Somebody else using Pilio?matelodave said:The best way to compare temperature differences between months or even days and heating loads etc is to use "degree days" https://www.degreedays.net/calculation. You can download the data from your local weather station going back by quite a long time.
Obviously April 2023 isn't complete yet but for heating geeks there's a wealth of info that can be gleaned
you could then plot your heating consumption against degree days to see how well your system tracks. a bit like this - data from 1/1/2021 to 3/4/23
the three charts are heating degree days from my local weather station (RAF Marham), and how my leccy consumption tracks them. However, because its all my electricty consumption rather than just the heating system (I dont have a meter to only record heating consumption) there's quite a high base load and high anomalous peaks (use of oven, washing machine dryer etc) but you get the idea.

Haven't checked the heat pump but the wall thermostat every time I've looked over the last couple of weeks has been above 18℃, which means it's not needing to kick in (I guess it could be coming on early morning, but if it is then we're somehow retaining the heat well).
Overall energy usage is on track to be slightly lower than last year, and 100kWh lower than 2020. We have made tweaks since last year but more people are home every day again now, and I am showering more often with the wet room (and a shower we can't put into eco mode, boo) - not great for electric usage but being able to keep cleaner is SO much better for my body, the lack of energy reduction is worth it to me.1 -
Currently at 20% less gas than last year April to date. But had to put the heating on this evening and rads that don't usually come on have
At year to end of March we were 13% down on last year.Heating came out of winter mode on 3rd against 14th last year.0 -
The sun came round to living room 3 weeks ago and helps but blocked by street trees. Next week temp outside for 6 days is forecast highest 13 degrees in Midlands. If anyone has had heating off what temperature is your living room. Is it ok because sunlight gets in.0

A combination of using the heat in my conservatory to heat the rest of the house and an average so far of 15 kwh a day in April from my solar panels means i have used less than 2 kwh a day in leccy and less than 20 kwh of gas from the grid.1
