Morning all.
Glad the prompts came in handy @Coxy11 - wishing you the best of luck that you get the outcomes (both the interview and VR) that you want. My boss is off for 2 weeks now so I'm also in that kind of holiday mode too (only 4 weeks till we go!)
Good to hear you got everything sorted @bubbs and love the chicken burgers - might have to also have a go at making some.
Can I swap my 3lb gain with your 1/2 @beanielou? 🤣
Managed a run this morning and another PB - have no idea how though, swear it feels harder every time. Also managed some strength training last night so feeling like I'm back in the zone a little. Had some shredded wheat and raspberries for breakfast, lunch is going to be a picky salad plate with some of the leftover gammon from the weekend and dinner is a mushroom risotto.

Morning all, a dry day to wake up to this morning but of course more rain forecast for later!
Glad you managed to get things sorted out @bubbs. How on earth do you eat your burgers - they're huge! Assume you must use a knife and fork as there's no way you could pick it up to eat, LOL!
Hope you get the hoped for outcomes re job and VR @Coxy11. Good that you'll find out today about the job at least. Any idea how long you'll have to wait to here about the VR? If you get the VR will you have to work out your 3 months notice? That's what happened to me when I got VR in the Civil Service back in the 90s! It's horrible knowing that you're going but have to keep going in every day. I even had to save a day's leave for the very last day so that I didn't have to go in on a Monday to finish!
A bit of a fish and rice day today! Didn't plan that very well did I? So it's:
B - porridge made with water, blueberries (only fruit I've got left until I go shopping later) - HEB; S
L - kedgeree - P; S; F
D - thai red fish curry, rice - P; S; F; 1.5
HEA - milk
HEB - oats
Syns - coconut milk 1.5
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all,
Well done on the teeny wee gain @beanielou you'll have that - and more - off next week.
Wish my boss would go on holiday @Coxy11!
Your food looks amazing as always @bubbs
Today's food:
B - fruit salad with f/f Greek yoghurt, Skinny syrup (0.5)
L - bacon roll (HEB), side of mushrooms and tomatoes
D - blackened salmon, new potatoes, roasted carrots, cauliflower, green beans
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Well done on the PB @ruby_eskimo . I'm sure it feels hard becasue you're challenging yourself but it's worth it to get the results you're having.👍🏼
You plan some lovely meals @Jellybaby. I could just fancy that salmon.😋
I was thinking about meal planning last night @joedenise. I know some people think it can be restrictive but mine is very loose. I only plan for dinners and they can be swapped around if needed. For breakfast I just buy in ingredients and DH decides what he's cooking on the day. For lunches, it's much the same but I can please myself. Mostly I have some leftovers to eat up (I cook plenty deliberately) or it's something like a JP or an omelette. Invariably though, on the day I've planned a sausage casserole, DH will decide to do beans and bacon for breakfast! I'm sure you'll survive your fish and rice day. 😁 Probably the most important thing is to have SW friendly foods in stock.
Do let us know if you hear anything about yesterday's interview @Coxy11. Would there be a problem if your current bosses knew you'd been looking around? 🤔
Todays EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs, ham (P)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad bits (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,F,S), cabbages, cauli, broccoli (S)
Syns- 1 for cornflour

I've done a lot of moving meals around @maman mainly because of going away in the motorhome at the weekend and the meals I'd planned weren't suitable for cooking in there as it's only a hob really that's worth using!
We survived the fish and rice dishes today. Really enjoyed the thai red fish curry although DH wasn't so keen; will probably do a chicken one next time as DH really prefers his fish battered, LOL!
Got a really good TGTG SW friendly bag this evening - all fruit and veg! 2 bags of miniature potatoes; bag of wonky potatoes; bag of carrots; 2 packs of cherries; 2 packs of 4 apples; a round lettuce; bag of radishes; small pack of button mushrooms and a pack of 2 chicory. Really pleased that there was no bread or cakes!

That’s a good haul @joedenise 😊
So a day of highs and lows. Found out I am going to be offered VR. Should hear exact terms tomorrow re: money and leaving date. I didn’t get the role I interviewed for yesterday. The head of the panel rang me just before 5pm and said it was close between me and an existing employee. She said I was ‘brilliant’ and that she wants me to work for her so will keep me in mind for other roles. I said I’d appreciated the interview practice and that the timing probably wasn’t right anyway. So, I feel okay about it. Bit nervous about VR but we shall see what the offer is.And confession time - have eaten my body weight in cream crackers today as was feeling anxious. Don’t judge me 🤣Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
Of course we won't be judging you @Coxy11.
That's good news about the VR! 👍 You're right that now wouldn't have been the right time to take another job. There's notice for one thing but are there rules about how soon you can work again? 🤔 Probably that only applies if another similar CS job.
You must have done well in the interview to get such good feedback. It's always hard though to be up against an internal candidate.0 -
Hope the VR terms are favourable @Coxy11. I think you're right that changing job at the moment is probably not the best timing for you. Great feedback though. Definitely worth waiting for the terms of the VR in case you end up having to work 3 months the same as I did all those years ago.
I know that in the CS working for them again after VR there is definitely a time limit but it is dependent on grade. For junior grades it is one year and more senior grades two years.0 -
Good news on the VR cocy.
Boo to job but great feedbank.
