🤞that your dad gains some weight now that he's in the home @bubbs. You're obviously very good at persuading him to eat and the food sounds appetising.

I add a dash of Worcester sauce and a squirt of tomato puree as well to make Marie Rose sauce for prawn cocktail.

We just got back from visiting our local NT property. We had an early dinner then went to see their rose gardens as they're open late specially at this time of the year. They smell gorgeous in the evening. I had an ice cream, just a small tub of ginger. IIRC it's 7 syns. Not that fussed as I'll be having loads when I'm away but trying to stay on plan as long as possible.

@maman that rose garden sounds glorious. I love the smell of roses.

Managed to stay on plan today. I went and did a food shop as the cupboards were bare - turns out watermelons and potatoes are much heavier than crisps and biscuits so I also inadvertently did some weights walking home!

Breakfast - fruit and fibre (heb), oat milk (hea)

Dinner - micro rice (1.5), grated carrot and spring onions (s), satay sauce (3), lime juice, salt and chilli, orange slices for dessert (s)

Tea - jersey royals (f), chickpea and cannellini beans (p, f) with garlic and lemon, rocket (s), salad of cucumber, tomato, pepper, pomegranate (s), houmous (4)

    Snack - nectarine (s)

@bubbs it's really upsetting when you turn around and you seen your parents as old and frail isnt it? Fingers crossed he keeps getting encouraged to eat, and helped if need be, and he starts getting his strength back

So last night I had my crisp sandwich which has become my "naughty I dont care Ive weighed in " treat of the week. Not quite the same when shoved in a wholemeal pitta full of salad but hey ho

Wasnt hungry all day today so lasted out till dinner tonight. I made lamb Kofta and tzatzki tonight - all from scratch including the fat free yoghurt. Served with salad and a wholemeal pitta so all on plan and all so very very "healthy"

Unfortunately Ive hit the whiskey tonight so well over syns, but Ive a lot of poo happening this week and Im needing something before WW3 breaks out

Good news is Ive banked over 400 calories in exercise today so Im not unduly concerned

Food wise as a whole, Im doing ok with soft fruits which thankfully are abundant this time of year. I love blueberries and raspberries and Ive managed a pear and a satsuma  Apples, grapes and strawberries Im still struggling with and today I got some kiwis to attempt.  I cant stomach bananas , love the taste but not the texture and I love peaches, but you cant buy them ripe any more and they taste of cotton wool so I dont bother with those anymore

Im enjoying salad at the moment and Im loving grilled peppers and mushrooms

Im struggling with carbs. I hate potato , not even a jersey royal does it for me now, jacket spuds - not without half a pack of butter :) Ive been using couscous but have poisoned myself with it and just cant face it any more. Pasta, well thats now my Saturday dinner. I adore pasta and can eat a whole pack quite easily, but whilst SW call it a free food, its not something that should be eaten in such quantities so Im avoiding it till Saturday when I make a salmon or prawn chilli pasta and fill my boots :)

I would always have bread and butter and Im really struggling not having that. If I was cooking a meal for the family which I knew I couldn't face, I could have at least part of it - with bread and butter. Now thats not on the menu , I look at whats cooked, think I cant stomach that and so go without, which is why Im struggling to eat enough

I so get the cheese sandwich that Sue mentions. Id be more then happy with a cheese sandwich, any sort of sandwich, breakfast lunch and tea, yet the amount of Syns per a slice makes it a no no for me

Im beginning to understand where @Abbafan is coming from

    Morning all.

Hope everyone is well. WI this morning was a 2lb loss, so am happy with that.  :)

@bubbs hope your Dad continues to eat well and gain weight. @Jellybaby lucky you retiring soon!

Busy day tomorrow - food shopping, cemetery to put flowers on my grandparents grave. Hubby needs to wash the car. Need to cut the grass, but am going to try and do that tonight. Also need to sort out what to wear next week, as me and the youngest DD are going to Harry Styles at Wembley. Getting my hair cut on Sunday morning.

I had a text from the SW consultant yesterday morning, I haven’t responded yet.

Hi (name), I hope you're OK, I didn't get chance to catch up with you the other week, I can guess you were really disappointed with the results at the scales, and I just wanted to reassure you there's no shame or judgements in group, and want to support you 100 %. We're having a taster session, why not come along even if you don't want to get weighed xx

That’s the thing - I don’t really find it supportive at all.

i knew it was the taster session, as I saw it on the groups FB page.

