut so pup can't chew anything in there. Will try and get it sorted this month.
I have garden plans for the month- get the pots sorted out and veg seeds planted, dig out the grass around the fruit cages and get gravel down with weed membrane under it and get the last of the hedge down. We can't go far until pups vaccine course is finished so we "should" have plenty of time to get everything done.
I am definitely aiming for 15 NSDs and I have a HUGE work elephant (which would have been a frog if I hadn't put it off for so long) and I WILL get it eaten this month!7 -
beanielou said:Hope all your deliveries arrive pollyBelieve it or not Beanie I finally sank in tomy armchairabout half an hour ago . I'd been opening big boxes smaller ones and packets all day - someone needs to invent a gadget for them as many had lots of vwery wide sticky tape round them really hard to remove.I looked again at what Amazon was saying re the contents and many were missing including the painkillers and antihistamines I was desperate for. i was looking forward to a proper sleep tonight. I was desperatef or a night I wasn't lying awake in pain again. I started enptying and checking again wondering if the missing items would arrive with another courier but no couriers since the good one who'd delivered earlier.I took everything outand after a couple of hours found the rest of the order in different boxes and packages I'd checked earlier tucked away sometimes wrapped up the painkillers and antihistamines were with some socks I'd ordered and the cough mixture with something else .I had tried contacting Amazon to find out what was in the package Parcelforce had taken to the faraway post office but couldn't get a reply a while ago when I'd accidently ordered the wrong item . Then they had a page Ifound with images of all my recent orders and I had to click on the one I needed to identify the item I was talking about that was easy one click and they cancelled the order. There isn't an option for the takento a post office problem because I have no idea what was in that package.I hope you surviived the blind cleaning without problems. Are they roller blinds or venetian? Years ago I had venetians on the bathroom and kitchen a windows and they were a pain to clean I swapped them for roller blinds much easier.I've just realised this is the first time Ihaven;t voted since I was old enough to vote.My postal vote is still on my desk but we have a hung council stretching all the way to Liverpool which has found itself in trouble many times with one mayor arrested for financial fraud.Iwas trying to remember how we eventually found that Glasgow Rose image. I;d said I'd like a Glasgow Rose so youngest searched everything Charles Rennie Mackintosh which was many things. Suddenly I saw a greetings card with that image and said that's the one. She transfeered that image and years later I ordered some of those cards to send to a friend in Scotland another fan.We both grew Mackintosh Roses.pollyx

Morning turtles
Still on 0 NSDs, my sis is in Madrid so I went and had dinner with her last night - tacos and a cocktail (€11) today won’t be one either as I may go and meet her for a drink. No frogs eaten yesterday. Did manage to get outside for a mid-morning break and do my exercise class. Will try to do better on the frogs today.
grateful for seeing my sister, for cheap food, for it being Friday.Student loan £5655

Morning all, yesterday was NSD#3. Did yoga before breakfast, quickly stir fried some veg for dinner. Had a good day at work, in the afternoon the group I was with visited the old folks home to play board games, which was nice.
Phoned my new bank, as I'd entered the last digit wrong when setting up my online banking, so couldn't activate my account. All sorted now 😃 Wednesday I phoned the payroll dept & discovered I'm not getting the additional pay for being a first aider. The head teacher is now chasing that up. Pleased I can get it back dated to last June 😃 also had an email to say I'd won £20 on a receipt app I use. Woohoo! Got round to sorting sinking funds for this month.
Got some sewing jobs done after tea, then had a soak in the bath with my book. Painted my nails ready for the coronation celebrations at school today.
Grateful for getting frogs sorted, the sewing pile going down, a nice dayUse it up, wear it out

polly, try using a house key to cut through parcel tape, I usually have an old kitchen knife or two which I save for jobs like that. If a parcel is too heavy to move, put a chair next to it and do it in situ. I forgot to vote and also May the Fourth. The voting cards came a while ago and I did wonder if it was time to get a postal vote.
I did go to the library yesterday and have lots of large print books to read late on, but I couldn't have gone any further (not even upstairs to see the new exhibition). I spent most of the day downstairs, DS3 went to bed around 9 am and didn't come back down until after 7 pm - he remembered to refill the empty water bottles I'd left in the bathroom.
I spent quite a bit of time in the garden, mainly because every time I ventured out I needed to sit down. I swept another layer of dust/ soil/ stones/ rubbish from about half the patio and the cobbles I'd cleared of weeds, all done sitting in a chair. I was very glad about that as it rained late on after being lovely all day and the dried out dust+ layer would have stuck again.
One major but unexpected achievement - I moved the water butt. It's developed a leak so I've tried to keep a bucket under it at all times but recently the amount of collected stuff has made it difficult to get to. Things I've moved/ used over the past week meant I could get close. I knew it wasn't empty but the tap only gave a trickle and then stopped. The lid was buckling so I moved it and the drainpipe dislodged. There was a 3- 4 inch of rich black sludge in the bottom. The butt tilted easily so I rolled and tumbled it into the area I'd cleared. Sat for a while then upended it and let the sludge slide out slowly.
I bought it and had it delivered with the kitchen worktops and other bits I had to order when I last did the kitchen which means it's nearly 19 years old. If I can't fix it, I plan to saw it in half to make two large tubs. I have two smaller butts that were ordered for mum's (2 x 50 l rather than 1 x 100 l). But I can tackle the fern that grew behind it - I've only been able to chop at the leaves for many years.
Spent lots of time resting. I felt vaguely unwell so my second meal of the day was plain cauli and broccoli rather than my planned meal. Beloved has made chilli in their slow cooker and I was told to help myself so that and the leftover veg plus a portion of curry sauce means today is sorted. I'll be embarking on a quest and tackling a few frogs but my first challenge of the day is having a shower and I'm not feeling up to that yet.
Grateful for an easy day with the couch all to myself, a good series to watch (re-watching mostly but I've forgotten a lot of the twists) and a gripping new book (a guilty pleasure as the writer's/ perspective is pure daily wail), good food, drinking lots of water.8 -
£200 bank switch bonus arrived this morning, Thank you! Got a lovely card from DH's auntie with a £25 S&M voucher. Now I have to go to S&M! (It involves paying for parking
)
Going to deep clean the house - from the top to the bottom - today, not exciting in the least, but needs doing. Will reward myself with baking some scones if I get as far as the kitchen, and put on a pizza dough to rise if I get there before 3pmEnjoy your 3 day holiday Turtle-friends, if you get it. If you don't, I hope you get at least time-and-a-half.It is all nonsense anyway only drag queens and Cinderella should have a golden coach in this day and age! It is all rather bonkers.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
