    Morning all.

Food looks amazing as always @bubbs - really need to make a fakeaway Chinese next week I think!

Hehe thanks @maman - definitely think it was due to the rather strenuous walks (not kidding, I was almost crawling at one point up a path because it was so steep) offsetting the 2 meals a day we had.  As dinner was 3 courses (although portions weren't huge), breakfast wasn't a big meal for me so would just have a fruit platter and smoked salmon with scrambled or poached eggs.  Didn't consciously go out of my way to be mindful of what I ate, just had what I fancied and stopped when I was full.

I'd agree with others @MrsPorridge and join this week so you have a couple of weeks under your belt before you go away.

Haven't had breakfast this morning yet as not feeling too hungry.  Lunch will definitely be a chicken salad and dinner is fish fillets (think it's basa) with chips and mushy peas because I fancied something comforting-ish.

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Morning all,

I've given up on company shop @bubbs mainly because it's quite a trek for me to get there.  Still quite liking the occasional TGTG bags. I am also now in the mood for a cooked chicken 🤣

Went way over syns last night. Dinner wasn't too bad but wine was a different story! But was so nice to have us all together again and worth the very likely gain on Saturday!  Completely back on track now, will see what happens.

WFH today so food will be easier to manage.

B - bran flakes (HEB), f/f Greek yoghurt, berries
L - lentil soup (it's quite chilly here!)
D - spaghetti bolognaise, Parmesan (HEA)

    Have a good day all!

Morning all, a fairly bright morning so far so have done a machine load of washing and got it on the line.  Not much dry weather forecast in the foreseeable future so at least the washing bin is almost empty.

    A great food haul @bubbs.

It must be lovely to have everyone together @Jellybaby and why not enjoy some wine syns on your Ds's first night home.  But great you've drawn the line and are completely back on plan.  You may find you can rein it back in enough to get STS on Saturday but if it's a gain you'll know where it's come from.

    Today's plan:

    B - mushroom omelette - P; S
L - toasted cheese sandwich, tomatoes, pickled onions, pickled beetroot - HEA2; HEB; S
    D - sweet and sour chicken, rice - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - probably have a mini mix lolly 6 (need to check but think that's what they are)

    Have a good day everyone.

I think what happens @ruby_eskimo is we get used to eating healthy food which helps to make wise choices. I know I consciously avoid things are that are fatty or full of bread or pastry. I really enjoy a variety of vegetables and feel quite cheated when somewhere serves up just peas.

The recent research on ultra processed food is interesting. Not surprising but encouraging to have it confirmed that most SW friendly foods are healthy too.

It's dry and warmish here today @joedenise, thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow and then improving until it's brilliant sunshine later next week. 🤞🏼 they get it right.

It went very cold here yesterday evening @Jellybaby. I think it will soon be time for lentil soup here too. 😁 I redid my freezer inventory yesterday and there's a large gammon joint in there that needs using up so I can make soup at the same time.

Still quite a bit in the freezers but low on Bolognese so need to batch cook some soon.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, 2 eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese and spring onions (P,S), tomatoes and pickles (S)
D- Austrian ham hash (P,S,F and HEA2 cheese topping), cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
    Syns- 0

Thanks all for your input on my dilemma on whether to join before or after my holiday.  Having slept on it I have decided to join after the holiday.  However, I bought the SW magazine this morning and have found quite a lot of recipes that I like, meat balls, fish pie etc.,  I have done my shopping list to be delivered on 1st September so once I get back I will be ready to get straight on it.  During this week before my holidays I will be starting to watch what i'm eat, doing extra exercise etc.

Well done for coming to a decision @MrsPorridge. It's always good to have a plan. 👍 Exercise helps but it's definitely the food that makes the biggest difference. We love meatballs here too. 😋 I made 40 for the freezer last weekend. 😁

I succumbed to 2.5 syns this afternoon. Not often I fancy something sweet but a cherry liqueur with a cuppa hit the spot. Now there's the rest of the box.... 🤔🤣

Agree @maman; glad @MrsPorridge has made a decision on joining SW.  Well done on buying the magazine and deciding to make some of the recipes.  You'll be able to buy the magazine cheaper once you start group - very MSE!

@maman - that's the problem when you open a box of chocolates of any sort!  Hopefully you can leave them alone until you really fancy something sweet again!
