"I started the day well, instead of a to-do list of everything pressing I wrote "a today will be successful if..." shorter list, "
I like your idea @Starlight_at_Sea. Going to try it outNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸10 -
Today will be better/successful if I:
- Get a washing on early and line dried
- Empty the dishwasher early so dirty dishes don’t lie out
- Go for a walk and get some natural light and fresh air
- Post V!ntd order and get it out of the house and off the to do list
- Make a batch of chilli that will do tonight’s and another couple of nights’ dinner

that's a great idea @Starlight_at_Sea
Yesterday was a public holiday in Madrid (2 de mayo 1808 uprising against the French) so Seville was much quieter as it was a normal working day there. We went for a simple breakfast in a pretty square and then walked to Triana across the river and had a coffee in an indoor market there. At around 1pm we went for lunch at a tapas place bf knew, which was awesome. Croquetas, aubergine with molasses and fried Camembert for me, and loads of meat for bf. Walked about getting our souvenirs, I went back to the cheese place from the day before to pick up some of the manchego with black garlic. Had a cold coffee then went into a museum (the indias archive) to escape the heat.
Walked a fair way again, we had until 9pm to wait for our train (think the available trains were either super early or super late) had a slice of pizza and an ice cream and then went to sit in the lobby of a posh hotel to get out of the heat again. Went to see the birthplace of Velazquez which was near where we were staying and picked up our bags.Train home was painless, wrote a bit, read a bit and slept a bit. Home by 12:30am, had to make the bed and shower so was knackered by the time finally made it to bed. Up early this morning despite wanting to sleep in, but got lots done.
Today will be successful if I
- eat a work frog
- get a food shop in
- do a RAK!have a wonderful day turtles

I also love the 'Today will be succesful if' list Starlight. I'm going to add a twist by having 'quests' - so instead of hours of tedious work tracking down my pinsentry machine, the pinsentry machine will be the 'grail' and instead of 'work' I'll be making my way through swamps and hacking down thickets of brambles that are getting in my way with my trusty sword (grabber stick) by my side.
I wrote my 'big intentions' out yesterday. Today I'll continue working on 'lists', planning meals from what I have (lots of frozen veg), setting out single tasks that will 'make things better now'. I'm reinstating Frog Friday which willl be a mixture of ancient tasks (that have fallen off the list altogether but still niggle their way into my consciousness from time to time) and avoiding procrastination by tackling jobs at the tadpole stage.
Another couple of hacks I'll be adding 'batching tasks' by GYST - so trying for 2 days a week to buy shopping ( a mix of groceries, other basics, diy supplies and any 'extras'. Many people in the Decluttering thread are also in the 23 things for 23 thread and they're doing decluttering and /or tidying for 23 minutes a day or multiples of 23 minutes. so I could possibly spend 23 mins on 'housework', 23 mins on 'decluttering maintenance' (Clutter fairy's list of 5 minute jobs (which take me longer than 5 minutes), 23 'productive minutes' (ultimately 23 minutes in every hour but that's not achievable short term so 23 productive minutes in a day initially).
It's a lovely day so I'd like to get outside at some point (maybe when the sun has moved over the roof to the front of the house). I learnt how to put my emails back in the proper order and the art classes at the library are still happening so I'll try going there next week or the week after. I missed film club (went completely out of my headuntil it was too late. I'd seen/ wasn't interested in the previous 2 month's films but the longer I stay away , the harder it will get. It's a fairly easy no stress social situation so I'll commit to doing that this month.
Grateful for getting things done (mainly bags of stones/ mortar and cement), conversations with Mr Robin - he's been on his own the past few days so I hope Mrs Robin is in the nest, foot exercises.
😎😎 just because they're there (there is a thread discussing this new 'font' or whatever it is and the blue haired 'eek' emoli was the most popular topic - so add your voice if you want blue hair back in the next round of improvements.

The poor guy who is overseeing the change over has obviously never been on the forums. Has no idea that there is a whole community of people supporting recovering addicts, be it gambling, alcohol, drugs, spending etc and that the emojis are vital and have meanings most people just would not understand. This site is not a 'normal' chat function. He is going to be on a heck of a learning curve as to what MSE contains in the deepest darkest corners beyond the weekly email and the best regional building society account to stash £250,000 in.
Here. 🦎 Have a newt. Happy Wednesday

Oops, just ruined an NSD for this offer from the MSE website, even just worth it for the seeds packets. I might have to try and grow the tomatoes outside this year if we're replacing the conservatory with an extension.
Tomato plants and vegetable seeds bundle £10 delivered*
Go via this MSE Blagged Thompson & Morgan* link and you can get you a bundle of tomato plants and vegetable seeds for £9.99 delivered (£3 for the plants, plus £6.99 delivery). The offer ends at 11.59pm on Monday 8 May or when all 10,000 bundles have gone, whichever's sooner.
The set includes nine tomato plants in three different varieties which are supplied as 'postiplug plants' (5-9cm in height), and 10 packets of Grow Your Own Vegetable seeds. In exceptional circumstances Thompson & Morgan may substitute plants with similar varieties of equal or greater value. It includes:
- 3 x Tomato ‘Moneymaker’
- 3 x Tomato ‘Tumbling Tom’
- 3 x Tomato ‘Sweet Aperitif’
- 10 x packets of 'Grow Your Own' vegetable seeds including varieties such as broad beans, carrots, salad leaves, cucumber, sweetcorn and more

It wasn't a NSD today. We needed some milk and salad things. Since I'd spent some money anyway I ordered a nice bottle of malt whisky for Himself's birthday. He has quite a collection of malts. Doesn't drink them - just likes having them. I know he doesn't have this one. It was 50% off but still quite expensive.
Today's little achievements- Walked just over two miles. Well, it was more of a stroll really but still better than sitting on my bottom doing nothing like I've been doing for the past four or five months
- Bagged some YS items in Aldi. It will all be used in the next few days
- Donated to the food bank (the collection point is looking quite empty these days!)
- Himself bought me lilies and scented candles
- Had a salmon salad for lunch. Salmon came from freezer
- Meatballs from the freezer and jar of tomato and basil sauce from the larder for dinner (should really make my own sauce but there is so much there it needs using up)
- Collected my new tablets so I can start taking them now. Very important
- Did a bit of tidying
- Half way through my book
- No alcohol. chocolate or other random fattening things
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Evening turtles. NSD 2 today. I went to the gym first thing, it was lovely and quiet for a change.
Had to take bunny to the vet as she has a respiratory infection. Antibiotics for her and a wee bill for me which I need to pay. She's insured but don't think the bill came to much more than her excess so we'll see if she needs to go back.
Got some washing out and line dried in the gorgeous weather! Makes such a difference.
Bit of a frustrating day at work, I eventually lost my mojo and played a game on my phone for a bit instead. Oops!
Defrosted dinner for tomorrow and have prepped a healthy lunch. Not sure how I'm being so organised atm but I'm not knocking it!6 -
4 loads of line dried laundry! Meter readings submitted and we have used a lot less than last month. All food from stores. No spends.
Won £250 on the PBs so I now have a fun budget!
In-laws sent £50 as an anniversary present, so will take DH out for lunch one day 🥂. Finally seem to be getting somewhere.
Hugs to all struggling, keep strong and know that you have a 🐢 army behind you.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
