Well done @Abbafan1972, I think we just need to do what works for us. 16/17 months of SW and I'm finding now I'm craving so much sweet stuff and lots of it. But that's me and what led to me being hugely overweight. I sometimes liken my relationship with food akin to that of an alcoholic and that wanting to binge on sweets is always going to be there for me.Anyway another busy day in the sun. I had my nephews aged 2 and 4 for the day - I'm going to sleep well tonight!I have been off plan today, no idea on syns but don't think it's too horrendous... 🤞B: overnight oats, blueberries and strawberries 1/2 hex bL: skinny crunch and nectarine on the run 1/2 hexb

Hope you enjoyed Mr Whippy @annabanana82. 😁🍦
One of the reasons SW works for me is that the 105 syns a week is an easy guide to how many treats we should have in a balanced diet. I'm not saying it's easy but I think it's worth it.
I do hope they get your dad's infection under control very soon @bubbs. It's obviously a bit of the delirium, that comes with infection, talking about the tools. I feel for your mum, it must be so hard for her. 🤗0 -
It was blinking lovely @mamanI think for me SW works as its generally reset my attitude to food moving away from calories and having a different measure to use.For example, I learned that belgian buns and chocolate buttons tasted nice before I learnt that they contained calories. So whilst in time I learnt the calorific content, I didn't care as I put taste and greed before the nutritional value.
Now, I have syns and I've got a pretty simple way of learning what a balanced diet really looks like. It's almost like budgeting my finances.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

That's a great analogy @annabanana82. Eating too many sweets is a bit like splurging on a sports car when you haven't paid your gas bill! 🤣0

maman said:Really pleased for you getting a loss @Abbafan1972. Whatever you're doing has motivated you! 👍
I think we've all had our issues with SW, both the plan and some consultants. What I was curious about was what you found restrictive. I chose SW (the only 'diet' I've ever done) precisely because I can eat as much as I like. 😁
I agree that SW is a good plan - I originally started my 1st group in 2015 and lost just over 7st in total, I did get to target once in 2019 before all the lockdowns, but then had to stop going to group when they all closed and went to Zoom calls.
For me though, I think the plan has run it's course. I did briefly use myfitnesspal monitoring my calorie intake when I stopped going to group previously, but now I have a better understanding of it, I am doing that again and feel more motivated.
With regards to feeling restricted - I find that I feel deprived with the syns system and end up binge eating, as I've gone over my syns. I have honestly tried my best on it. But I know I'm not going to get the result I want at WI and feel like I am just wasting my £5.95 every week, as I just seem to juggle the same few pounds.
I am an active person and love to exercise and no reason why I can't do it with calorie counting and plenty of fluids.
The consultant at my group is lovely yes, but at the end of the day it's a business and they just want your money every week. Can't say she's that motivational either, lol! The other members at the group are lovely, but you can pick out the ones that are just there for the social aspect of it and not there to lose weight at all - but that's their choice and their money of course.
There you go - I didn't really want to post that, but wanted to be totally honest about it all.
Thanks @annabanana82
Take care everyone. xx

Thanks @Abbafan1972. Wow! You did well to lose 7 stone. 👍 Good luck with your new routine.
I'm having lamb today. I love my roast dinner despite the heat. It's fattier than some roasts which is why I always try to have it when I'm not going to WI for a while. Same with pork (which we had last week) as then I can allow myself a little bit of crackling.
Went out before lunch today and not long been back. I just snacked on some ham and plums to keep me going until dinner about 7.30pm.
Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), plums (S)
D- roast lamb (P), SW roast potatoes (F), cauliflower, broccoli, cabbages, swede & carrot mash, red cabbage (S)
Syns - gravy 4, weekend wine 😁

Hi all,Think your well done was intended for @Abbafan1972 not me @maman
Had a spendy day today, shopping with DD getting her ready for her trip to Malaysia next month.
I feel hungry today, but trying to keep it reined in following my ice cream yesterday. Had my dinner then realised it's been quite repetitive.

L: subway chicken tikka salad, sriracha sauce 1 syn hex aChicken salad, new pots 2 syns for salad cream. Muller light 1/2 syn

Thanks @annabanana82. I'm blaming my phone! Have corrected my error. I bet we'd all like to be confused with someone who's lost 7 stone! Didn't she do well. 👏
How long before your DD goes to Malaysia? 🤔
I wouldn't worry about repetitive unless you're bored. I have similar lunches at the beginning of every week (LO veg and pickles) but I enjoy it. It's very mse and so easy to just cook extra veg on a Sunday. Pickles (especially beetroot) are my friends, easy Speed.0 -
