Feeling good today,
went to bed reading about 9 as DH was at football, got up early and went to the gym at lunchtime. But also spent money, bought a inexpensive plastic greenhouse to go with the tomatoes etc I ordered yesterday. I decided to spend the money I would have on drink etc on things I actually enjoy doing. Also rather then just doing chores everyday and leave those things to when I'm dry for x months, why not invest in those hobbies now, get to do them and be motivated by the joy they bring and thereby having the strength to say no to DH.
P.S. the spending was impulsive but I love gardening and will make use of it. However, that was the last of it as I have everything else that I need to pick up some of my old hobbies again and will of course now focus on getting the debt down rather than spent all the money I don't drink.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2510 -
You have no idea how longi t took to find the Mackintosh Rose many years go when youngest was setting up the Dell laptop for me I had no idea how to even switch one one.I hope all is well with you and your two furry companions walking away from the bullying foodbank was the wisest thing to do you seem much happier now.Every laptop over the years has had the Mack Glasgow Rose dd saved it. I was devestated when there was yet another fire at the tea rooms and often wonder if I'll ever be able to go there again.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Gardening has been my salvation during difficult times . As a very small girl my dad and both Grandads would take me to their gardens and allotments and teach me about plants. I;d be clutching a seaside bucket full of worms and be told to put them back i their homes as we needed the worms.Since moving here in the mid 70s I;ve grown fruit and veg plus lots of herbs. When the toxic ex was here it was needed or we would have starved.I found the tomatoes that need tying in too much effort as they soared to the top of the very high fences. i began to grow the tiny tumbler organic tomatoes and they've become my favourite.During the heatwave I was harvesting and cooking for the freezer. I had no idea how long the heatwave would last but it helped to have lots of food and meals in the big chest freezer in the garage.I grew the tumblers in big terracotta pots and hung basketso n the wooden arbour and grew them there too. Back then our local Homebase always had good offers on containers. plants compost and seeds . One day I pickedup abig red chilli plant for 2poundsand had neverending chillies for years.I would say since the start of the Pandemic gardening has helped a lot. My youngest dd is ECV and told by our GP to be careful. Wehave been so careful none of us have caught the virus. The robins have been a real joy there has been Robins , Blackbirds and many other birds here since the the 70s. The first time I heard the robis singing again was back to normal. Ive always fed them in winter but in warmer weather they'd follow mw if I was digging and help themselves to worms.Iused to buy bird food in Wilko but one year decided to try a good supplier. I ordered a number of things plus some dried worms. The children were laughing when I took a parcel out wrapped in layers of newspaper and found it full of live worms. I ran out to the garage and threw it inside locking the door after me.It took me two days before I peeped in the garage the worms were stlll alive so I took the newspaper package outside and sprinkled them on the borders and beds aware MR Robin and MR Blackbird would soon be fighting over them. I did order from that company for a couple of years as they had a good variety of winter food but then went back to buying in Wilko. I was in there shortly before lockdown bbut the shop was too crowded customers ignoring the distancing signs staff too .Ihaven't bought bird food since and the birds seem to find their own food.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

We had intended to go for a walk in the local park today but it was so windy and cold that we decided just to go to the shops and buy an ingredient to make a new recipe at the weekend. I didn't have anything suitable as a substitute.
So things done today:- Walked just under two miles
- Collected new glasses. Radically different but I really like them
- Managed to find the ingredient that I needed. I thought it might be a bit difficult but they had it in Aldi
- Donated to the food bank
- Had salad for lunch, Waiting to hear if the Boy is visiting before deciding on dinner
- No alcohol or snacking
- Read another four chapters of my book
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Hi, sorry I'm late, but can I pls join. And May the 4th be with you all. I just went on a spending spree at c00p getting tomatoes, a last date wrap and 2 beers. I am celebrating doing a week's work in 4 days, incl evening class and open evening in one week and that I did go for a club run yesterday. For saying no to a trip that clashed with an other close to the heart commitment. And for planning a day out on Monday with a friend - pre booked woho. Will need to catch up on reading but that will be on the weekend.
This week I am getting two medical checkups out of the way and dentist was last week. I am trying to look after myself while getti g stuff done. Boring stuff and fun stuff. I will attach a photo of my fun tumeric print - everything went yellow for a bit. Very spring like. Happy Thursday.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Evening turtles
Woke up at 5am today and couldn't sleep. Got up at 6 and did an hours pilates (after a very much needed coffee).
Spend day today as booked an escape room for my birthday for me and some friends. They've transferred me the money. I was also absolutely famished after lunch so I bought a little pasta salad. OH and I are off out for dinner tonight, just a local well known Japanese chain, no occasion but just don't fancy cooking if I'm totally honest! Not MSE but also not a regular thing so not beating myself up over it.8 -

You're doing really well. take it easy with the tidying and try to pace yourself. It wasquite mild and sunny earlier today but the clouds began to roll in it got windy and then the sun disappeared. I could feel my mood drop. No deliveries at all after a while I went back in to my emails and every delivery was showing as est 5-7pm. Well I could deal with that but have wasted a day checking those orders all day.First delivery was about half an hour ago a lovely man who has been here before. Bit by bit he brought 9 boxes and packages out of his van. some of the boxes very heavy. he isn't Amazon but a different company and polite and efficient. One of the very heavy boxes was the Fentimans Rose Lemonade another fentimans Ginger Beer I'd forgotten ordering . No idea what ended up at the too far away Post Office but it wasn't the Fentimans. Lots of deliveries due this evening including the pain killer , cough mixture and hayfever tablets . The hayfever tablets will arrive each month so no need to try to get them elswherewhich has been difficult the last couple of years.I hadn't been able to find suitable reading glasses on the site. Tried to order one pair and the page kept going blank. Last night I remembered something I used to do years ago if I broke or lost my reading glasses. I would search my handbags and generally found a couple of pairs that were ok. Did that earlier today though the bags upstairs haven't been used for a number of years. I only take the same bag with me as it's perfect for what I need. I managed to find two pairs so am no longer squinting through one lens.No more deliveries since the big one earlier but they're all showing as out for delivery. I want to keep the curtains open as long as possible before closing them and putting the lights on.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Thanks for your garden memories @pollyanna_26.
Did another hour of decluttering, amazing what you can get done if you just start. Did 3 more kitchen cupboards and the massive craft/pen/paint cupboard which is the size of a small wardrobe. Feels good...DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/258
