Morning all.
Hope your dad's antibiotics start kicking in soon, along with the extra fluids @bubbs
@Abbafan1972 I don't follow SW to the letter but it made me think a bit better about food - keep plodding, we'll get there!
Food aversions can be difficult @Longwalker - hope you manage to find something that excites you again soon. I wouldn't worry about the maintain too much - when you start being even more active, your body tends to freak out a bit, and the heat also doesn't help. Keep plodding, it will work.
Spent the weekend gong backwards and forwards to the hospital; dad thought he was having some fluid drained off the cyst on Friday but they actually fitted a drain instead and it didn't quite go to plan so he'll probably be in for most of the week too. Did give me a chance to continue clearing stuff out of their house though! Oh and I lost another pound again this week so stress is clearly working for me!
Had some shredded wheat for breakfast, lunch is going to be another salad depending on what needs using up and dinner is spanish chicken and veg (at least I think that's what my mum said she was putting in the slow cooker!)

Well done on your pound loss @ruby_eskimo.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Obviously I can't recommend stress as a way of losing weight but pleased for you anyway.
Sorry to hear about your food issues @Longwalker but the things you listed were all SW friendly so could easily fit into the plan. 😊
I think, like you, most people adapt the plan to suit their own circumstances @SingleSue. I've always used the syn bank instead of daily syns. I don't need a treat every day but I like something to look forward to at weekends. I know I can maintain on 105 (probably a few more than that as I don't measure HEAs just go by eye) but to lose I have to come in below that. I wonder if you're affected by medication as that can go against weightloss.
There's a programme on tonight about the health effects of highly processed foods. I'm never 100% sure what falls into that category so will be watching. Apparently for the BBC study they matched the calorie counts to compare a home cooked against a processed diet.
Well done on getting some batch cooking done @Jellybaby. I find it really helps to have HM ready meals to hand to hand for busy or CBA days.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk, bacon, egg (P), baked beans (F)
L- ham (P), 1 potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- sausage, mash, peas (F), broccoli, carrots, onions
Syns- Aldi sausages 10 -
Quite probably Maman, although my metabolism was always sluggish even back in my ultra fit, dancing and running days, I could never get away with treats even though I was dance training for several hours a day.
Now I have the extra complications of not being able to exercise, a sluggish metabolism and high dose steroids to contend with! To be honest, I don't need the syns for treats, I didn't have them (the treats that is) before I started at SW, so don't miss them now.
SW has taught me my body does not respond well to fibre and wheat, if I have more than a tiny amount of potatoes I end up bloated and my 'system' sluggish and the weight loss slows or stops, if I have wheat, I have the same response but with the added thing of reflux (so HexB has to be strictly controlled and not every day). My diet is certainly a lot more balanced than it used to be using the basics of the plan but I had more freedom with choices on WW, probably not as healthy a choice but less restrictive. It is probably the removal/drastic restriction in the wheat I am consuming and the cutting down on potatoes plus consuming more fruit and salad that has had a biggest impact thus far. My veggie consumption has hardly changed, I don't like most of them.
My current craving is a cheese and pickle sandwich, just a bog standard one with no airs or graces....I'm not even that keen on cheese and pickle sandwiches (I love the pickle but have a love hate relationship with cheese) so go figure! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Well done on your wee loss @beanielou! 👏👏👏
That's good news about your dad @bubbs. He got on really well IIRC the last time he was in that home, put on weight rapidly and was settled. 🤞
The baked sweet potato looks tasty. We had them mashed tonight but have a couple left so will copy you later in the week. 😊0 -
That's fab news bubbs.
Your dad was so much better there.
