Planning on roasting some tomatoes when I cook the roast later ready for freezing.  They're coming thick and fast and we've only got 3 plants!  A cherry, a salad and a beef.  Picked a beef tomato today the size of a tennis ball!  That won't be roasted - we'll keep that for sandwiches as they're DH's favourite tomatoes.

Morning all, a lovely bright morning so have done a machine load of towels and tea towels, didn't realise there were so many waiting to be washed!  The cupboards ought to be empty but they most certainly aren't!

Nothing much planned for today other than portioning up the beef stew I cooked in the SC yesterday.  Think they'll probably be enough for 3, or if I'm careful with portion sizes 4, meals for us both.  I always cook potatoes to go with it and sometimes dumplings for DH too so the portions don't really need to be too large.

    Today's plan:

    B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
    L - tuna salad - P; S
    D - lamb dhansak curry, rice - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - oats
Syns - no idea at the moment but sure I'll find something to have!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning everyone,

I'm back from hols into the SW fold 😁 Had an amazing time, weather was horrendous but didn't let it stop us getting out and about. Had to change plans slightly due to both parents not being well (they're on the mend) but it was so nice to have my brother there for support and share the running around.  Other sibling flew off to Greece for a month - enough said. DB leaves on Friday but DS1 is currently on a plane and will arrive home tomorrow so still all go here.

Did manage to get to WI on Saturday and it was an expected gain - 2.5 lbs - not as bad as I thought it was going to be and may be another gain this week as the weekend involved lots more eating out, treats and alcohol!  Have reached that stage though I'm keen to get back on the wagon and eating healthy.  Jeans and fitted tops are definitely a lot more 'snug' 🤣

WFH today but hoping to catch up with all that's been happening over the last few weeks.

    Today's food:
    B - f/f Greek yoghurt, fruit salad
L - ham salad with pickles - maybe 1.5 syns for salad cream
D - gammon steak, new potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and sweetcorn

    Have a good day all.

Just found out that there is going to be a very long diversion into the town where I go to SW due to roadworks and the roads are going to be closed for a year!  If I find the diversion causes problems I may well give up going to group and just use posting here instead.  I don't really need group - it's more for the company than anything else!

Well done @Jellybaby a 2.5lb gain after a holiday isn't bad at all and I'm sure it'll soon come off once you're back on plan.

So pleased you enjoyed your holiday @Jellybaby and that your DB took some of the pressure off you. Welcome back and well done on such a small gain after 2 weeks off plan. 👍🏼

That's so annoying to face that diversion for a whole year @joedenise. It seems there are road works cropping up  just about  everywhere these days. Unfortunately, it's rare to see anyone actually working on them!🤔🤣

I'm fortunate that I have a group just a few minutes from home. As you know, I only go every 8 weeks unless I'm out of range. That keeps my access to the website and ensures I don't let my weight creep up but I et most of my tips and encouragement on here.  I only really know the consultant and social team and generally weigh and go as the morning session clashes with my walking group if I stay any longer. I did go back for Image Therapy at the teatime group (consultant does 4 on a Thursday at the same venue) last week but I much prefer to weigh in the morning after breakfast. I'm sure you'll be fine whatever you decide to do.

Change of plan for our dinner today as DH may not be home before I have to leave for my dance class. The sausage casserole will be easier to reheat if necessary than the fish & chips I'd planned so that will be tomorrow's dinner now.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs (P)
    L- ham (P), 1 potato (F), fried veg ad pickles (S)
    D- sausage casserole (P,S), penne (F)
    Syns- Aldi sausages 1

@maman - I may well do what you do and just WI every 8 weeks so I don't lose access to the website as I think that's about the only thing I'd miss!  Also means I'd need to be a bit more careful than I sometimes am when I know I'm not going to group!  I wouldn't do an evening group at all unless DH drove me as I hate driving in the dark but like you I much prefer a morning WI.

Agree about road works and nobody working on them.  We've had road works which have already been ongoing for about 18 months which aren't due to be finished until Autumn 2024 - and things like this always seem to over-run so suspect it's more likely to be Spring 2025!

Had 0.5 syns at lunchtime!  I made some potato salad and rather than just using LTL mayo I made more of a dressing with mayo, white wine vinegar and mustard powder.  I added spring onions and a pack of chives chopped up which were in the fridge and needed using up!  Very tasty it was too.  There's still some left so may have some tomorrow.
