Change of plan again for lunch!  There wasn't enough corned beef for us both to have corned beef so DH had that in a sandwich and I had my planned cheese omelette so at least I saved myself a few syns!

I'm just grabbing a break now and don't fancy, or have time to prepare, the planned tuna salad. Will have a banana and pick at the last of the strawberries.

I'm more of a crisp and nut gal 😁

@beanielou - lol at the chocoholic :) But I get it. Mines scotch, as long as I dont have one Im grand, unfortunately I tend to have one at 5, another at 5:30, 6, 6;30 and possibly 7 - 5x3 syns - all good, even if no syns for food. But then some nights I could still be drinking till 2am :( Im doing as well as I can, have the bottle on an optic and totally filling the glass with Diet Coke but if I have a thirst on me ( as in a drinking mood ) once I start I cant stop till I fall asleep. The drinking moods arent so often now but still come on me

It is what it is, Im working on dealing with it - again, its just not happening right now

@Coxy11 I too will never get SOTW. I do get so frustrated when others are clocking up 4 or 5lb and theres 2 women who got their stone within 4 weeks. I do I get really really cross and jealous and then I go overboard on the scotch and then that makes it even harder for myself. Total ruddy madness. I really do need to chill now Ive got that stone. Ive 10 weeks till the wedding, whatever comes off comes off. I just need to keep repeating that to myself and hope it sinks in and stays !!!

Im so good at supporting others, Im so hard on myself

Many congratulations on your 2.5lbs loss @Longwalker.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 That's brilliant and you have the motivation of looking fabulous in your wedding dress to keep you going! Please stick around, you're very welcome.😊

I don't think it's necessarily just getting older that makes it harder to lose weight @joedenise although possibly being less active has something to do with it. I find it's always that final few pounds that are hardest to shift.

Thanks for all the positive messages. I did go to WI and the bad news is that I've gained 6 lbs!! The good news though is that, as I'd done well before my holiday, I'm only 1.5 lbs out of range. 😁

1.5 lbs off in a week is doable but we're out for lunch tomorrow which, although I want to catch up with friends, is unfortunate as I'd rather eat out later in the week knowing how many syns I have left. I'm going to do a very careful meal plan so I don't need many syns after the weekend.

It was pretty chaotic at group this morning. The WI queue was huge as the tablet wasn't working properly so the consultant was having to weigh people and then she'll have to enter all the details manually during the week.

Agree that nothing goes better with tonic than gin @joedenise. Years ago, I used to enjoy a gin and lime but not had that for ages. I'm definitely more a crisps person than chocolate @Jellybaby. I think it was 3 weeks of crisps with sundowners, biscuits with cups of tea and the copious bread that put most of those 6lbs on for me.

How exciting that your cruise is getting ever nearer  @ruby_eskimo. You certainly need a relaxing break after all the rushing around and staying over with your parents. Good luck with that last 3 lbs. 🤞🏼

I had to look up Kosharry @Coxy11 as I'd never heard of it. Seems it's an Egyptian dish. let us know how it goes. The Egyptian moussaka that you posted about is also very much the Turkish way too @Longwalker. I agree it needs loads of bread to mop up the lovely sauce. I found this recipe which seems very SW friendly.

Is yours very different? Which spices do you use? 🤔

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk
L- veggie frittata (P,F.S) with salad and pickles (S)
D- savoury mince (P,S), new potatoes (F), cauli, broccoli, cabbages, carrots (S)
    Syns- 0

Change of plan for lunch for me too - unfortunately I do not have @Jellybaby's halo.

Walk with friend went on until nearly 2pm. It was humid out and I'm wearing jeggings.... I also discovered a diary mistake just before going out so was a bit stressed (you can all tell where this is going....)

Lunch was 6 x crabsticks, packet of loaded fries (4 syns), blue riband 4.5 - absolutely disgusted with myself.

Now drinking a decent coffee and trying to mitigate my work error. Have been invited for a F2F interview on Monday morning. No news of voluntary exit yet but no harm in getting some interview experience in the meantime.

Don't beat yourself up @Coxy11 - you're still within syns.  Hope you enjoyed your decent coffee.  Hope you managed to sort out your work error.

Are you hoping for voluntary redundancy?  Hope the interview goes well for you on Monday morning.

Coffee was lovely - I have a Ne$presso machine so it's a little mid-afternoon treat. I've applied for VE and have been scored but no more news. Was mooching around the internet and saw the role advertised so thought I'd give it a go, just for application experience if nothing else. Interview is 9.30am on Monday, face to face, eeeeeek.

  • Hi all,

I am absolutely shattered today, drove up to Heathrow last night as my Daughter was flying out this morning. We all slept terribly, though I'm hoping it'll mean my Daughter sleeps on her flight otherwise she's going to be even more tired!.

My Hubby and I decided to have our belated anniversary day out so had a few hours wandering around Henley-on-Thames - it's lovely, I went to Gail's for tea and a cinnamon bun, then we had a pint by the river, then Thai for lunch followed by an ice cream also by the river.

Completely off plan, but was worth every syn, back on plan tomorrow but don't think I'll be eating for sometime now.

@Coxy11  - Good luck with the VR and with the interview.  I took VR back in 1996 from Transport and then ended up temping at TSol for 2 years and then worked permanently for them for nearly 13 years.  Really didn't want to stay in the CS but once there it was just easier to stay put!

Glad you had a good day @annabanana82 for your belated anniversary.  We're allowed to celebrate and go off plan from time to time.  Just get back on plan tomorrow to give yourself the best chance of a small loss this week.