Hopefully, it’s going to be a nice day again, the sun is trying to break through.

    Happy Friday all! xx

    Morning everyone,

I was in London for an event yesterday. My role was logistics - venue, food and tech for 150. Can report back that it went really well and the venue/staff were amazing which was such a relief after March's shower! Long day though and my sinusitis is still with me - no smell or taste and a real pressure across my temple. Our anniversary meal was lovely (apparently...) and we had some fizz - I only had one glass. I chose hake for my main course which came with some lovely veg too, followed by a mint tea.

DDad is back with us from this morning and we are off to Suffolk for the week tomorrow. To those of you with parental ill-health worries I send my love and support. We had 18 months of DDad having one thing after another, and being he lives abroad it added to the stress. I never underestimate how lucky we are still to have him.

Well done @Abbafan1972 on your loss xx

    Food today:
    B - 2 x WM toast, jam - HEB, 1
    L - poached egg, grilled bacon, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes - P, S
D - chilli con carne with rice - free
    HEA - milk
    Syns - pink n white 2.5 plus 1 so 3.5 total

    Have a good day all

    Morning all,

Well done on the loss @Abbafan1972 my niece saw Harry Styles in Glasgow and is totally smitten :)

Have a great holiday @Coxy11 with your family. Hope you feel better soon x

I'm on the roasted veg this week too @Longwalker like Maman, I find it handy to cook a load and keep in the fridge for a quick lunch or bulk out other meals. Tonight I'm having the flat mushrooms roasted pizza style with tomato puree, other veg bits and topped with cheese.

Another dull start to the day here but forecast to brighten up by lunchtime.  Two loads of washing ready to go out - where does it all come from??!

    Today's plan:
B - f/f Greek yoghurt, fruit salad using up whatever's left
L - ham salad sandwich (HEB), beetroot, gherkins
D - steak, flat mushroom pizzas, roasted onions, tomatoes and green beans

Trying to keep syns low this week for a decent loss as it's another 'fresh start' 😁

    Have a good day all.

That was me at about the same point as you...

I have a jacket potato with chicken gravy now, made thick. It helps me get over the wanting to put butter all over it, I could never eat a dry jacket tatty.

I also overdid the couscous, so much so that I can't face it and it has been several months now since I last had it. I'm also having a similar issue with eggs which were my staple for so long but I can still stomach them occasionally.

A new thing I have found which I do as a treat is microwave noodles, rump steak done in the air fryer and then thinly cut into strips, soy sauce and spring onions. I find one standard piece of steak will do two meals and will seek out special offers or reduced offerings to make it affordable.

Other than that my diet mainly consists of microwave rice (0.5 syn per pot), fish sticks, ham, low fat cheese slices and pickled onions plus bananas and satsumas with occasional chicken and chorizo skewers or fish cakes. If I have rice with one meal, I don't have it with the other.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

@Jellybaby, I was doing the same with the roasted veg - aubergine, courgette, red onion and peppers - big batch in the fridge as my go to and to put on every plate - after three weeks of that, cant face it any more :(

The other thing thats turning me is dairy lea triangles lol. Ive been using them every day as my exchange for butter, im becoming sick of them, esp when I spread one the other day and it squelched

Im looking to make my own cheese, at least it wont have a chemical taste

    Afternoon all

I'll start off saying i am truly knackered, i really never slept well last night 😫 i think it was the shock of Dad 😪

Longwalker yes it is very very sad 😥especially with him as he had never been unwell in his life till 18 months ago, now has everything all at once :(

Maman, yes we can usually persuade him to eat and drink  something, the staff are very good there too.

Abbafan, well done on your loss 👏👏👏

Coxy, well done with your event yesterday, have  a lovely holiday, hope we have this beautiful weather 😁

Maman, not sure when you go but have a lovely time

I am going WI in the morning, not hopeful but been on plan, we will see. I won't be going what ever next week.

I had some ham and a banana this morning, odd i know but didn't take anything and was hungry

Lunch i had ww wrap hexb, with 1/2 hexa cheese spread and ham salad with speed on the side.

Friday means fake KFC and salad 😋😋

Talking about roasted veg, with all the cooking i do i have only ever done roast potatoes and parsnips 😂
