    Morning all.

1lb loss at WI last night, so was chuffed with that.

@Coxy11 I will need to lose at least another 2 stone. I haven’t set a target yet. I got to target when I used to attend a Saturday morning group in May 2019. I stayed in target for 5 months and then went on holiday and went out of target and couldn’t get back in. I originally started SW in August 2015, I had a break when it was lockdown and my group went to Zoom meeting a weighing yourself at home. I started this current group last year in January and currently I’ve lost 1st 9lb in that time. When I got to target in 2019 I’d lost just over 7st. I gained some of that weight during the lockdowns and now I’m older and menopausal, I am finding it harder.

The problem with cooking etc I have is this, there are 4 of us in the household and I have to cook for myself as no-one else will eat SW friendly meals with me. My older daughter likes chicken that I do in the air fryer and bolognese but that’s it. Younger daughter works shifts so isn’t always home at tea time and hubby buys things he likes on the weekly shop and has at least 1-2 takeaways a week and yet can still manage to lose weight!

    Welcome @Longwalker

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all,

Welcome back @SingleSue and well done on your STS x
Welcome home @joedenise - you've been industrious with all that washing - great body magic lol!
Well done on the 1lb loss @Abbafan1972 x
    Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today @annabanana82 x
Sorry your foot is playing up @bubbs x

I was 100% on plan yesterday and felt so much better for it. We had a new recipe of Creamy Sausage Pasta last night from the app. I bought the SW Iceland pork sausages which were fine actually. DH loved it and there's a portion leftover for his lunch today. We went to the cinema to see Guardians III and I took a pack of sweet liquorice from Aldi. Only had a couple as, well.... too many is bad news......

What can I do with 125g of plain quark please? Used some for dinner last night and don't want to chuck it. Any ideas?

    Food today:
    B - banana, poached egg, spinach, tomatoes, 1 x WM toast - F, P, S, 1/2 HEB
    L - LO smoky turkey chilli, JP, lettuce, tomatoes - F, 1, S
    D - pan fried chilli salmon, green beans, carrots, leeks - 1, P, S
    HEA - milk
    1/2 HEB - skinny bar
Syns - 2 plus a GnT later so 5 total

    Have a good day all,
    Coxy

@Coxy11, I have just realised that Quark is what I made when I let my yoghurt strain for too long :)

So it was great using as the base of hummus. I used a tin of chick peas ( rinsed)  some roasted garlic - nearly a whole bulb cos roasted garlic isnt so full on, a couple of roasted peppers from a jar and a dollop of quark , I just went by eye, and whizzed in the processor - a liquidiser will work, then added a wee taste of water to get the consistency. Its a taste as you go along dish. I didnt need lemon juice as the quark was sharp enough for me. As good as shop bought and basically as my quark was made with skimmed milk I counted it as part of my HEA - ( I dont take much dairy, about 100ml of semi skimmed if that so I add two dairylea lites to that and count as 1 HEA , consultant said that was fine as long as if I was using milk elsewhere I syn'd it )

Ive some smoked mackerel fillets here which are tough, so Im going to use those and the quark as a mackerel pate

Morning all, washing didn't dry in the few hours I had it on the line but now drying on the airer - can't be bothered to hang it back out as it's forecast to rain shortly!  Was nearly dry so should be able to fold and put away later today or first thing tomorrow.

Well done @SingleSue on STS after your holiday and your lb loss @Abbafan1972.

Sorry to hear your foot is playing up @bubbs.  Hope that starts feeling better soon.

@Coxy11  - I often use Quark instead of yoghurt with fruit.  Some people like to add a bit of sweetener to it but I like it as it is.  You can also whisk it into eggs if you're making a crustless quiche.

Need to go shopping this morning but only getting absolute necessities as got 2 TGTG bags from Morrisons to collect this evening so hopefully there will be some things in that which I can cross off my list.  Anything still needed can wait until Tuesday when I want to go to The Food Warehouse to get some meat and fish.

