How clever of you to put the Chinese out in the take away cartons @bubbs. It looks like the real thing. 👍
Like @joedenise said @Coxy11 , even though you had syns for lunch, you didn't go mad so don't worry.
So pleased you got your day out @annabanana82. Those were your anniversary syns so well deserved. Henley is very pretty and makes sense to make a day of it as you were going to the airport. Hope you sleep well tonight. 😴
So we can expect a wee gain @beanielou? 🤔0 -

Maman i did it like that as cooked one dish at a time and then put in the oven to keep warm.
Beanie that's all we can do, i really broke down this afternoon as i told DH i was scared to see different people , he asked me why? and the simple fact is i am scared of breaking down when i talk to them. My friend came to see me today but i knew it wouldn't matter if i did and it didn't she just gave me massive hugs 🤗🤗
This is why i made a nice different tea 😋Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:1 -

@bubbs, I so hope you arent feeling guilty about the dates? Every day of the year there is a tragedy in a family and we cant not live out lives and do what we have to do because of it. Step dad died Boxing Day, MIL 10 days later, we dont stop having Christmas and New year. We toast them, we remember them, we sometimes still shed a tear. I totally get needing to leave Dads personal belongs a while longer, if you arent going through them, its not there in your face having to deal with it all when you are still in complete shock.As for tears, cry. Those tears have to come and dont hold them back, they are in a way very healing and anyone with one ounce of compassion will understand@coxy11, thank you so much for walking with your friend who's recently bereaved. The day I started SW, my best friend and neighbour husband committed suicide, I got the call in group to come home. I had to change group day as I couldn't go back to that group. Anyways, me and Carol were walking buddies before and 10 days after, she was texting me - walk?. Im not blowing my own trumpet, Im trying to say that she needs our walks more then me, they give her normality, fill a bit of the long evening, give her chance to cry and most of all laugh. Even tonight when I felt I couldn't have walked the length of myself, I got the text, we got 2 miles in and we were splitting our sides with laughter and truth is I needed it just as much. Walking and talking, laughing and crying, talking complete !!!!!!, we have a friendship thats survived a horrendous bereavement when most people will shy away@maman meseka sounds very similar - no cinnamon though, usually cumin, coriander, chilli and enough garlic to sink the titanic
. Back in my poor house days, it was slice and salt the aubergine slices, then shallow fry till crispy. Deep fry cubed potatoes and peppers , saute in even more oil loads of garlic and onions, throw in the mince - and it was a tiny amount, spices, get to browning, stir in the fried veggies, add the tomatoes and just simmer away. A huge pot of purple/blackness. As the week went on it became kind of like a Christmas pudding - matured with age. If trying to be healthy, you let it cool and skimmed off the orange oil that sat at the top, but the minute you reheated more oil escaped from the aubergines
So yes this time, using the air fryer, its tasty and good, but not right
As for Koshcarry, another dish I sort of remember . Egyptians always fry their rice with an handful of broken vermicelli , just till the rice starts to pop , then add the water and steam cook - its amazing ( so miss it) Its kind of like fried rice from a Chinese. I cant mind the pasta bit though, rice and chickpeas and deep fried onions and garlic and chillis I do remember but then my BIL was cooking me these dishes in the 80's after living in the UK for 10 years and all recipes evolve.I love Egyptian and Turkish "peasant " food. When we used to go to Turkey 3 or 4 times a year, we ate in Lokantas and ate the most beautiful food , barely any meat , just stews/casseroles of veggies and pulses served with fresh salad and fresh bread - see, bread again@ruby_eskimo oh how lucky you are cruising, Im coming around to the idea myself. Pictures and a full cruise report is required by meDont forget, you can walk the ship for exercise before or after afternoon tea
Just enjoy xxx
@annabanana82 so glad you two had a lovely day together,Henley is indeed beautiful and walking around stopping here and there and enjoying the views and each other sounds lovely. Now me and Mr L are back in the poor house we really do enjoy days like that much more then splashing the cash and we have good relaxing timeIm exhausted, Totally and utterly wrecked. Starting tomorrow we have house guests right up till the wedding ( its Mr L's son ) DGD tomorrow , aged 9 she has worse issues around food then me, latest is nothing red. Then neice and friend coming Sunday from Australia , they dont eat the heavy British food we eat, they go, then I have first set of inlaws, shes a fantastic cook, lecturer in home ecc or whatever its called these days, then the second set coming for a stay , then they go and its the stepson and his bride to be PLUS her parents and somewhere in-between that lot the 3rd set of inlaws may arrive from the IOM only they are waiting on hospital appointmentsIm going to be struggling the next couple of months for sure. Im exhausted because I have spent the past week scrubbing and polishing the house to an inch of its life and its a ruddy big house ( now you know why I drink - too much family and too much house) I gave in to hunger and tiredness today and ate BREAD - with BUTTER and it was so good. Had a big chicken curry with lots of tomatoes and spinach for dinner which gave me the energy to walk tonight
OMG Ive written a tome , Im signing off0 -
Morning all,
Wow @Longwalker that's a lot of guests with various needs, I'm exhausted just reading the list. I definitely think the walking helps me too. On WFH days I rarely even get to 1k steps unless I'm popping out to the high street or post office.
The Kosharry was nice if a bit spicy - I used Habanero chilli flakes - DDad was up and down to blow his nose! 3 portions last night and another 4 in the freezer for work lunches.
Take your time with DDad's things @bubbs - just pace yourself and accept all the hugs - sending you a virtual one now (((hug))) x
Sent DH to Ts last night as we were very low on milk. Also asked him to get blueberries and strawberries. No strawberries so he got pomegranate seeds?!
