    Morning everyone.

Terribly naughty of me - no oats made up but luckily after pigging out last night Im not hungry so having a large cappuccino using 1/2 of one of my HEA.. Best thing I have ever treated myself to, an expresso machine. Im the only one who drinks coffee in this house, so it really was a considered spend but it really does feel like a naughty treat and if Im really needing a wee extra, a fine dusting of coca powder. Its proper dark coca but somehow it adds sweetness to coffee, yet its bitter as anything if you stick your finger in for a dab

I have some WH pittas still so if Im hungry later Ill stuff one of those with speed and protein

Liver and bacon for tea tonight. Mum likes hers with chips, he likes his with mash, they are getting HM air fried wedges which means I'll eat the same as them. I soften the sliced onions in the micro wave before frying them in a pan, means I can get away with just a spray of oil. I stopped flouring the liver long time ago and the gravy will be an oxo with a cornflour slurry and the bacon will have to be back bacon or medallions - Ill see whats cheap - probably cooking bacon if I can find a pack that looks to be lean. Pre SW, it would have been streaky, cooked till crispy in the pan and then the onions and liver cooked in the fat from that - oh the good old days :)

Ive got to find some speed food Im going to like. I was getting along with roasted veg, doing a batch and leaving in the fridge, but I think I over did the courgettes and its turned me so need to change the mix

Slight change of plan, I went shopping, just for pillow protectors and new bras - only I went a bit mad in Dunelm, completely forgot to go to Dunnes for the bras, and went for a dander about Sainsburys instead seeing if there was anything I "needed" and it was 4pm before I got to eat anything

I picked up some dark German rye bread from JS - theres nowhere locally that sells it and I just had an open sandwich, dairylea light, beetroot, rocket, smoked mackerel and horseradish - really really lovely. Hopefully the rye bread wont make me windy and bloated as Im finding bread does of late

I will probably stick with what I planned for dinner as we dont eat until half seven

I love rye bread @Longwalker. They sell it in Lidl's here fortunately. As you like mackerel, it's worth trying Princes mackerel in mustard sauce. I get mine from Sainsbury's. It's syn free and I think the sauce is lovely.

It seems that liver and onions is popular as we're having that tonight too! Like you, I always soften onions in the microwave before frying them. It's much quicker. I buy cooking bacon when I see a lean pack. I take off the fat and chop it into lardons and then freeze meal size portions. They're useful for pasta dishes too. My gravy is free today as it's some leftover from the freezer. When I cook Hairy Biker's braised steak I make the full recipe for 4 with meat for 2 and keep the LO gravy. It only has a tsp of cornflour so not worth synning for 4 portions. That's fine for two of us but probably wouldn't work for you with more to feed. It is delicious though.😋

Do keep looking for Speed that you like, it really helps weightloss. Mediterranean veg is great, even without courgettes. I often just have red onions, garlic, peppers (ideally red), mushrooms, tomatoes and sometimes carrots too.

That's a good long stay @Coxy11. The politics talk is a small price to pay to see your dad but strange from someone who lives abroad.

I think we must have the best GP's surgery in the country @joedenise. Yesterday, DH called them just after 9.00 a.m. and had an appointment for 9.50 a.m. with the duty doctor. Even better, his favourite GP was on duty. He had an allergic rash which was so itchy it was keeping him awake but with prescribed creams he's already feeling much better. No idea what he's allergic too. Maybe me??🤣

I portioned up the Bolognese for the freezer and kept some out for my lunch today. I need to do my meal plan later for shopping tomorrow. Plenty of meat in the freezer but may buy steaks for HB (now I've mentioned it) on Sunday to keep syns down before WI.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
    L- JP (F), Bolognese (P,S), beetroot, tomatoes (S)
D- liver and bacon (P), mash, HB gravy (F), onions, carrots, cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
    Syns- 0

@Coxy11.  Yes, you are lucky to still have your dad.

    Evening all .

    Thanks everyone.

My mum is totally broken 😪😪 she is mentally and physically broken. She kept saying today i know he will not come home this time he will die there😥 i don't know what i will do without him. I kept telling her don't be silly he will be home. Obviously i then end up a sobbing mess as well 😥

BUT finally think help is coming, i think the paramedics put a report in as well as the nurses as everyone could not believe they were getting no help 😡 Dad is not allowed home until carers in place , but Mum thought he would be home today and they said no way he will be here a few days.

Maman you dh has an allergic reaction gets an appointment within the hr. My dad has cancer and dementia and Mum can an appointment for him 3 days later until she kicks up a fuss and tells them no today (this was Monday) can you get him here for 10 tomorrow? Mum says no today we need to see someone, ok we will get a home visit and the community nurse came.

Hope carers can be sorted for your mum and dad asap @bubbs.  I'm not surprised you're mum is broken.

Change of plan to menu!!!  Went to the garden centre and ended up eating in there so definitely syns.  I had a salmon and broccoli quiche but didn't eat the pastry.  It was supposed to come with new potatoes and salad and it came with chips!  When I queried it was told they hadn't got any new potatoes - why couldn't they have told me when I ordered it.  So definitely some syns which weren't planned!

Had the scotch egg salad with some new potatoes for dinner instead of the fish pie which we'll have tomorrow night.

Oh, your poor mum @bubbs. I feel for you all. 🤗 On the positive side though, if it results in some proper care then it's the silver lining.

I did smile at your SW friend bringing her daughter today for ice cream. You'll soon have a queue at the door!🤣

I'd have been miffed too @joedenise. Surely, if you order something and they've run out they should tell you. 🤔

My DH isn't a huge fan of liver either @beanielou but he'll eat a small piece. I feel like you do about kidneys. I remember once, they came with a mixed grill in a restaurant and I had to ask them to take it away, I couldn't even stand the smell. ☹️