    Today's plan:

    B - porridge; frozen fruit - HEB; S; F; 1
    L - egg, chips, mushrooms, beans - P; S; F
    D - cottage pie; cauliflower; green veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - oats
Syns - Sweet Freedom sauce 1

Going to try and keep the syns low as would really like to get back into target range to get weighed in a couple of weeks time before my holiday when I know I'll put weight on.  I also have another 5 day motorhome trip to Norfolk before that so would probably be better if I weighed before that as will be having F&C on the Friday night as already paid for!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning everyone

@SingleSue , well done on STS, holidays can be tricky trying to stay on plan or at least make healthier choices when holidays are for indulging

@Abbafan1972, there is no denying that weightless is slower at menopause, but it is not impossible. I started this journey knowing it was going to be slow and I will admit I do get cheesed off when ladies in the group lose a stone in the time its taken me to get 4lb, but I hold on as tight as I can to that loss. As for the family not eating what you cook, what is it they eat that you cant? So far Ive only had to skip one full meal that I cooked for them, mostly we eat the same but Ill swap out some items. I cooked them fish and chips, I had an omelette instead. I do a fry, I have more mushrooms and skip the sausages, Chinese, indian, I skip the breads and spring rolls etc - fill my boots with the main and rice

Mind saying all that I had a dreadful day yesterday food wise. Had my normal coffee mid morning. Lunch which was around 2:30 was egg wraps stuffed with tuna and roasted veg.. For dinner I cooked sausage and mash for them, its a meal Id never eat so was planning on having something later - mushrooms and bacon on toast, only I had a huge row with my mother, and went for a long walk to cool my head, got in around 9pm, had a large scotch and fell asleep not eating lol

So not only did I not eat enough to keep a sparrow alive yesterday, I burned off more calories then I ate !!!

Haven't a clue about today, just had to use my HEB and HEA of two bits of toast and dairylea lite as I was feeling sick I was that hungry and I can see myself tucking into pasta in a big way later on. Dinner tonight for them will be fish fingers and chips, air fry hand cut chips so I will have those with maybe the mushrooms and bacon I had planned on for yesterday

Weekends are usually pretty easy for me, pasta on Saturday and a roast on Sunday and thats basically it for us

@Longwalker - there's no reason why you can't have sausages if you want to.   There are lots of low syn sausages around from most of the SMs, eg Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself; Aldi Skinny pork sausages.  I'm very lucky that I have a butcher fairly close where I can buy low fat sausages and burgers.  As it's in the opposite direction direction to any of the SMs I tend to buy a couple of dozen sausages and a dozen burgers at a time so I don't have to go too often.

Going to add a low fat sausage to today's lunch as the butcher can't count and I have an odd 2 sausages!  Asked for 24 and got 22!  20 have been portioned and bagged and into the freezer.  That will mean an extra 0.5 syn for the sausage.

Have you used your HEB?  If not you could still do the KFC and just turn some bread/pitta or whatever into crumbs and add your herbs/spices to that instead.  It's worth leaving it out on the work surface to dry out before making into crumbs or even toasting it!

Could always make a curry with some cauliflower rice.

    Hi all,

The lurgy seems to have gone, but left with a husky voice.

Thankfully it's been dry today, my Son is back at cricket tonight so I get to spend 2 hours at the cricket pitch, this is a new club so nor sure what it's going to be like. Think I'll have to dig a book out.

Daughter had her last day of 6th Form and the whole year has gone to the pub, so keeping my fingers crossed she stays sensible.

    Fully back on plan today

B: overnight oats, 1/2 hexb blueberries and raspberries free

L: beans and cheese my little bowl of comfort. 1 syn for brown sauce hex a

D: meatballs and pasta in a tomato sauce. Used a spoon of Gochugang for the sauce but that's 1 syn between 4 servings

Snacks: 2 plums, apple. Hot chocolate later 3 syns.

    Total syns 5.
