Morning all, weather forecast not looking too good for our weekend away but it will still be good to meet up with friends.
@bubbs - don't worry about crying in front of people, it's a normal part of grieving. Both @beanielou and @longwalker have said pretty much the same.
@Coxy11 - had to laugh at your DH getting pomegranate seeds instead of strawberries! I quite like them but they're definitely not strawberries. If you make couscous they made a really nice addition with all the other things you can put in and add a little sweetness.
Today's plan:
B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
L - no idea as will probably eat out
D - spag bol - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - oats
Syns - couple of G&Ts? 6
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all.
Don't worry @Longwalker I'll post some pictures when we're back - heading off to Norway so I'm excited for the stunning scenery and we have a couple of hiking excursions booked in so should be getting my steps in. Being brave and have booked a little treat for myself in the shape of my first ever massage. Never been to a spa in my life but determined to fully relax on this trip so there we go. Definitely sounds like a busy few weeks for you, hope there isn't too much drama and stress with all the family getting together.
Best of luck with the interview on Monday @Coxy11. Giving you the same advice I give all my mentees - you know they're going to ask you the standard questions about team work, time management, prioritising work load and dealing with stressful situations / conflict so as long as you have those in your back pocket you should be fine.
I'm sure you'll be back in target range soon @maman as you know the plan inside and out.
Hope the weather isn't too bad for your weekend away @joedenise
Went for a final run of the week this morning and got a second fastest 5km so happy with that. Had some yogurt and blueberries for breakfast, lunch is going to be a couple of poached eggs with tomatoes and cauliflower hash browns (a few syns for those) and dinner tonight is chicken, pepper and onion skewers with pitta bread, yogurt, salad and potato wedges. Might even treat myself to an alcohol free beer.

Morning all,
Enjoying your stories about walking and food @Longwalker and admire you hosting so many guests! I think I might be starting to get a bit anti-social 🤣
Lots of hugs @bubbs thinking of you and your family.
Another WFH day and I'm being a bit creative with food using up what's left in the fridge and freezer as really need to do a big, and I mean big, shop.
Today's plan:
B - toast (HEB), banana
L - veggie omelette with pickles
D - M&S pork & red onion sausages (6.5 syns each 😢), chips, mushrooms and beans
The sausages were part of a TGTG bag from weeks ago and I stuck them in the freezer when I saw how many syns they were!0 -
It sounds like you plan to open a guest house @Longwalker🤣. Do find some time for yourself when you have your visitors, hopefully keep walking with your neighbour/buddy.
I've never been to a spa either @ruby_eskimo but I have had massages and they're great. Most recently on holiday where I booked myself in for one alongside a Turkish bath. Hope you enjoy yours when it happens.
Don't push yourself too hard @bubbs. I know there's lots to do but be kind to yourself. 🤗
I hope those sausages taste good for all those syns @Jellybaby. That's the trouble with being mse, we all hate wasting food.
Strange that Tesco didn't have strawberries @Coxy11. I'm sure your DH meant well but pomegranate seeds seems an odd alternative. I keep a bag of berries in the freezer and, if/when I forget to get them out in advance, a quick ping soon defrosts them.
It's nice here at the moment @joedenise but I think rain is forecast around lunchtime and then throughout the weekend. I'm sure you'll have a good time in the MH though.
I've had a SW breakfast (porridge with berries and banana) and we'll see what choices I can make at lunchtime. I've done my meal plan and list so hopefully we'll stop and do the shopping when we're out otherwise I'll leave it to tomorrow but I hate shopping on Saturdays.0 -
Sorry @maman I missed your update from yesterday. That's great that you're only a little bit out of target. I'm doing okay today food-wise. Agree that the pomegranate seeds were an odd choice. TBF it was gone 9pm and he'd had a drink with BIL so probably wasn't thinking straight! I would have thought raspberries were a better alternative?!
Had a 3 egg mushroom, spinach and cheese omelette with salad leaves, tomatoes and pickles at lunchtime. Could not finish it all (left some of the omelette). Now craving sweet stuff but will hold out for a hifi a bit later.
Might not take DDad to DSis tonight after all as nephew is in hospital with glandular fever and tonsilitis. They are all meant to go away tomorrow with nephew driving a second vehicle, but that's not likely. He may well have to come live with us for a week or so. My poor DSis can never catch a break - always something
