Morning all, not quite as bright this morning but hopefully it'll brighten up later.  Need to go into town today as have virtually run out of potatoes and onions!  How on earth did that happen?  Also need to pick up one of my sandles from the menders - while we were away the stitching came undone on the strap so took that in to get restitched - I've not even worn these sandles very much having only got them last summer and was alternating with my old ones which are still going strong and they're about 7 or 8 years old!  Also need to pop to the next village to pick up the rest of DH's prescription and an Xray form for him from the GP surgery.

Have cooked some green lentils this morning ready to assemble a dish fo lunch.  Will do that when I get back from town.  Need to check I've got everything I need as it's a new recipe I'm going to try.  It'll be a cheap one if it works!

    So today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs and spinach on toast - P; S; 7
    L - Green lentil and rocket falafel, salad , soft pitta - HEB; P; S; F
D - fish pie; veg (which we should have had yesterday - I'm going to do a cheat's cheese sauce which just uses stock & cheese) - HEA2; P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - Primula Light
    HEB -  soft pitta
    Syns - 2 slices Morrisons WM 800g loaf 7

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all.

Sorry to hear about your dad being back in hospital @bubbs, but hope this is the catalyst to get both of them some help at home.  I've got to take my dad back to A&E this evening as his latest tests aren't great and he's not feeling that good in general.  Hospital have said to bring him in and they'll try to drain some fluid to ease the symptoms and then try to get him in at the specialist hospital next week but who knows 🤷‍♀️

Been for a run this morning before work (managed 4 km) and now I'm feeling a bit tired but I know it was the right call - was way too hot on Wednesday evening to go out so back to early mornings for me.  Had scrambled egg on toast and an apple for breakfast, no idea on lunch and dinner will be a chicken katsu curry with rice and salad.

Off to do some actual work now.  Hope everyone has a good day and weekend.

    Morning all,

Sending hugs @bubbs - I really hope you can get some help for DDad and DMum soon xx

My parents both stayed last night and have gone off to Kew Gardens today. They get on well despite being divorced for 40 years and DDad being remarried for 36 years! We have DMum's dog to look after today plus DIL2B is coming with their dog at 11am-4pm. Will be interesting.....!

    Food today:
    B - granola, strawberries, mullerlight vanilla - HEB, S, 0.5
    L - ham, pickles, tomatoes - P, S
D - fish and veg - I need to shop for this at lunchtime/after work as both parents are staying for tea.
    HEA - milk
    HEA - mini babybel
    Syns - 0.5

    Have a good day everyone.

    Eeek I loathe liver.Shudder.
Would starve rather than eat that or rabbit.
When I was a kid that was often the option - eat or go hungry - we ate

Liver was nice as was hearts - lambs hearts. Things like tripe and pigs trotters - weren't

Never minded rabbit either but Im not fussed on it now. Pidgeon was ok

@bubbs , I really hope your parents are going to get the help they need now

Sounds like your area is as bad as mine for health services, non existent , you even have to make an appointment for A&E

My foray into Sainsburys also produced some reduced roasted salmon so Ive just had that, on the rye - was a lovely treat. Mums having the rest. I also picked up some oat bran . Never heard of it before but its supposed to be good for cholesterol busting and I dont really like the texture of overnight oats so thought Id give it a try. If very fine. Ive added it to my yoghurt and fruit and will try it tomorrow. Dont know if anyone else has tried it?

Friday night is chip pan night and thats going ahead as usual - mine will be air fried :( Not that I dont like air fried, but who doesn't love a proper chip? :) No idea whats going with theirs,, Im going for dippy eggs myself :)  I might pop down and get them an individual pie each, then Ill not be tempted with left overs

Oh, I dont know if any of you ladies are on FB? If so you might have seen Cancer Research are doing 100 skips in June and giving away free skipping ropes. They are asking for you to get sponsorship, I unfortunately have nabbed my sponsors for my marathon but thought it such a great idea to get up and moving more, I ordered a rope off Amazon and will be joining in - sending a small donation myself. Right now I think Ill be doing my 100 in groups of tens throughout the day lol. Its been 50 years since I last skipped and I didnt have boobs back then :) But it really is a fun exercise

I finally managed to get a telephone call from my GP this morning!  He's referring me to a specialist for the numbness in my fingers, as I suspected he thinks it's probably carpal tunnel syndrome but thinks I'll probably only need an injection as not bad enough yet for surgery.  How the hell he can tell just by talking to me I've no idea!

He's also asked me to get another blood test done but this time for B12, vitamin D and folate levels as a reduction in any of these can also cause numbness so will do that on Monday morning as picked up the form when the surgery opened this afternoon.

Hopefully the results will be back before we go away in I did any more tablets!
