Morning all, bit grey this morning but it's forecast to brighten up later.

@Coxy11 - Sounds like you had a good day yesterday and it doesn't sound as though you were over syns with what you had - coffee instead of ice cream!  Well done you - I'd have gone for the icecream!

I'm surprised your mum has been told it's a 6 month timeframe as my friend waited 14 months to have hers done - she was actually blind in one eye by the time it was done.  Do you know where she's been referred to?  My referral was only sent to my GP on Wednesday evening so haven't heard anything yet.  I've got Benenden cover so will use that if I can but of course need to wait until the GP has done the referral.  The optician mentioned in the referral that I'd like to get it done at Beneden but whether that will happen I don't know.  Once I've got the actual referral letter I'll get in contact with Benenden although you seem to have to wait much longer now than you used to years ago now that it's been opened up to everyone.

    Today's plan:

    B - toasted cheese sandwich - HEA2; HEB
    L - jacket potato, tuna mayo, salad - P; S; F; 1
    D - egg, chips, mushrooms, beans - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - LTL mayo 1; may have a couple of Skinny Whip minis as well for 3 syns

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.  Sounds like a lot's been happening over the last few days and while I've read the posts, I haven't really absorbed what's been said.

Spent Saturday in A&E with dad - more bloods (worse than the ones he had during the week), more scans and lots of confusion over who is responsible for his care.  Local hospital is limited in what they can do (the cyst needs to come out but they can't do that because it's super complex) and they couldn't get hold of anyone at the specialist hospital.  So we're going back Tuesday to spend the day getting more scans and tests and seeing the local liver Dr who will hopefully be able to get us some answers from the specialist.

Was my mum's birthday yesterday and I managed to convince them to leave the house for an hour to go to a local cafe on the river but that was worse than herding cats 🤣 Cooked a gammon roast for dinner, and may have had a slice of birthday cake too.

Food's a bit all over the place and haven't been able to weigh myself (not sure I want to really!).  Had some weetabix for breakfast, lunch will be gammon salad and then dinner I think is some kind of pasta.

Hope everyone has a good day!

@ruby_eskimo - with all that's going on I suspect that SW is the last thing on your mind.  Just do the best you can.  Hope your dad can get some answers when he goes to the hospital tomorrow.

I think Brighton is one of the most expensive places I've ever parked @Coxy11, a weekend conference has cost us £"100+, but sounds like you all had a nice day so probably worth it. 😊

Today's meal plan looks good @ruby_eskimo, probably a day at a time is your best bet at the moment.

It's interesting that posts on here evidence the problems going on in the NHS nationally. 🤞🏼 your dad gets an answer @ruby_eskimo and you get a timely result from your referral @joedenise

I'm thinking of doing garlic mushrooms with dinner tonight as I've got some of the Seriously spreadable cheese to use up. DH made porridge with milk this morning so I may be a little over with HEAs but I have 36 syns left for the next three days and no other plans to use them so a few extra on cheese won't be a problem.

Are your scales showing any loss yet @joedenise? 🤔

    Today's EE plan-
    B- HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, berries (S), banana (F)
    L- cold chicken (P), 2 potatoes (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- baked salmon (P), cubed potatoes (F), carrot cubes, asparagus, broccoli, tomatoes (S), garlic mushrooms (S, HEA2)
Syns- possibly 3/4 from extra cheese

@maman - unfortunately still no movement - but at least it hasn't gone up!  I can't see me actually getting to group before my holiday at this rate.  I refuse to go if I can't get back into target range with going away for the whole of June.  I think I'm going to lose access to the website at the end of the month as that will be 8 weeks since I weighed but if that's the case so be it - I'll just have to stick with things I know and if I come across anything new then ask on here for the syns, LOL!

Unbelievably I actually got a copy of the e-referral in the post today!  However it says not to contact them until 13 July if I haven't heard anything by then!  I can't see me getting an appointment between my two holidays so I'll give Benenden a call on my return from France if there isn't a letter from the NHS by then.

    Hi all,

Sorry to hear there's so much ill health and problems with the NHS affecting parents and yourselves.

No motivation at work today, about to move to a new line manager and a new structure at work so hoping things will get better as I'm really not convinced I like my current job.

My hubby is looking at holidays to Mauritius, he hates flying and looking at some real iffy flight sites so I think his thoughts might change when he sees the proper prices. After being quite content to not have a holiday this year, I think my arm could be twisted... hmm its never going to happen

    Food for today

B: overnight oats, blueberries and strawberries 1/2 hex b

L: tuna salad, 2 plums 1 syn salad cream

D: Roast gammon, Jersey royals, and roast veg - carrots shallots and maybe swede not roasted swede before but feeling lazy.
    Bisto 2 syns

Thinking of all you who are dealing with ill health amongst your parents, its not easy. esp that you are the child, now having to be the parent. None of us thought we would be spending our middle years being carers

Although mum lives with us, and has had more then her fair share of illness, apart from the AF, shes doing well, I think she will out live me

Thankyou for the kind words. Jim was a wonderful man and he has left a huge space in so many lives

Finally got all the linens wash, dried , sorted and put away. I was ruthless so hopefully I never have to do that again, I can now keep on top of it. When I started this decluttering ( 2019 ) Im talking serious serious clutter. One bookcase took a couple of days but the places I have done, all managed now and never gone back to how they were. Still not a perfectly tidy home but so much better and easier to keep on top off

Anyways food today was the slice of rye, assorted salad and pickle and mackeral

Dinner, they had more of the gammon with mash and veggies. I had a bowl of HM butternut squash and red pepper soup, the rest of last nights couscous with some shredded gammon though it.

Made a huge batch of yoghurt as well, omg its beautiful. Always amazed by it, sometimes its nicer then other times., todays is near on perfect :)
